This game has preoccupied me for over 5 years, and I'm so grateful to finally share it. Not least so because I was able to record this huge, ambitious score with my beloved Hollywood studio musicians here in LA, at the Warner Brothers scoring stage. It's been over a decade since I was able to do that for a game score, so this was a very special experience.
Much more to come on this one!

Looks like i'm going to have a new ost to become obsessed with... the 5/4 bars with the delayed hit of the brass chords is soooooo nice. Something so warm and comforting about floating in the air with the melody and the suddenly having the ground rush up to meet you with those chords. Excellent work Maestro

Am I imagining it or did you let yourself be inspired by Thomas Newman's way of orchestrating and harmonizing? Either way it worked out beautifully!

I love Tom Newman's work but I wouldn't say that he played any active part in inspiring this score. But I suppose it could be subconscious?

@@awintory I love that fine line Newman can walk between consonance and dissonance, and I see that in this piece too. It doesn't at all detract from the optimism of the music, it's not that kind of dissonance. And other than Newman's work I see very few examples of this exact kind of use of it. Very well done!
