The BEST $200 IEM I've heard 💎 (SIMGOT EA1000 Review vs Nova, EM6L, EA500 & more)

@@jayyaudio It could be an artifact of the rather broad resonance peak width, assuming that the used 711 couplers can be considered identical. It seems Aftersound moved it to slightly higher frequency compared to Chris's 8khz positioning (not sure why but everyone can have reasons for this, for instance Michael Bruce decreases cavity volume and places the IEM extremely close to the mic in order to eliminate the peak itself). Hence, it might be more correct to deduct the peak by eye and compare, although this will still need actual testing by ear as some IEMs have components of actual peak (e.g. Moondrop S8) under the coupler peak. I have never measured this so I cannot be sure, but some big DD IEMs show multiple coupler resonances as well (not only the usual 8khz suspect). The most notorious example will be Sony EXK. If you see a 711 graph, there will be numerous narrow peaks starting from 5.7khz region. Among them the 5.7khz is the only relevant peak and the rest are dependent on the insertion depth, kinda like the treble of Z1R people often discuss. I wonder if that could result in the near-air region difference between the EA1000 graphs. This raises a personal curiosity of mine if EA1000 might be a bit fit dependent as well although it doesn't seem like a spike festival like some Sonys. My guess is that just looking at the graph, it is hard to determine at this point. If we translate the 8k and the last peak from Chris's graph slightly above, I think it may reasonably match with Aftersounds. When it comes to DDs, the significant differences are usually seen in below 1khz region, usually with the implementation quality of the venting as the major factor. A good example can be Tin Hifi type of shells, where components are assembled on a ring and sandwiched between the nozzle and backplait. If there happen to be a discrepancy there, a gap or screw force difference, well that's a QC issue (Regarding the assembly method, the only high-rate possiblity failing point for EA1000 seems to be the nozzle attachment). At least in this department, the two graphs do not seem far apart. (The only time I had trouble with treble was JVC FD01. Not only that one of the rotating shell was loose resulting in

No just put it on top of the nozzle. 500mesh + Gold is only for high volume listening. If you listen at a regular volume try 300 mesh

Facts

EA1000 is better - vocals aren’t fully extended on the P8 because the gain is reduced

The rings changes the sound a bit, but mesh filters and sponges have more of an effect

These have better bass texture and timbre for me

Variations have smoother uppermids yes, better? Idk, but ya l, agreed with the Galileo

Any will work depending on your own ear size. I like Chopin better, but Nova would be #2

It's not actually that bright - I think it's just Chris' graph. Tonedeafmonk and Aftersound's squigs are closer to what I'm hearing. It's like a Crin Red but with a little more.

EM6L is wayyyyy more relaxed.

Check the ranking list, EA1000->Chopin->Quintet for me they’re all around the same tech. EA1000 most natural, Chopin best all rounder.

Exactly. I love the EA500 but always crave for a little more bass. The EA1000 could be my next iem if it had bass quantity with quality.
