I really love this advice. Being older and still trying to get life in tune with God's purpose is difficult for me. I need to really learn how to forgive myself for mistakes made and move into God's purpose. Remembering that He has not forgot me and that my past makes me who I am today. Thank you for your continued work. You are a blessing to women young and older.

Having compassion towards my younger self has been something I have had a difficult time with. Understanding Jesus’ love for me at my lowest and darkest times has been especially hard for me. I appreciate y’all for talking about this today! God bless you amazing ladies always! 💖🙏🏼🙌🏽

I love when you said ...”and love her” because as a 24 year old woman I feel as though I’m transitioning as well I no longer have the urge too engage in what I use too engage in or even entertain it for that matter however I do understand who I was and who I’m becoming is all still my identity as you stated so instead of shunning the old me I embrace her but with newer knowledge & with understanding. Because I am who I am and though I may not be a specific way anymore I’ll never turn my head up too who I use too be because it is forming me into who I am becoming now.

Thank you so much. I was just talking with my therapist yesterday about comparing my past to who I am now and she clearly said it's not bad thinking of your former self you just know that you are not her anymore. Pastor Sarah, I totally connect with you on understanding who I was back then and why I made the choices that I made. I was a broken little girl and attracted a broken man. I am no longer that version anymore but I understand why I did a lot of the things that I did. This is confirmation, I would get frustrated because I wanted to leave the old me behind but now realize that it's all of my story and made me who I am today. Thank you for being who you are🙂

My phone does memories from the past and every morning and I used to hate seeing me as a parent back then. But when I tell you I have been smiling and showing her so much compassion these days. I love how the Lord puts things like this video in my path to show me I’m headed in the right direction! I have been screaming for a map lately. 😂🥹I thank God for yal. ❤️

Oh wow! That just broke me down. I’m so hard on my teen self thru my 20’s. Being a mom since 18. Thank you for showing me that it’s so important to give that young baby self grace & forgiveness. And to praise God for all He brought me through. Parents & grandparents that physically supported me but condemned & convicted me and shunned me for years. And at any moment they weren’t happy with me were quick to condemn me for that over & over again. And my child’s father that abandoned us. I can’t imagine how in the world I did all that I did at that age. But God! He walked with me He affirmed me. And gave me a precious child (she’s almost 30 now) and she has a beautiful faith and is such an amazing human. What a blessing

The big sisters I never had. They are so powerful and understanding. "I get her.. I get why she made the choices she did at that time. I have compassion for her."

Sometimes I really wish I could go back to all the versions of myself the past 10 years and just give all those young women THE BIGGEST HUG! After beginning my journey of healing, one thing I never paid attention to was being intentional about loving my old self. Usually when I talk about my past I highlight all the mistakes and filth🥺 But those women were going through something and didn't know what I know today. I needed to be reminded to love my old selves. I needed to be reminded to extend grace to my old selves. I believe in order to heal it's imperative that I do. Thank you so much sisters❤️

This so true, I love this so much because this is what God told me, to forgive and love the past me. He told me the reason why I did what I used to do and my therapist taught me to be compassionate with the past me. Although, now in my new (new) life in Christ I have felt the guilt of leaving the faith for 4 years but I believe if I did not I would have never developed a relationship with him as before hand I was religious only so. So it all prepared me for the moment I really met him and now I can’t go bck but I have love and compassion for who I was and even though I am still a bit mad at who I was at times, I forgive me. After forgiving others I let in because of poor or non existent boundaries. So you two gave the best advice. We need to love all of who we were and are ❤️💯

Being able to be part of the world listening to a fun song without being led by it is something most people are shamed away from and I think it made my walk much harder in my 20s. Thank you for being real and giving within the frame of what God wants for us, grateful for your message today

I am still dealing with this. I have hated my younger self so much that I stay away from people that knew me then. I am so ashamed of her BUT i am trying to understand her.
