Swanage, Dorset, 8-Bells, 22-0-24cwt in E.
The bells of Swanage can best be described as a Jurassic Coast "Classic". Cast predominantly by John Taylor & Co and overhauled in 1940, these bells sound majestic cascading over the sea-side town. Although challenging to strike well, especially the trebles, the effort is nonetheless worthwhile. Watch them being rung by the Devon Wednesday Evening Ringers Association, November 2019.
"Mash-Up" footage in this instance starts with the 8-bells being risen in peal, this is then followed by a series of outside/inside recordings and concludes by showing the bells being lowered in peal.

I really like these, rung them a couple of times before, lovely to hear them, they sound superb outside, especially when the 7th is leading! Great stuff as normal

Most Excellent. 7 Minutes of Glory !! Get extra locks on the door so those running the marshal law don't come in and cut the ropes.

I heard these bells ring very briefly when I stayed at the Near by School (Purbeck View School) for a church parish holiday as this can be seen clearly from the hill the school sits on. I never rung them because I was too young to ring bells at this time. There were times I wanted to revisit Swanage. I certainly will not be able to ring bells now as I am not in a fit state to ring.
