Every movie about lesbian lovers seems to be the same. I swear I've seen this same movie in Carol, Ammonite, and The World to Come. Carol was great, Ammonite was meh, and the World to Come was a snooze fest. I'm going to assume they're tragic lovers that fall madly in love with each other but by the end circumstance pulls them apart.

The indie scene got a lot of romcom sapphic movies as well like Crush, But I'm a Cheerleader, Saving Face, DEBS, Bound etc. Also Hallmark happy lesbian movies like Friends & Family Christmas, Love Classified, Every Time a Bell Rings etc. to name a few..

I have seen it, and it is very disappointing. Nothing happens between the two women, and the end is weird. It is actually very slow and annoying

Apparently movie makers are still decades behind the population. At best this movie could be seen as a reminder how bad things used to be for queer people, in the real world nowadays it's done differently. In the world I live in queer couples are cherished, supported and encouraged, latest when they abandon their religious and homophobic families and I wouldn't want it any other way.

@@ricardosantos6721 There's nothing wrong with making movies about a minority and their problems. Just the percentage of movies around queer topics that show this minority relative to the percentage of movies that show todays reality is way off. It's getting better, there are ever more movies coming out showing the modern reality, just decades after we needed them. If they are now making movies because it's about a minority, then where were the movies about queer stories with happy endings while those were a minority in real life?

Hard to read complaints when there are so few lesbian movies to begin with. Photography and music are utmost important to me. Snooze fest would be one more saccharin hallmark heterosexual movie. In the meantime I’ll watch Carol until another masterpiece comes along. 💜💕💜
