This was growing wild in my front yard in Kentucky and I just figured out that’s what it is so I’ve been doing research on it. It is so exciting to me to see something so beneficial is growing wild right outside and it tastes amazing.
Hope you've been enjoying it since.. you can freeze it, dry it so you always have on hand. It can be brewed for hot tea and well as juice, eaten fresh as a wrap , in salads etc online you can find many Asian recipes using it.
Your video came to me at the perfect time! I’m harvesting all types of herbs and cold brewing technique will be perfect. I just subscribed to your channel!
I grow green shiso in my yard and am making tea with it fresh, right now! :-D Both green and purple perilla/shiso grow wild in many parts of the US. If you forage and bring some mature seeds back to your property, it's extremely easy to propagate.
My wife and I bought our first home out in the country in the Piedmont area of NC. I was weedeating around the mailbox, and noticed a minty smell coming from the weeds I was weedeating. I looked down, and noticed that it looked like mint. I scanned it with my plant app, and sure enough, perilla! I looked around, and noticed that it was growing everywhere in the woods around the house, and in ludicrous amounts in our neighbor’s pasture. I’ve been putting it in my daily smoothie, and throw it in salads. Super excited to have found it, especially after discovering the health benefits! I didn’t know it was made into tea, but I’m definitely going to start drying leaves for a tea mix! Thanks for the awesome video! Side note: does anyone know if the stalks are consumable in addition to the leaves? I don’t want to waste valuable plant parts that could potentially be used.

Welcome back, long time no see ;-) Happy to see that you still make your own videos, was wondering what happened to you when I saw you on JP's episodes... Thank you!
I'm still here! Haha. Yeah I have been slow with RU-vid but there are lots more videos to come. I actually work full time for JP. So I am quite busy with a lot of things but I always want to make RU-vid videos
"What if we took it every day when we aren't sick?" Though I do somewhat agree and do that myself, be a little careful as there are some herbs you cannot and should not take daily or over a certain amount of time (ie: more than 2 weeks or 4 weeks). Though I'm sure YOU know this, you have to be extra careful because I guarantee a LOT of your viewers don't.
I too always or at 95 Drink cold teas, coffe etc..there is more flavors and content in them..I love nettles, yarrow freschly picked...I haven't tried shoso yet but intend to. Thanks for the good video👍
I've got a garden full and I make my own tea. It's not hard to find at all. There are plenty of sources for shiso seeds to grow your own leaves and make your own tea.
