I managed to get five gold stars for every track on this game on every instrument including all DLC. I ended up learning the instruments for real, learning all the tracks, and successfully auditioning for Paul's songwriting school in Liverpool. I've since played the Cavern for real three times, including the 50th anniversary of Abbey Road last year where me and some friends played the album in its entirety, with myself playing bass and singing. I get to meet Paul at my graduation where they're showing pro-shot footage of that show, meaning that I've gone from learning the songs on a plastic guitar for a game, to actually getting to perform them for real for McCartney himself. Only just thought that that's probably the most anyone has ever completed this game ahahaha

A personal memory I have with this game. My dad who I saw very little of in my late teen years surprise me for Christmas with Modern Warfare 2, I was a drummer and was ecstatic over the Beatles that fall of 2009. I remember the story he told me of him watching them on Ed Sullivan and I made him relive that memory by doing playing I Want To Hold Your Hand on drums. I did a high 90's on expert I could never do the double triplets Ringo when the lads hold the high Hand before the chorus. It made me happy and I kept playing til I wanted a break and went on to Modern Warfare 2, The Beatles were more important and came first at the time of the anticipated sequel. Only 9 days later he died tragically . It's hard for me to hear that song because of that memory and what I was trying to convey while showing him I could drum like Ringo. I know it's a sad ending but I just wanted to share this because that game meant alot to me.

It was because of this game that I got exposed to the Beatles. Now I am a huge fan!

One of my favorite things from this game is how when playing the song "Yellow Submarine", the Beatles start off in the studio as their Revolver selves, but once the transition to dreamscape occurs, they transition to their Yellow Submarine (album) selves. Just seeing small touches like that made me realize how much careful consideration was taken in development.

The real question is... will it get remastered?

After the split between Red Octane and Harmonix, I think Harmonix fares better in terms of maintaining quality with their games as opposed to Activision who just went nuts with Guitar Hero with very little consistency. The Beatles: RockBand is arguably the peak of the RockBand franchise in terms of how well made the game is. I’ve been waiting a while for this vid, and it’s been worth it.

I put on a Beatles art show in San Francisico for the big 9.9.9 and activision gave us a copy of this game to have at the opening party

I would love things like "The Kinks challenges you" and you get in a guitar battle.

Imagine a Beatles game in a GTA style where you can switch between the 4 members of the band and you go around the map completing missions and playing gigs (at the start), and then you have to escape the people during the beatlemania era, and stuff like that

I wasn't a huge Beatles fan when I bought this game secondhand and this game changed that drastically. Not only did I learn to love The Beatles, the difficulty in the game helped me improve as a Rock Band/Guitar Hero player in general. Absolutely one of my favorite rhythm games ever and one of my favorite bands ever.

The song selection was made purely on rounding out the difficulty tiers and making sure that there was at least one song from every album throughout the beatles’ career. I’m fairly certain that we only got three albums as DLC because of the amount of work that had to be made to create the dreamscapes and visuals for each song. Also Imagine was on RB3 along with the entire album as DLC same with Band on the Run and a couple of other songs from Paul and John’s solo careers

I recently became a Beatles fan and I wish I had this game. They put so much love into it and it would simply be the greatest thing ever.

I never knew this game existed only until i saw an advert of this on YT now its on my recommended.

My parents bought me this game in 2010 or 2011 when I was 12~13 about a year or two after I discovered the Beatles and had become completely obsessed with them. I was so happy and touched, and I played the whole game multiple times and I too started feeling sad towards the end because of the story and also just knowing that the game would be over. The most touching Beatles “merch” story I have though is back when I was around the same age, I think a little bit before they bought me the game. We were at a carnival and my little brother around 7 or 8 was playing a carnival game, the prizes were these HUGE guitar shaped clocks, they had every band imaginable. I spotted a Beatles one and I tried playing and lost. I was so upset cause I wanted the clock so bad and my brother was still playing and I asked him to please get the Beatles clock for me. He said no, and that he was gonna get the Green Day one for himself. He was obsessed with Green Day and to this day he still loves them. I was bummed out and walked about 10 or 20 feet away to my mom and dad asked my parents if I could just ask the carnival man if we could just buy the clock from them, but my parents said no cause they didn’t have much money and wanted everybody to be able to get stuff at the carnival. Anyways my brother ends up winning, and as he’s walking over I spot the Beatles guitar clock in his hands and I literally exploded with excitement. He, being a dickhead lil kid told me that it wasn’t for me and that it was his (he didn’t even really know of the Beatles lol) I knew he didn’t mean that, and that he actually did get it for me cause he knows how much the Beatles mean to me he just didn’t want to admit it. Anyways, we spent the rest of the night at the carnival and as we’re heading home and finally pull in the driveway, he jumps out the car without the Beatles clock on purpose. I took it in with me, hung it up on my bedroom wall, and here I am over 10 years later, moved out and I still have that Beatles guitar clock. Not only does it mean so much to me because it’s the Beatles, but the fact that my brother won it for me, even though he wouldn’t want to admit it out loud, even though I knew how bad he wanted the Green Day guitar clock for himself. It was really sweet and I’ll never forget it!

I’m hoping they renew the liscense, and offer backwards compatibility. THAT would be fun.

One of the core memories I have is Christmas 2009, my parents got me and my younger sister this game and we would play this game CONSTANTLY; I remember my sister getting on the microphone and me on the guitar playing "Hello, Goodbye" and my sister just jamming out and having the most fun time while my parents watched in awe and appreciation that their children loved the music they themselves grew up with. It was so beautiful and whenever I hear that song it reminds me of this wonderful moment we had as a family; I tear up, honestly.

I recently got this game...and while I completed it in about 2 days, I literally thought I was gonna lose my voice every time I would keep singing. This game has been a great experience for me. Since completing the story I thought of my own unique way of playing it, I put performance mode on and pretend I’m in the audience! I actually had my brother film me singing yellow submarine! He’s not much of a Beatles fan but whatever, my mom said this game is perfect for me! My family loves the Beatles to so I’m happy my brother got this game for me!! The Beatles career is so awesome and beautiful I love it!!! Like you said, I honestly wish there was more songs through DLC but I heard it was confirmed that it cost too much to add more than what is in the game, you cannot always get what you wish for, I guess. I have all the Beatles songs on my iPhone anyway so I’m satisfied with the set list. In conclusion, I didn’t know about this game but I’m happy I have it now. Without the Beatles, my life would be sad. So I’m glad they live on. This game is so fun and awesome! Even though I seriously almost lost my voice while doing the story mode, it was 100% WORTH IT! You know what, you CANNOT go wrong With The Beatles, To end my story, I’m glad every Beatles album was used for the set list.

This is probably my favorite video on RU-vid now. Like dude, I’ve “related” to other’s experiences explained in vids, but all you said was spot on. I also remember my dad taking me to buy the game at Best Buy and playing the game there. I complete understand what you mean when you were talking about the vibe of the game, I just got so immersed in it. So happy this video is out there on this game seeing as how my ps3 died on me so I can’t play this game anymore but I love seeing all the dreamscapes and being brought back to when I was 13 and experiencing all of them for the first time. I played a variety of Rockband and guitar heroes for the first time and Beatles Rockband was easily my favourite

I remember watching a documentary of The Beatles on RU-vid (back when almost everything went on RU-vid) of them recording Let It Be, Paul was talking about them rehearsing Get Back and One After 909 and said that during that time they reverted back to when they younger. He said they were goofing, joking and laughing with each other. He said it was the most fun they had in a long time just before they did their last concert and officially called it quits.

This game and I want to hold your hand got me into the Beatles. I love this game, it’s arguably the best looking rockband to date.

So I gotta tell a story. I'm 50 yrs old and have been a gamer since Atari and love the Beatles. My mom was visiting for mothers day and we played hours of Beatles Rockband, she loved it (as we all did too). We played into the night and into sure exhaustion. Next morning came and I made my way to the first cup of coffee I could find. I look downstairs and see my 70 year old mother on the drums playing Beatles Rockband at 5am. I laughed my collective arse off for hours. She was obsessed! That pull into the game you described is exactly what we lived. Loved the video man, thanks for the great memory.

When I got this in 2009 and quickly saw "Rubber Soul" come out as DLC, I was hyped to get a new album every few months. Then, there was no sign of that continuing after Pepper's and I was so bummed. I really expected to see "Help!" since Ticket to Ride was already included. Sigh. Play it to this day as well as RB2/3 and too much $ spent on DLC. It holds up.

I absolutely feel in love with the game when I obtained it in 2010 when a friend showed it to me. From there I was hooked. Just how unique and different it was from the traditional GH/RB titles. A whole experience on its own. It was a shame they stopped releasing official dlc for the game in 2016. But I have learned that there is a community dedicated to creating new content for the game via customs. And Yes Elenor Rigby is one of them.

This is the only Rock Band I ever wanted bc of The Beatles. Hell, i managed to fully discover The Beatles myself via Music Platforms like Spotify but i would've loved to discover them by playing their songs. Great video man, made me feel nostalgic for not having a newer Beatles videogame experience.

I think the biggest missed opportunity was not adding Keys until RB3, which came directly after -_- There were plenty of times where some type of keyboard or piano was charted on the guitar option. I also dream of some type of Beatles RB remaster, but if there's anything I'd really want from it 100%, it would definitely be adding the Keys option and Pro Drums

I got this game when I was a kid back then too, my grandparents wouldn't let me have guitar hero cause of some of the songs that were in it so I could only play that at my friend's house, but when the Beatles came out they got me that and we would even play it together! It is a series of very sweet memories playing this, me on guitar, my grandpa on drums, and my grandma singing, and probably the only time they would play video games with me besides when my grandma played Animal Crossing on gamecube. Wow. Every now and then I plug in my 360 and play this game I still love it. It’s crazy seeing how expensive the guitars have gotten overtime. I just wish the store was still a thing for the DLC songs

I think the amount of effort and love put in this game with the delightful music really made me a fan back when it first released. I think knowing my Grandfather was a fan boosted my interest back then. I just wish it got remastered with the DLC. They can have my money.

I play the game always and I never get bored. Because I can do the history, a quick play, get a new achievement, put me personal goals, etc. Because of this game this music was the first I really appreciate, concentrate and still playing day to day. Just the best Game EVER. PD: I really want to play and buy Online but apparently the servers are expired

Finally after ten years i played the game and it was fantastic, it was all that i wanted and more; and this video was amazing too. (I´m pretty much poor, so i wasn´t able to buy all the stuff to play the game, back in the day i had the guitar but just a playstation 2, so i never played the game). But god damn, it hurts so much that i missed all the DLC (i´m playing in wii). Also, i totally get that nostalgic feeling that you mention. None of the other guitar and rockband has it. I think that this game is the only plastic instrument game that you could call art because it shares a really special and unique feeling that only art could do.

I became a fan thanks to this game in summer 2010. Finally got to see Paul here in Mexico City in 2017. The Beatles mean a lot to me and are a very important part of my life. All thanks to this amazing game

I managed to FC all the songs in The Beatles Rock Band when the game became 10. Fun fact: before the game actually launched (around June to August 2009), I had my sister and my cousin get on the stage to try out the game. Both were using a guitar controller. The game also released on my birthday.

i thought i was the only one who remembered this game. my first and only rockband game i had. i havent played it in forever and lost the drum set that i had for it but still a a great game

I was never a big video game person at all. But I grew up being really into the Beatles, since I was raised on their music. I got the game around 2010-2011 when I was hardcore into my Beatlemaniac phase and obsessed over them. I would of been around 12? This whole game felt like it was crafted with such love for the Beatles and their career. The fact that this game was considered on the easier spectrum of difficulty made it absolutely perfect for me. I felt so accomplished when I'd get a good score on a song and unlock more stuff. The transitions between the different eras are so good, too. I want to also say I ADORE the opening cinematic for the game! It's packed with so many easter eggs and references. My personal favourite sequence in the game is probably the Yellow Submarine stuff, I love love love that they're wearing the outfits from the movie. Huge shoutout to Sgt Peppers in the game, the transition from them performing in the gazebo to lifting off into the sky is just..brilliant. I wish copywrite didn't remove so many of the gameplay videos from RU-vid, I used to spend hours watching them when i felt nostalgic. I got pretty emotional playing through it as well. The ending cinematic is also lovely, it definitely gives a bittersweet feeling knowing it was a send off to the end of the band.

In high school I was totally into the heavier sounding rock bands from the 70s like AC DC and Led Zeppelin and whatnot but I also knew of The Beatles and like everyone else on the planet, I knew at least a few of their songs. But when Beatles Rock Band came out right after high school, it was finally the moment that got me into the Beatles. And that led to listening to their albums and that love of their music is still there and will never go away. But for me I thank this game for being the catalyst

I vividly remember the release day too! It was amazing with the game & the remasters but it was also the countdown for when I was going to see Paul McCartney for the first time! When I was at the arena that day they had an exhibition about British music & you could play Beatles Rock Band with other attendees. I played shelter Skelter on the drums on hard & everyone was so amazed by me playing it 😂 Thanks for this video! Comparing what things were like for me then to now. It’s truly amazing & will never forget the moment I heard that this game was confirmed & everything about it 😊

On the topic of songs that didn't make it, there's a couple things they have to consider. First, the only playable options are bass, guitar, and vocals. On songs like Hey Jude and Let It Be, piano is the primary instrument. They did manage to make piano / keyboard songs work with the songs from Magical Mystery Tour, but on both of those, the guitar was playing orchestra parts. Same thing goes for songs like Eleanor Rigby, the song has many different instruments playing different melodies, none of which are a bass and guitar. She's Leaving Home is an exception, which only made it in the game because of the complete album DLC. Second, they have to be sure they can isolate each instrument in order to mute it when it's not being played well. This was tough for earlier songs in their career because they didn't have just one instrument per track. On some of the first albums, all of the instruments went on one track. If you listen to the .mogg files with all of the tracks, you can hear the artifacts of digital "de-mixing" in order to get each instrument isolated. This is the reason they did fewer from the very start, and also why songs like She Loves You and Please Please Me weren't adapted for the game. As far as Help goes, Idk man that would have been perfect for the game.

I loved Rockband at the time. Loved the drums, specifically. But I didn't appreciate the Beatles at the time. Now it's 2020 and I've been a Beatles fan for years afterword, and I'm so happy that people discovered a love for the Beatles through this game. I'm a self taught bass player now, and I still love Ringo's drums and all the rest of their roles. These guys will never die in spirit.

I love the Beatles and I love this game, sadly when I the dlc was available I was young and didn’t know about it. Now I wish I bought it when I was younger, and I’ve been looking for ways to get the dlc another way.
