Ah man, it's crazy coming back to this video like almost 10 years later. It was the explanation of the different hops and the color coded visuals that did it for me.

I Gotta say, thank you for making this video. I've always liked KOF, but it's such a hard game for me to get into, I guess I couldn't get the "feel" to the game. Now I'm going to try playing 02um again and might try 98um as well, so thanks!

thank you for this video it made me understand a lot of things tho my problem is there seems to be a lot of special moves which are not punishable on block (or im dumb im talking about '97) and its so hard to get pressure on knocked down opponents I always get thrown when I try meaty C or D with kyo what should I be doing instead?
What does the meter do and what is the difference between Advanced and Extra?? I know how to goddamn jump from playing Melee and Street Fighter 2' Hyper Fighting (also Accent Core Plus R, Skullgirls, 3rd Strike, etc). How do you get past Billy's 5m long stick??
In this context, it's conditioning your opponent to stay on defensive and try to block because they expect you to attack immediately rather than try to counter attack.

Nothing important. At 2:35 the og vid made a joke about how complicated all these different hops were with all their different names and it says "gay" in it so it is extremely offensive to people born after 2005
