The Irish Guy takes a look at Karim Benzema and N'Golo Kante making two of the biggest transfers of the summer... the same week Lionel Messi has left PSG for Inter Miami. Business enquiries: irishguybusiness@gmail.com
I can understand Benzema going, Kanté is still not that old and could probably do well in like France or something for a couple more years before going
In what world does Benzema not already have his family set for multiple lifetimes? He was in Real for 14 years and I can assure you he was not living off a minium wage.
True. It's amazing how quickly people can forget negative things about celebrities. Reminds me of when Harry Styles used to spit on his fans from high atop his hotel balcony, and the media just underplayed it
guy’s won almost everything there is to win to be honest. why not? he can relax and still do what he loves. sheesh if I was offered that much I’d do what’s best for me and my family. still sucks to see him go as I grew up watching him 😢
I don't mind players ending like that but what I hate is when they insult our intelligence with quotes like "I didn't come here for money at all. I'm just passionate about the football project here"
@@brandonayong5823 They are contractually obliged to say that, like any club employee ever. Have you ever heard a coach or a player be genuine in an interview?
Every single day this dude will earn more money than some people that live somewhat comfortably will make in years I genuinely cannot comprehend this level of money, the guy can literally buy a brand new Mercedes every single day, every single hour he can buy a really good vacation, and every single minute he can have a 5-star meal, how do you even spend that much money? Genuinely, I want to know lol
The man is THIRTY-FIVE. Most professionals at the highest level (apart from the elite freaks) retire by then. He’s about to set his great-great-great-great grandchildren for life. Let him live!
He was making peanuts at Real Madrid, lol? Like, I'm not entirely sure I think a multimillionaire becoming even more rich of a multimillionaire is something you need to stick your neck out to defend. Sure, he can get his money, but he's not going to shag you for twerking for him
@@AK-bj6fk Why do you feel such a need to defend a footballer who wouldn't care if you got crushed by a bus? I wasn't attacking him, I was saying I don't give a fuck and a man with more wealth than all of us put together will ever see, earning millions more, is nothing to really celebrate. I don't hold that against him, but the fact that we live in a world where a state can throw hundreds of millions into employing an entertainer just because they can (or, to futher economic or PR ends) should make you angry. Especially when within that country, economic inequality is extreme. Again, not his fault, I would take it, but it's not a wholesome story of a poor boy ensuring that his family can eat or something.
Honestly it makes sense for the likes of Ronaldo and Benzema. There's only so much more they could possibly achieve so why not take a 9-figure retirement package when offered. Kante is a bit different as he is younger but he's had injury problems and if he thinks it's going to start affecting his ability to play at a high level in Europe I can see it. He's also already won league titles, the UCL and World Cup so there's only so much he will do between now and retirement.
Got to remember that Kante's injuries aren't going away, they will get worse given the way he plays. Clubs that wanted him in Europe would know this and offer him less than what hes on at Chelsea, the Saudi's came him and offered him a massive pay rise.
@@danielwillemsen9602f he would have went to U.S for money, people would have called it passion. But since he went to middle east, it's because for money. Interesting to see this self superiority complex in westerners like you.
Irish Guy, it will raise the standard of football everywhere if the middle east can have the top footballers world wide wanting to live in their country eventually top players will get to play in their competitions and that will make other players raise their game
Tbh the Saudi league has been taking players from top leagues for a while, even before the CSL has that splash for a while. The only thing different is that they’re offering more money than before
No he didnt. If you accept money from murderers to try and help them look good in public, then your not a good person and your just helping them to keep killing. This isnt a tricky debate. MURDER. these people will kill you for not agreeing with them. not in a jokey way. like they actually commit murder and torture and kidnapping to get what they want. The Glazers and Mike Ashley and any other crappy terrible owner is usually evil greedy capitalist pig dogs. they have so much money and now they want yours. greedy horrible people. hey but at least they never actually have people chopped into little bits. Newcastle fans, i love you. but your club should burn to the ground now. Kante, i loved you. but i hope you break your leg and your house is hit by lightning. If i have to hear one more person talk about the Saudi regime as if its not common public knowledge that they kidnap, torture and murder people im gonna scream. Messi and Beckham have taken the murderers blood money and yet we keep pretending they are good people. Anthony Joshua, Eddie Howe, all the golfers, all the tennis players. Scum. All of them. They could just be filthy rich and still have their integrity. but no, they want more money. they are so greedy that they will smile next to murderers for photo ops if you pay them enough cash. Disgusting.
The good thing is that the standard of football will definitely be raised in the middle east with all these players coming in, and its not a bad thing, and if one thinks that way then they seriously cant comprehend the bigger picture about how this benefits football
Even if people weren't fine with it , what can they do , two players who are either in the backend of their career or are too injured to play consistently that have already achieved just about everything at club level
I just want to show some love to whoever designed the Irish guy's RU-vid banner it's so insanely sexy (aesthetically). So damn clean. Just two corners and the Irish guy dribbling with a ball and the iconic scarf. Much love to whoever designed it, and if it was Michael himself, hats off ❤
People do the lottery in hopes they will win the mega draw and get 100m meanwhile benzema has to compete against former championship players to get that a year😂
For anyone wondering, the signings are meant to grow football in saudi, with the plan being to then sell the clubs to public investors, like how the prem clubs are ran.
But why? Investors buy into football to make money. How can a club make money when just one players wages cost 100 times more than the clubs entire year long match day revenue? How many shirts and tickets are they going to have to sell before making back what benzeme has cost them alone?
@@NeilLewis77 It's the government of Saudi Arabia's plan to diversify their economy. Why do you think they signed a deal with WWE to have shows over there? Football is their next outlet.
@@akshay_9146 yes I know what sports washing is and why they are doing it. My point is why give kante and benzeme more money than the club could ever make? There not the best players anymore so arnt worth it. It shows the club to be just a billboard and not serious about running it properly. And it doesn't work. I haven't forgotten all the horrible things that they do because they have bought kante. In fact it just draws attention to all their crimes against humanity. Non of this is going to attract new investors and turn the league into anything good. They are making the exact same mistakes as the Chinese did. Laughable joke of a regime that should all be in jail.
These both have won everything and had a tremendous career (obviously benzema's was way better) but they have nothing left to prove and at the tail end of their career it's perfect to end their career in country that has same religious beliefs as them so it must be easier for them and their families plus with this amount of money their generations would be settled for life and I know Kante does a lot of charity work so I expect this helping people from his native country too
If I was already an insanely rich footballer who'd won everything, no I wouldn't legitimise a regime with a horrid human rights record. Have some humility
There is absolutely nothing wrong with these 2 wanting to go to Saudi. They’re at the back end of their careers and it’s not uncommon for Muslim players to end their careers in Muslim countries, hence the amount of Muslim Europeans that flock to Turkey as well as the Middle East. Why not move to a Muslim country where they’ll easily adapt, all the while earning the money to sort their family out for life? Smart move from the players
Benzema's deal literally included a clause mentioning no taxes. Allegedly. And picking what club he'd like to play for. In other words, this contract was offered by the Saudi Arabian Government itself. Apparently Kante got similar terms on his deal.
I love that Saudi think they are gonna be the new La liga and prem, but the reality is they are the MLS for world class player that want a pay rise they wouldn’t get in a million years
Saudi Arabia signing high level Muslim players is very clever since it will be alot easier for them to adapt to the culture. Great place to retire and be mega rich before retirement😮
A naughty naughty boy is an understatement. At least with his new wages he won't be trying to blackmail his team mates. Also whatever him and Ribery get up to in their spare time, they can invite Gylfi Sigurdsson over for a weekend...
Imma big madrid fan cuz of mourinho, benz, c.ronaldo, marcelo, pepe, asensio of the last era rodrygo, valverde and camavinga in present era. If the guys listed first went saudi. Im not fussin nor fretting, but the latter imma be dissapointed.
Players going to the Saudi league for one last pay day before they retire makes sense. But, if a player like Mbappe chose to head there before he's even turned 30 would be a foolish decision and would show he's only motivated by money and not a desire to establish himself as one of the best players of all time
I feel like one key issue that non-European leagues like MSL, Saudi League and the Chinese Super League have is that, when they do manage to get super stars, they're usually wasted potentials, or huge players at the end of their career. If they sign a superstar that is actually in his prime, then things would be different
The Saudi craze will just go the same way as the Chinese Super League. The quality of the league is too poor to keep up and maintain this interest. Even Ronaldo's matches now have half full stadiums.
@@onsant1namaleynko8129 do you think only Europeans and south Americans care about football they have passionate fans their as well football is the most popular sport in the Arab world
@@poptraxx418 I mean, put Ronaldo to play in any country in Europe and he'd fill the stadiums week in week out. Meanwhile currently the stadiums there are half empty.
The kids in the comments don’t understand, he’s already made way over 50 million over his career, earning 14 million a year at Madrid then chose hundreds of millions just to play football in a boring rich league. If I was him I’d keep playing at Madrid the best team ever and keep earning 14 million.
Crazy all the teams spending hundreds of millions for superstars that are 35+ (Ronaldo, Messi, benzema, who knows who’s next) they set up their family for life with the contract and just have to finish out their career without having to sweat it that much
Don't be fooled, inter Miami offered a lot as well Apparently he will get: -Property in Miami -Stocks in Apple and Adidas -A 60m euro a year salary -An Apple TV show about Argentina winning the world cup -He will become an investor in Inter Miami (with stocks in the club) The dude will get sure ways to make millions upon millions once he retires, like this deal does not entail only his professional career but his retirement as well
@@gabsnandes7818 Messi’s deal is more permanent long term value especially with him coming to MLS his stock values are going to skyrocket and then as the MLS develops and improves it’ll only get better for him and his family
He didn't. He'll earn twice that in Miami. Only difference between him and cr7 is that one signed a business deal and the other signed a footballing contract only
I hate the Saudi league. They could've spent that much money improving their infrastructure and youth systems, but nooooo. Instead of long term success, they'd rather sign over the hill players that couldn't care for the club
irish guy getting offended by the saudis doing the same thing clubs like city and Real have been doing all along but just on a bigger scale is ironic, why the double standards?
