KIRKEKLOKKENS REJSE
I Ansgar Kirke år 860 hænger en helt særlig kirkeklokke, som blev til og kom til Ribe alene pga. en uvurderlig indsats fra en stor gruppe frivillige ildsjæle med tilknytning til Ribe VikingeCenter. Fortællingen om klokken er en hyldest til deres engagement, venskab, eventyrlyst og kærlighed til historien.
Ansgar Kirke blev bygget i 2016-2017 og indviet i maj 2018. Kirken står på Ribe VikingeCenter, hvor den kan besøges. Den indgår i formidlingen af vikingetidens Ribe, hvor biskop Ansgar i midten af 800-tallet fik kongens tilladelse til at opføre en kirke. Ved Ribe Domkirke, som står i centrum af byen Ribe i dag, har arkæologerne udgravet Danmarks ældste kristne grave, hvilket understøtter, at der godt 100 år før, at Harald Blåtand rejste Jellingestenen, var en kristen menighed i og omkring Ribe.

THE JOURNEY OF THE CHURCH BELL
In the Ansgar Church 860 AD in Ribe VikingeCenter is a very special church bell. Only because of a huge effort from a large group of volunteers with affiliation to the centre, could this particular bell be made and brought to Ribe. The story of the bell is a tribute to their dedication, friendship, love of adventure and of history.
The Ansgar Church was built in 2016-2017 and consecrated in May 2018. It is part of Ribe VikingeCenter and the historical interpretation of Viking Ribe. In the middle of the 9th century, the king gave bishop Ansgar the permission to build the first church in Ribe.
