The church was re-built between 1849-1851 and was based upon plans by the wonderful Victorian and Gothic-revivalist architect, William Butterfield. The church tower was added later 1914-1915 replacing it's medieval forebear.
Some of the bells were clearly transferred from that tower to this. A ring of 6, four bells cast by J, C & W Pennington in 1779 (treble, 3rd, 5th & Tenor), the 2nd cast by William Blews of Birmingham in 1878 and the 4th re-cast by Gillett & Johnston in 1915, that is at the same time they re-hung the whole peal in a new cast iron H frame with all new ringing fittings and tuned them.
The bells were notorious for mis-clappering, especially 5th and Tenor but this has recently (2019) been sorted by Taylors of Loughborough. Tenor - 10-2-9 in F#
Ringers in this video from Treble to Tenor - Nick Trout, Natasha Trout, Angie Trout, David Crocker, Ryan Trout, Roger Trout.
