A bumper 38 minute vlog following Thomas & Daniela's move from the U.K. 🇬🇧 to Taveuni Island, Fiji 🇫🇯. I promise future videos will be shorter and posted every 2-6 weeks. There was just so much to cover in the first installment 😆
Follow the journey, selling up 🏚, leaving jobs 🙋🏻, moving off grid as far from home as possible! There are many adventures to come with our pets by our sides 🐕🐕🐈🐈‍⬛🐈
We bought a house on Taveuni Island, Fiji - the house and land requires major renovation, TLC and nurturing 🫂 💙

Parrot mango💛 And cassava I could see 🙂 Careful to prepare it correctly as it contains "'forms of cyanide"' suggested to prepare it by peeling(discard peel) grate it and soak in water and and rinse until water is clear and boil/ cook well Or soak peeled chunks in water, rinse and boil/ cook well

I have seen a "'fridge"' made for hot climates as two large terracotta/clay pots with lid with wet sand in between the two pots in a well shaded place with airflow as an evaporative cooler, might even make the surrounding room cooler It wasn't mentioned but I imagine the inner pot should possibly be glazed🤔 so your food doesn't get wet

Did u buy your place thru stephen? By the way, I love your tall cathedral-ceiling high pitched roof. Creates a lovely ambience, and u have a generous sized garden acreage.

Yes, we bought through Noble Realty. The inside vaulted ceiling is lovely, all needs re-varnishing, but that can wait until bedroom, kitchen and bathroom are redone. We have an acre which is more than ample atm and no immediate neighbours which is nice. Let us know how you get on with your place, sounds 👌

So pleased that I've discovered your vlog. I lived in Suva in the 1970s when my dad was teaching. Been back a couple of times for holidays when I spent time on Taveuni. My favourite place. Now retired and living in Gloucestershire.

I’ve been to Fiji and spent 2/3 months there and it’s very beautiful.(I travelled all over)How much did you pay for your place and is it just a long lease? Don’t all the locals own the land ? I’d love to have a go at what you’re doing 😊….I’m from Dorset area originally but am overseas for some time now . I’m glad I found your videos …. Between £50-£75k, Thomas loves a bargain 🤣 We own the freehold, only 5% of land in Fiji is freehold and it is the only freehold in the South Pacific. We were Dorset for 20+ years, Thomas is a Somerset boy. No to rental accommodation, finish the renovation, hoping to complete the bathroom this week 😁 and then enjoy an early retirement with lots of hiking and fishing 😆

Love this! We’ve just returned from Taveuni last week and fell in love. We’ve visited Fiji 6 times, going again in 4 weeks! This time to the Yasawas, we are actively looking at buying property and moving to either Yasawas or Taveuni, so funny that I stumbled across your vlog just now! Can’t wait to watch your adventure 🌴🌴

I'm so glad to see this again... Was watching, but then got too busy. Was going to try and look up your vid again, but here it is before me ---good timing. Have bought a place on Taveuni, myself. Should be settling on it in about a month. Did u buy thru Stephen Noble of "noble realty" who specializes in Taveuni? I'm truly delighted with my awesome beautiful well-built solid concrete house, just across the rd from the sea/rainbow reef.
