Great tips, nice way to keep from getting headaches when your favorite hat is a little too tight. I got my hat stretcher from Hat Club a few weeks ago and it has been a game changer
I have maybe 2 or 3 hats that come in fitting how they should and comfortable. I've bought the next size up but that's a crapshoot, and I have to shrink down to fit. I've learned just to stay with my size and steam & hatjack will do the job. Thank for the reminder!
I have the same issue man bought a bunch of hats and maybe 2 or 3 fit good. The rest are a lil snug tight and when i stretch them they never hold the stretch. You think if i steam it (pot of water i dont have a steamer) then stretch it will it hold? Idk man i get frustrated that i wasted money
@@Kaetoh Get a teapot that you can flip up or remove the nozzle (whistle) if you don't buy a steamer. The only way to get a custom fit perfect and make it stay is with steam.
Exactly I went for a 7 5/8 and it was too big and I’m not even getting a full refund for that hat. I just ordered a 7 3/8 and it’s too small . I’m new to hats but this just made me wanna give up
You can also get a jack off Amazon y’all. Also if it still tight leave it for a week forget about it and then go back to it. It’s saved three hats for me! Awesome vid I have to add the steamer
I bought 7 1/4 as well, and it fits snug on my head but after a while I start feeling light headed and I just wear it on the top of my head with the brim pointing upwards
For New Era fitteds If you can comfortably move your eyebrows while wearing it backwards is that ideal or too loose? I’m debatably between sizes. Please let me know 🙏🏽
Great Tutorial 👌🏽can you guys do a how to shrink vid wanna see your guys take on how to shrink or what do you guys do when you buy a cap your size and it comes an xtra size bigger. Thnx
Thanks for the Video an Great tips . I wear 7 1/4 but some hats are Little Bit to tight. So i Want to Stretch them. What hat stretcher Size should i buy? Small, Medium or Large? Thanks
I have a hat that fits pretty well the only issue is the sweatband is stiff, so it leaves a little red mark on my forehead, how can I get it to soften up?. I don't have a hat jack. But I do have a steamer
This was the best helpful video on this I've found. My only question is if I am trying to stretch my New Era fitted from a 7 3/8 to a 7 1/2 (one size up), which of the Hat Club stretchers would you recommend to do the job? Also what steamer would you recommend? Thank you!
Don't feel bad I live in Baltimore and even tho the team has been terrible for decades it is still hard to find certain orioles hats they sell out fast
my size 7 1/4 cap is smaller than other models of the same size that I have. If I use the hat jack, can I enlarge it a bit so that it stops squeezing me, or will it become too large? Thank you
Thank you for your instructive video. I have used your guidance to stretch my 7 1/4 hat to fit my 7 3/8 head and it has worked well. The only downside is that now the band around the back of my hat sticks out a lot more than the fabric of the rest of the hat resulting in an odd shape. Any suggestions? Re-steam?
Alright not sure if you guys will answer this but let’s say I got a hat that supposed to be my size but won’t even fit on my head should I sell it or do I still have some hope?
@@alexpaz9700 I got that problem too and I’m not sure what to do lol I have to put moldskin padding around my 7 1/8 hats so they fit how I want but I go to size 7 it’s just a tad tight. I’m hoping a hat jack is what fixes this cause I’m like 800$ deep in fitteds trying to figure it out
Hello mate. I'm from the UK and been looking at buying my first cap. I've been on new Era uk, I'm exactly 60cm in size and there is no size converter dead on that. (I'm a total newbie) so be kind of anyone sees this Hahahahaha. What size would you guys recommend the shade almost dead on my size or slightly bigger? Many thanks and much love from 🏴
Any issues w them shrinking back ive done too mine but without steamer and they seem too go back too their original form TIGHT. Thank for any feedback👌🏾
I bought a 7 3/8 and it fits to tight would this work if I wanted to stretch it so I don’t get marks on my head but not to much that I make it a 7 1/2 as that is to loose ?
One size fits most😮I bought a Atlanta Braves hat (velcro strip) which is a great fit. Purchased a Pittsburg Pirates cap but its tight on my head😂Why is the sizing so inconsistant?
was that a cordless steamer? if so whered you get it? also what is the logo on your shirt? thanks for the video.. just ran through some old hats in need of a slight stretch, hoping the steam tip helps them maintain the stretch rather then having to re-stretch time to time
No, it has a cord. It's a Conair. The logo on my shirt, from the Ebbets Field Flannels site: 'People of a certain age who grew up in Kansas City will remember the famous Katz Drugstore chain. ("Katz pays the tax!"). Not only did Katz sell everything from medicine to fishing lures, they sponsored a team in the amateur Ban Johnson Baseball League. One of the most distinctive and fun caps we have ever seen, this one comes to us from EFF customer and friend Paul Carr.'
I will try these tips because I have a really nice Washington Redskins 2016 shiny draft fitted hat but these hat are rare and I got one that is probably one centimeter too tight.
Just a question, my head size is a 7 1/8 and I always have to put stuff inside of the hats to make it tighter, but if I go down a size it hurts my head way too much and I can barely put it on. So my question is, should I get a size 7 and stretch it? or should I stick with a 7 1/8 and hope its a tighter fitting size?
Hello, I need some help. I stretched my hat over night at it’s fullest extent with the hat stretcher wood piece it worked for about 2 days and now the hat is tight again ..any suggestions? Pls let me know thanks!!
@@VFTV lol I actually bought one and a steamer but the hat stretcher is kinda small and since you recommended a medium instead of a small in the video but the thing is that amazon doesn't give you an option of selecting a size. 👎🏼
I found a fitted that I was interested in purchasing that’s a 7 1/4 but I’m usually a 7 1/2, do you think I can stretch it enough so it’d comfortably fit? Or would that be difficult to achieve.
I brought a 7 1/8 fitted before and it fitted great, I recently brought 3 7 1/8 fitted hats from mlbhatshop and they all fit tight, will this strategy fix it so it can fit better?
Hello mate, there's a hat that I like in an online store, sadly it only has 7 7/8 left (my size is 7 3/4), is it still fit good if i not shrink it ? I'm afraid it'll be to big for up 1 size..
bought a 7 1/4 but when it came in I noticed it looked way smaller than normally. Tried to put it on but didn’t even fit over the top of the dome. More like a manufacturing error and it’s like 6 7/8.. is it possible to get it to 7 1/4 or at least 7 1/8?
So I just bought a hat jack and I just realized my true hat size is 7 3/4 and I got a hat that is 7 5/8. Would this work to get it too that 7 3/4 size??
