I absolutely adore this subtropical tree, i grow it in Attica GR 🇬🇷 and eat it, i make a drink from the leaves called agua de chaya, water of chaya. It's drought tolerant, easy to propagate and a superfood. Highly recommend to grow it.
Do you also plant Moringa as its a superfood and a drought tolerant plant with edible leaf - Flowers - green Pods and dry seeds. Pumpkin leaf and sweet Potato leaf is also very nutritious. Even Banana stem and Banana flower and green Jackfruit.
Not for human consumption but it seems Gliciridia would be nice also Grows fast, wood can be used for fuel or wicker, leaves for feeding livestock and insect repellant, green manure, etc. I've seen a vid of a project somewhere in Africa growing them.
