The greatest guitar solo George Harrison NEVER played! What venereal disease did George give to Pattie Boyd? ....The Clapton! I was kinda hoping Prince might show up, too, but this is great! Excellent work, all!
I mean, "Never" is a strong word here. He did in fact drop solos when playing this live. Check out Live in Japan, where he plays a closer solo to the studio version than Clapton himself does!
Yes, The Beatles were generous with other people assisting with instruments on their recordings. Sir George Martin, Billy Preston, Eric Clapton, Johnny Scott, Alan Civil, Dave Mason, Chris Thompson. Also, Eric Clapton's birth name was Eric Clapp. George Harrison played on the Cream song 'Badge" which he co-wrote with Eric Clapton. George Harrison also played on many other artists recordings.
How many guitarist song writers would have the wisdom and humility to let somebody else do the solo on their masterpiece? Answer: the ones who don't care about their immortality and therefore become immortal. He asked Paul to do the solo on Taxman too and Paul created one with a homage to Eastern Music modalities. Love you George.
Paul got a bass sound on the White Album that is completely unique that he's never gotten before or since. I don't know if it was something they did in the booth or if he had a pedal or what. But he gets a sort of two octave oscillating tone or effect. And it's not every song. It's on this one plus Yer Blues and also Glass Onion. Plus maybe a couple more that I can't remember off the top of my head.
I attended george harrison's memorial service in Griffith Park 800 people came capital records played hus songs when they played my sweet lord everyone cried. Was interviewed by LA times wasso awesome gave outbooks with george and John on cover
I know eric clapton is the lead guitarist on this song but during those days eric is not popular unlike beatles so his friend george hired him to be the lead guitarist but eric got involved with the wife of george
1. This game is meant to put all the spotlight on The Beatles, it's not a biopic 2. It needs to have a permission from Clapton himself, but he probably don't want to be in the game in the first place
The same applies to John Scott who played flute on "You've Got to Hide Your Love Away". However, he did get mention on the Help ! album cover ! Also, Sir George Martin played on many of the Beatles songs but was not credited other than being the producer !
