Sorry to see you still have the carpenter bees. A few fun facts about them, they mate during the spring, when a female mates she drills holes into the wood to create a nest for herself. The males will fly around and guard the nest from other males. Typically if you see other dead carpenter bees in the area (that you haven’t killed) it’s because the males have fought to the death and the one on the ground lost.
