Magical Mystery tour is one of the best albums to me. Very trippy and contains 5-6 of the best Beatle songs ever made. People that told you to skip this must not know Beatles music. This is basically a soundtrack for a film so many don't consider it a studio album and it does have stuff on it that is more soundtrack oriented. Many all time classics are on here and its full on stoner type music.
This is album is definitely NOT one to be overlooked. The songs are some of their most innovative and trippy. Their will be plenty of smiles in your future while listening to this!! Get ready to enjoy!😁😵💫😄
This is why I watch your videos. You guys hear things in music that I have missed, even on records I have listened to for 50 years. Fresh ears! Thank you!
My dad played this and many other Beatles albums on his reel-to-reel as far back as I can remember. He also played Blood Sweat And Tears, Zeppelin, Floyd, Simon and Garfunkel. Thanks Dad❤
Maybe folks said skip it because it's essentially a collection of singles and soundtrack songs for the 'Magical Mystery Tour' movie that they made for TV rather than a proper album. It's not to be skipped though, it's top stuff.
I literally search RU-vid every single day for new Beatles reactions. I can’t tell you how happy I was to see you guys pop up with Magical Mystery Tour. I love this album. Great choice!
I'm in the car listening to your video, and I said to my friend that this album gets no love and it's one of my favorites. Then you guys say that people told you to skip it!! Crazy. Enjoy the ride!
This album has so many hits, so many of their best songs! Strawberry Fields, I Am the Walrus, Hello, Goodbye, Penny Lane, Fool on the Hill...Great album.
They can't be Beatles' fans if they told you to skip this album. There are some great Beatles' songs on this album. Including: Hello Goodbye, All You Need Is Love, The Fool On The Hill, the song you just reacted to, Strawberry Fields Forever and a couple more.
Guys, you made the perfect Album Choice. And Ringos drumming really shines on this opening track. As I’m typing this while watching. He just changed his entire time pattern. And La you caught it, your eyes lit up. You can’t do The White Album without listening to this one. Enjoy it my friends. Well enjoy watching them with you. Peace and Continues Success ❤
Almost pissed off to think the poll said to skip! I am the Walrus, Strawberry Fields, Penny Lane to mention a few were the hottest thing out there! People everywhere were listening to I am the Walrus BACKWARDS to hear John say “I BURRIED PAUL”. This is part of a HUGH rumor that Paul was killed in an automobile accident. EPIC FRIKKIN ALBUM !!!!
Nah, there are NO Beatles songs or albums that should be skipped. Anyone who would tell you that doesn't know what's up. Every single song on this album is great.
@@paulprendergast3184 Could be. I certainly believe in the right to believe what you want. But I think it's more likely they just don't know what's up. SMFH...
@@stlmopoet I think of The Yellow Submarine as half soundtrack, half EP, and it's got 3 of my favorite Beatles songs. I would say skip the soundtrack side, but definitely not the actual Beatles tracks.
This just really reached out and grabbed me sometime around 8th grade. It just really got to me. And I was into all kinds of stuff including hard rock and all that. But this just really got to me. This album I mean. I love George Harrison in Blue Jay Way, for example.
Thanks boys. I'm now 71 and have been an avid beatles fan since my school years and NEVER knew they were singing ROLL UP! I always sang the lah lahs too😂
I’ve seen heated online debates about whether this is an “album” or not. It’s case of technical accuracy getting in the way of common sense. It would be a huge mistake to skip over this one. Great reaction!
Laa and Chee! Peak psychedelic era!! I remember being 6-7 years old and just being amazed! Thanks for bringing back those memories. Chee, I remember the cartoon also!!! Man, music is the real Time Machine!! Thank you guys! Awesomely fantastic!!
Just wait till you get to The White Album-if you do it-30 songs, I think. They went mad crazy with the mixing and layering. And you'd never guess it was all there in the final product. Eclectic. I guess that's why it's so revered, cursed, and remembered. Thanks, Guys.
Don’t ever skip this album. There are great songs on this album. Maybe two songs that some people don’t get but I love the whole thing. Note( The album gos with a BBC television special they produced that was not well received by critics. However they are video clips of some songs if you can find them.
In the UK a Mystery Tour was when you bought a ticket for a coach trip not knowing where you were going to end up. The Beatles added Magical, because they could. The TV film that these songs belonged to began with the Beatles on a coach with a crowd of other people (many of them famous Brit TV names) and after a while the Tour got very psychedelic, as you can see in the videos for songs like I Am The Walrus. The album seemed to come in two formats - one was standard vinyl album size (which I didn't see till much later, and may have been an import), and one was two vinyl singles size, in a luxury booklet format containing many pages of photographs and text sandwiched between the singles. This was the version I had for many years. Watching the first broadcast of this show on TV in 1967 was one of the highlights of my adolescent life!
If you do all the albums including the Anthology albums you're going to be here for a while...and I'll be here for it. Have you heard the Anthology 3 version of Helter Skelter? Someday, perhaps... The 50th anniversary editions have alternate versions of the songs as well that are very interesting to listen to, especially when there's studio chatter. Makes you feel like you're in the studio with them.
We had this EP when it first came out in England. I think there were two records with four songs on each? Absolutely love your kind and thoughtful comments especially to the Beatles but also to most of the music you react to.
i don,t know why anyone would tell you to skip this album, this album is full of gems, back in the 60,s people were getting a little mad at the beatles for dressing up in costumes , they loved them and just wanted them to be themselves, it was all about the hippie scene in the 60,s people found it campy and did not want them to be gimmicky, the most lack luster of albums from the Beatles are better then most bands best album thats for sure, i think you gents will be very pleased with this album, love your reactions , peace to you guys always
I am happy to be re-hearing this with you! I always thought they were singing "come on, the magical mystery tour", not "roll up..". Love your musically tuned ears picking out so many things I did not notice when I was young. I just listened and liked it. 😊
It's a psychedelic classic. It has bona fide 1960s classics and #1 songs plus Strawberry Fields/Penny Lane which "only" reached #2 but is arguable one of the greatest singles in rock history.
La/Che another great reaction gentleman. Beatles definitely geniuses. Great song hold onto your shorts and enjoy the ride. The rest of the album is fire. Thank u for sporting the shirts fellas. I truly mean what I say definitely best in the business. I hope you don’t mind me taking your initial brand picture? I just thought it was a really good picture. I am glad you like them and glad that they fit. Keep on doing what you are doing…
I never realized they were singing, "Roll up" either. Nice catch. Blew my mind. BTW, I can't believe people suggested you should skip this album. (I missed the poll). This album is absolutely unskipable. Banger after banger after banger. Some of the songs are legendary. Hall of Fame material, no doubt. Thanks for the great reaction, guys. Always a pleasure.
Great way to kick off an album. A lot of people didn't like this album but I dug it. Flying is a rare instrumental song you'll dig especially after you roll up 😆.
I reckon the reason people told you to skip this was because it isn't *officially* an album. It's part soundtrack to the film, part singles, part songs they left off Pepper's. It's not a cohesive album like the rest. It's a collection of Beatles songs so it's still brilliant
I only smoke from a bowl, so I always heard "comealong." What makes you hear "La! La!" - bongs or blunts? I can't believe it's "roll up!" You guys are great.
DO NOT SKIP!!!! You may know some of the songs on the 2nd side as it is a collection of singles that were released around that time. I knew the concept of the LP, so I always heard "Roll up", and yes, we had the same reference about rolling one up.
Every Beatles album is well worth the time!! A Hard Days Night was done in 1964 and every single song on it is a hit!!! Just make sure you listen to the early stuff on parlaphone label. Those are the fully intact English versions. Not the butchered versions on the American Capital label. They would omit songs add singles and try to create more products to rob the public!! This album you’re listening to now is a fantastic album. I think it blows Sgt Peppers away and is the best for their 1967 releases even though originally it was released as an Extended 8 track record. They later added singles tracks that weren’t on any albums from 1967 and added it to the 8 track EP earlier released as Magical Mystery Tour. All songs on this album are 1967 releases so it’s completely relevant to the period!!!
Saw the Movie "magical mystery tour" in a college screening. 1968, Then the busses came and we all went to a Magical Mystery Tour that ended on a boat and a band and a dance. Good times.
