Guys, an e-book called "Mastering the 20m beep test" helped me significantly. There is a 7-week workout plan to help you prepare for the beep test. I've recommended 'Mastering the 20m Beep Test' to all my friends prepping for fitness assessments. From level 8.5 to level 10.8 took me 3 weeks... The workout plan is tough but effective-I've never felt more prepared!
I went from 8.2 to 9.8 with these tips: 1) don't run past the line. Ever. Just touch it with one foot. 2) don't run/wait on the early levels. Just jog slow. 3) alternate turning legs. Assign one leg per line.
True. In my class we did it in groups so we have space to run and kaden and Kieran kept shouting me these things along with breath as you step but that came when I was getting to stage 10. Even with that though it can’t last you forever since I only got to 11-1
I always got so nervous, I tried to catch up with the fast kids at my school but ended up feeling so dizzy and I thought I was gonna spew- also the fact when you sit down after you finish you can’t even breath properly anymore It was so traumatising, the beep used to scared me lmao
Sometimes I listen to this just to have horrific flashbacks to fitness testing in P.E. in high school. I actually love sports and I didn't mind other aspects of the testing e.g. agility testing, grip strength, etc., but this was Hell. One time, my bus broke down on the way to school and so I missed Beep Test day and that was one of my greatest memories
@@ryanbickerto that's very true, but I think doing it with my classmates is more stress inducing 😂 I don't mind it so much when I've tested on my own and there's less eyes in the room haha
I have to do this three times a year xD And I only do a lot of physical during the summer when not at school so I pretty much get the same result every time. Oh well, I don't care enough haha.
Walking into gym class walking in excited for a new lesson and then hearing your teacher say you're doing the bleep test is like the worst feeling ever😫
My school graded on improvement, and we did this test 3 times a year, so for the first 2 I would intentionally drop out of it right away and the last one I would do better than the first 2 and still not run that much... got perfect marks for it cuz I "improved" lol. Still hate this so much though omg
I never did this in school, but thought it would be a cool challenge to take on in recent days, as well get me to do some cardio while in lockdown. (I luckily have a big enough driveway to cover the 20m distance) 24/04/2020, I scored a 4 and was trying not to faint from lack of breath. Yesterday, 21/06/2020, I scored a 7.7 with a stitch brewing on my side, and a huge smile on my face😁 I’m now aiming to make it to level 8🌺
@@jackhayes4272At 13 I got a 10. 5 but recently now weighing 120kg (age 25) and mostly weightlifting in recent years I got a 5.4 almost dying. You'll find most people cardio drops as they get older
Fam I was doing my own bleep test where I had to jump a chair on the way and forgot the chair was ther cause I was looking at the ground and fucking ran into it
Back at secondary school, we were pretty excited and wanted to go first. I kid you not, one of those times, I had like 8 girls cheering me on. And All I got was 5.3 that time. Funny thing is, I actually have a running machine at home, meaning if I did bleep test nowadays, I would definitely get more than 5.3. So ironic, years later down the line. But hey, 5.3 is like 4:38 minutes into the video.
Worth noting people that if you measure it even a meter short or long you can make this test very easy or very hard. At 18m, instead of 20m, you can easily gain an extra two levels on your score. Likewise making it even slightly too long will lower your score substantially.
This was killer. Some obviously had shorter distances than others judging by the comments lolol but yea. I was an athlete and I even dreaded doing this.... between cross country, diagonals and road run, this beast broke souls 😅😅😅
Yesterday I failed. 50 years of age, 184 cm height, 113 kg weight. I runned to level 5.1 (which is minimum required to pass the test) but the instructor said that I couldn't have kept the rhythm after 3.1. I have 90 days till next phisical aptitude test. No excuses, just training.
I’m a wing back in football ⚽️ and my position requires very high levels of stamina so I do this weekly individuals to see my improvement thanks for posting it you’ve helped me out allot
Bro, I'm about to do it today. I'm a right winger and my position requires a lot of stamina. But to be honest being a wing back is a lot harder. Hope it's going well man
Would you like to start at level 7 then ? Level one is like the warm up. Without it, you won't last very long...well your muscles won't stay happy for long.
Hated this fucking thing. I was always good a short distance sprinting but not long distance shit. At my school, we couldn't even stop when we wanted - our teachers would tell us when we could. Bastards.
Just did it before in my backyard. I got 12.2. I'm going to do the beep test everyday over the next 6 week holiday, to try and improve my fitness. Today is day 6. On day 1 I got 7.3. Training and hardwork pays off. And I am aiming for a 20 in the next 6 weeks.
My first beep test I got 8.4 and the year after that was my second beep test and I got 11.10 but I would've of gotten 13.03 if my god them PE teacher did not tell me to stop doing it
Can the introduction please be changed from "it will start in 5sec" to "it will start in 8.06 seconds". I'm getting a lot of false starts with my class. Thanks
I'm 15 and I did this at home and got to level 7.1 I know it's not great but last time I got 4.6 I really improved (I'm good with speed but I can't run for long periods of time)
A few weeks ago my class had to do this and this boy in my class is such a fast runner and he’s a year younger than us (we’re in year 6) and he got like 17. Sumn and I wasn’t surprised cause he have such sporty people at my school and I’m not that sporty cause I got 3.4 and did so bad and like omg I hate the beep test. Also I improved kinda from like term 2 or 1 idk ☹️
Beep test each day i made sure i went up at least one number higher than the last day, doing this purely to improve my fitness, don’t judge how bad my starting point is....updating each day results from doing it everyday : Day 1- 6.1 Day 2- 8.1 Day 3- 8.2 Day 4- 9 Haven’t done it for a few weeks I’m on holidays lol Finally did the test again, my fitness is not good however yesterday i played futsal all day so im still fatigued and sore but pushed through to get my day 5 result of: Day 5- 8.3 Day 6- 7.3 not great at all just got back from an athletics carnival all day lol
Tips: Don’t loop/go past the line. Touch one foot on it. Breathe in your nose and out your mouth. Swing your arms. *DO NOT RUN/SPRINT AT THE EARLY LEVELS (1-5 or something). SAVE YOUR ENERGY FOR THE HIGHER ONES.
I remember doing this in PE class and I was competing with my nemesis who happened to be the last 2 standing and I JUST beat him by one level. Yup. Damn right I was a p**y magnet that day.
Personally love it too, a fun challenge , pumps adrenaline into your blood and improves your running skill. everyone at my school despise it apart from my boyfriend and me lol
Oh so am I the only one who was excited for the beep test to show off my skills but also agonizing over it because my legs were gonna be on fire and I’d have to keep up pretending I was in shape
I don’t like the suffering but it teaches us to push through it becuase nothing you want to achieve is going to be easy. I also like the simplicity of tracking
I did like 5.6 I think on my last fitness test in Cadets. I was within the last 5 people (sad right) but the kid who ended up being last went to like 8 or something, the weird thing was, he was the new quiet kid and I think he got embarrassed when the whole squadron started to cheer him on lol. Worst part is when I asked him how often he works out he was like "only in gym class when I have to".
