Thanks for a great unboxing video. I got my box set today too. If you haven't already heard it, you're in for a huge surprise. It's absolutely stunning. Congrats on your 100th Beatles video. What a great way to celebrate it.
Congratulations for making the 100th Beatles video. Enjoy your purchase and lets see if you'll be opening a 100th anniversary in 50 years. I'll be 65 then.
I stood at the window waiting on Royal Mail Parcelforce, and at 10:30ish, I seen him walk into the cul da sac, I immediately ran out the front door and accosted him. He know's me so he let me sign the electronic thinga ma jiggy then ran back into my house. I saved my pennies for last 6 weeks and got the Delux plus the vinyl DBL lp. Oh and yes the UK/British lp 1st press was the one that came with the Fool inner sleeve......... It Was all my Xmas's come true. :-D Oh and yes because of time differences, I was able to get mine while it was still 3am in the North of America.....
You are one of my favorite reviewing RU-vidrs that I know of. Your videos are SO entertaining to watch, and I cant think of a single reason why anyone would hate you and send mean comments.
Got mine from Amazon today, and didn't realize how heavy it was going to be. I've already sampled the main album, loaded the entire 4-disc set onto my iCloud, put it on my iPod, and I'm going to spend some time listening to this thing. It already sounds great, but I really need to listen to the thing in its entirety. So far, I find the sound to be incredibly heavy in terms of bass and bass drum, but it's good. I can easily tell the difference in tempo here and there, and it's just a whole new, better listening experience for me. The only thing is that when I downloaded it onto my iPod, it merged it with my 2009 Remaster which I ended up having to delete so the album wouldn't be on my iPod twice. I kinda wanted to keep them on my device so I could compare them a bit, but I know I'm going to listen to the remix a lot more than the remaster. Do I like the first two tracks more than the remixes found on the Yellow Submarine Songtrack? I'm not sure. I maaaayyyyybe like that version a little more than this one, but there are some parts of the new remix that I like more. The guitar is more prominent as you say, and that's one of my favorite parts. Anyway, I look forward to what you have to say about this album after listening to it. Take care.
Thumbs up for The Beatles! More Beatles videos here: ru-vid.com/group/PL4oMVhU0MQKx2hf6sYYrvnxkBRpwIG9go P.S. I know there are a lot of Sgt. Pepper parody album covers...I was joking in the video about it.
The attention to detail on this whole set is amazing. The remix version is much more involved for the listener. I adore Lucy, it almost floats around you when you listen on headphones. I haven't had the time to really study the book, but intend to rectify that soon. Having studied music technology, the book is very much a book to take in and really soak up the information in the book. I have my mum's original vinyls here too, each bought on the first day of release. The vinyl still has the cut outs intact. The set is a family heirloom, destined to go to my daughter when she is old enough to take care of them with respect. She will be one lucky girl when she receives my collection one day too.
Got mine today as I mentioned on Facebook earlier. I've also just ordered the DVD of 'It Was 50 Years ago Today', which will be released on June 5th. It's also in selected theatres. I got the impression that the DVD/Bluray also has the original album mix as a DVD audio track. Regards, Martin Page, UK.
Whoever designed the packaging deserves an award. It's is absolutely brilliant, especially making the case look like the Sgt Pepper EMI tape box, and then having the disks contained in a reproduction of the cover, again, brilliant.
I thought my desire for this box set couldn't possibly be any greater, but having watched this video - I want it even more...!!! I will place my order in the next few days, that's for damn sure.
This was great Larry. Thanks. I share your excitement and I agree 100 percent about George Martin. Perfect for the Beatles. So glad Decca turned them down.
Thanks for the video! Picked up the CD version today to listen to it. Will probably end up getting the box set now just to get the book that comes with it.
Your excitement is contagious! I'm sampling the Pepper remix on Spotify and it's incredible! I think this mix along with the session outtakes will make Pepper the greatest album of all time once again and the inclusion of "Strawberry Fields Forever" and "Penny Lane" doesn't hurt! I love The Beatles, and I love this album! The hummed ending at the end of "A Day In The Life" is cheesy, yet amazing! Beautiful box set and can't wait for your review! :)
Yeah, the hum at the end just would not have been the same ha ha... I thought it would have turned out bad, so glad McCartney came up with a much better idea. :D
I'm so exited for you, yay! I've listened to it on Spotify and I really really liked this new remix. Looking forward to watching and hearing your thoughts
Great unboxing Larry I couldn't stretch to the De Luxe Box Set so got the 2CD set> Love the remix fabulous. I got the original release when I was 11 and it was such a thrill to listen for the first time. There is a also a nice booklet with the 2CD version as well. Looks a super box set Larry. Giles Martin has done a great job ! Enjoy
Naw, it's a beautiful song, but I think John Lennon's Imagine IS the most beautiful & greatest song EVER of all time, it's a song that defines the world.
Larry, you're just like a kid at Christmas time, glad to see you so excited and why shouldn't you be,YOU HAVE THE NEW BEATLES SGT.PEPPER BOX SET ALL READY FOR UN BOXING! ,wow, good for you Larry.I'm also really interested in hearing about how all it sounds remastered as well, looking forward to your review in a day or sol,I'm sure it will be excellent as always, thanks again Larry. P.S. I enjoyed your little Sgt'Pepper medley at the end, kind of like Alvin of the chipmunks rocking out on the Beatles, that little chipmunk has great taste, you go Alvin!,again thanks a lot Larry. Bob
*'Sgt Pepper' is the single greatest LP ever made Larry.* It is a trip in sound. I heard it when it came out (my parents bought the Beatles LP's when they came out and played them). 'Sgt Pepper's' changed the world. 'Abbey Road' did not (1969 was the year of Zeppelin/ Hendrix/ Doors/ Stone's/ Woodstock music). *All the songs are great (to me) but the song 'A day in the life' well words fail!* It may not be the most swinging LP (for me that is 'Rubber Soul') or the ultimate smorgasbord ('White Album') but the whole LP is like one long symphony of many parts. In this it is UNEQUALLED. I don't think the so called weak songs are weak, they are magic. What I want to put together is a collection of the ten best Beatles COVERS! I have two 5 star reggae covers from Sgt Peppers (Within you, without you', Lovely Rita!)
I think frank Zappa and the mothers of invention did a kind of parody of the album cover. I think that the title was we're only In it for the money. Anyway most enjoyable watching the video. Ta.
in the copy I have, on the Blu-ray disc, by the end of the song "Getting Better", the sound stops for 7 seconds and then the music does not play. Do you also have this problem?
Please do all your best to play it. Its sound is georgeous. By the way : where might I purchase White album super deluxe in Canada ?it is no longer available in Europe 😢
it's so funny that you should mention that you got the wrong package I was excited last night got mine here at home and opened it up and I thought the same thing I thought I got to take it back because I didn't want the vinyl I wanted everything else great package great video thanks
Awesome video I preorder de box set, 2cds and de vinil versions I hope they arrive early, been a fan of your beatles videos since 2012, greetings from Mexico.
This was so nice !!. I am so happy to get this as well . I thought this day would never come and here it is . Do you have a favorite track ?? So happy listening :} . Take care Larry.
Hi Larry . wow ........... I think it would pick........ The outer groove after A day in the life !!. lol :} Ok ok lol just kidding !!!! Being for the benefit of Mr. kite . With a lp like this it is hard to pick one !!!. Hay Larry if you get a chance take a look at my newest video number 89 PLEASE I am Beatle Brad I would like your professional opinion . I know that is a big word for me lol thank you so much . And I look forward to talking to later :}.
In answer to your question The Mother's of Invention did a parody of the Sgt Peppers album cover with the album We're Only In It For the Money complete with the cutouts and the words to all the songs.
I just wonder, why it's almost impossible to find a Beatle song on youtube..???? I used to have the Sgt Peppers LP... I wonder how this new mix sounds. "
Cash Huttcrater Thanks, but there's only a few albums there... like 3? (and yes, Sgt Peppers is one of them) anyway, why there's no Beatles on youtube??
carlos tejada Spotify has every Beatles album. The reason there's no Beatles videos on RU-vid is because of copyright issues. They want you to buy the music.
