How does a cross country flying day look like? Here are some outtakes from my beautiful 150 km flight over the Alps. Enjoying the views, working in turbulent thermals, chatting with friends, climbing in the last thermal of the day... 8 hours of pure joy!

Nice flight! though we're not used to seeing you that high. Usually you're low enough to hold a conversation with the squirels :p

Nice joke, I liked it 😅 Actually, I prefer to fly high (often too high), but sometimes I have to scratch the slopes and talk to the squirrels. But all the videos about me flying high would be totally boring, I think 😂

What a wonderful flight! Heated gloves?

Yes, of course - heated gloves! It is still a bit cold at that altitude in spring.

Thank you, when do you use the speed bar?
@dymanoid
@dymanoid Год назад
In general, when I fly a straight line and not too close to terrain, I push at least half bar. In strong sink, I push 80% or full bar depending on how turbulent the air is. It's a bit more complicated, but these are the two most important points.

@DaveT Please don't learn from youtube videos! This can be dangerous. If you have questions, better ask your instructor or experienced pilots you know. Book a progression course and learn in this way. Join a paragliding meetup or a local club. It's much more efficient end safe than asking questions on youtube!
