Thanks for mentioning this product. I hadn't heard of it before. It would be useful if they shipped it with a 3-foot cable extender, but those are easy enough to find.

What about the problem, that this chargers are NOT setting back the internal chip to 100% after charging ? I'm sure that you're having an answer from Nitecore yet.

Ah yeah... I wonder if they're planning on makings those or if there's a reason they don't have them yet... I'll see if I can find anything out :)

@@ScottDumas They probably just haven't gotten to it yet. No worries but thanks!

Scott, picked up a ucn2pro for my eosr and the thing never charges batteries to 100% 70-80% only. Nitecore said the charger must be bad and sent another and it does the same thing. I tried both new and older cannon lp6n batts. Do yours show full charge? The eosr batt grip charges the batts to 100% as does the oem charger. Seems that there is a design flaw in the ucn2pro.

Hey sorry to hear about that. I actually have been finding a pattern recently myself where if I don't take them off soon after they're full, they will be re-drained down to 50, 60% or sometimes lower. I'm wondering if that's the same thing that happens to you. When I take them off immediately, they seem to be fully charged or acceptably close to it- give that a try and let me know if you're experiencing the same thing. I just sent NITECORE another email about it so hopefully we can figure this out. Cheers!

@@ScottDumas i have been taking them off right away and still not fully charged. I see others reporting the same thing in blogs... they say that the charger does not reset the fuel guage chip in the battery pack.

@@ScottDumas i have confirmed the charger does fully charge the batteries but for some reason they do not show 100% in the camera. The canon chargers will always reset the fuel guage chip in the batt pack and show 100% in camers. There is definately a design flaw in this charger.

@@mikederbish4123 Damn, that's a shame. I'll talk them about that specifically hopefully it'll help the process to get that addressed. I guess it's good to know that the batteries are fully charged at least? haha... glass half full I suppose.

I have the same think with UCN1 charger and LPE6 battery. Full charge with NITECORE but maximum 90% with big home PATONA double charger.

Did you try the Wasabi ones from Amazon? I got 1 after a friend recommended me, they don't have a screen and such good data but damn the dual battery charger is so small that your travel one looks like a fridge next to it. I can't say if they are really good since I charged with them only once until now but I like them.
@ScottDumas
@ScottDumas 5 лет назад
I haven't actually ...I know the brand is pretty popular for batteries but never thought about them for chargers. From taking a quick look on amazon though it seems like their chargers are about the same size as these, but it would be interesting to see things like recharge speed and how they hold up over longer use. I just really love the built in USB cable/dual charging pocket-sized design here that still gives lots of info, but I might try and check out the Wasabi ones just for comparison's sake.

@@ScottDumas The internal USB cable is really awesome, you should've seen my face when you pulled it out, I was totally surprised lol! I looked now at the bottom of the Wasabi and it also says max of 5 volts and 2 Amps. Originally I wanted a 2 battery charger but since 1 or 2 of my batteries showed some death signs I decided to search for a package of a dual charger and 2 batteries so I went for this one. BTW, I think I stumbled across someone checking if his battery is good or not from his Canon camera menu, do you know where it is and how to use it? not sure if it's available on my 70D though.
@ScottDumas
@ScottDumas 5 лет назад
Yep! It's one of the settings I always put in my custom menu :) "Battery Info" under the wrench section of the menu. It will show the remaining battery percent, your shutter count on that battery and the "recharge performance" with a 3 bar meter. Just checking it now I noticed my battery is down to 2 bars! Oops! haha

@@ScottDumas So it knows automatically how to recognize each of my batteries? cause honestly I loose track sometimes
@ScottDumas
@ScottDumas 5 лет назад
well it will give you the info on whatever battery is in the camera, so you can check levels to see if your battery is charged up or not- that's basically the most of what I get out of it.
