A communal place known as a ‘Saqifah’ was a place where conversations took place. Especially In the event of the Prophet Muhammad’s (pbuh) demise on (June 8 632). After the demise of the Prophet Muhammed RAS (pbuh). His succession was debated, and the ‘Saqifa Bani Saeda’. So, they appointed the Prophet’s (pbuh) successor to be, Abu Bakr (as). The Muslims in Medina resolved the crisis of the succession by appointing, Abu Bakr (as). Abu Bakr (as) was the first ‘Khalifat of Rasul Allah’ (swt), known as a ‘Caliph’. This was decided by a group of people known as the ‘Ansar’. These people gathered under, a shaded tree called the ‘Saqifa Bani Saeda’ close to the Prophet’s RAS (pbuh) home. The ‘Saqifa Bani Saeda’ are members of the ‘Bani Hashim’ and who prepared, the burial ceremony of the Prophet RAS (pbuh). Therefore : Abu Bakr (as) became the successor the first ‘Caliph’ who was known as, the Deputy of the Prophet of Allah (swt). ...
