Hey Sophie, the thing that got my attention the most is putting my artwork (drawings) on tote bags, coffee mugs, T-shirts. This past Christmas I put some of my drawings on notecards (my kind of Christmas cards) and two tote bags I gave as presents using Canva. I could do that again, but this time make items that will sale. I do have an Etsy store set up already. From Kingsville, Ohio
Appreciate these reminders. As artist we can get caught up in our emotions. I would say in my experience that POD is not exactly Passive income because you do have to promote, market, and advertise and deal with customer service issues.
You are DEFINITELY an endless Fountain of Information and Inspiration... I APPRECIATE You! 🙂 I am launching my Art (2 months now) - have done some of what you suggested - 2 sizes of prints with narratives and certificate of authenticity - tiny tabletop Art in acryllic see-through-stand-alone frames (narratives on flipside) - and stickers. Your timing is perfect ( You just popped into my RU-vid feed this morning)... because you have given Me even more directions to head for. All my Art, thus far, has been photographed and digitized... ready to be made into a myriad of items. Funny you mentioned Giclees... my Printer just told Me he is experimenting with that very thing right now. Thank you for that suggestion! One avenue I thought of for later (when I get ahead of the game a bit) is to create puzzles with large pieces and donate them to Nursing Homes, Children's Hospitals, etc. I am a Narrative Collage Architect / Surreal Imagery Design... a Former Life Coach... my collages have 'meaning' and purpose for people to ponder and hopefully, give them some hope/food for thought... VERY colorful. My question is: Do you think puzzles would sell on the open market, as well; adding to your variety of suggestions? It was just a 'thought'. 🙂 Thank you SO much! MUCH Love & RESPECT...Deborah
Congratulations for everything you have achieved so far! And yes absolutely there is a market for puzzles, it may not be as large as say mugs and tshirts etc…but it’s still viable!!
Loved hearing your list, Sophie! I would be super interested in your perspective on Printify as I have been using Printful so far. Still struggling to get the traffic and SEO parts down with my Etsy shop but excited by the possibilities of different products I can create. Currently working on some adorable shoes for instance! ;) Thanks for another super helpful video!
I love ❤️ what you are doing!! So Printify allows you a larger profit margin, so that you can make more $$$ and as they use different manufacturers you get to choose those as well…I know some people in the POD space sometimes use both, depending on products etc…xx
