Beautifully told Jay! Very impactful! Gave me a sense of pride to be Kenyan! Amidst the noise, hustle and bustle in Nairobi - sometimes we forget how peace and quiet is just a short distance away!
Wow! This was one of the best Kenyan Safari Vlogs i have watched thus far, this said by a Kenyan who watches several safari videos on a daily basis. It was the narration, the good quality camera, the music and pretty much everything about it. Absolutely loved it!
@@Jmendapara i forgot to mention that of all the videos I have watched I have never seen the level of interaction with the locals as the one you did with Mathias at the staff canteen. That was awesome and kind of you to sit down and just talk with him. I am sure he will never forget you because it’s a very rare occurrence.
@@ranen666 Honestly, that was one my favorite parts! I love being able to talk to locals because they are such a great source of information about the place you are visiting and its culture. I'll make sure to continue doing that, thanks for pointing it out and for subscribing!
I went a Tourism college and worked in the industry from five years before moving to California. During that time I was able to visit most of the national parks and game reserves in kenya and in all those visits, hanging out at the staff Canteen would be our second main highlight after the game drives 🤣. Your itinerary was interesting-Masai mara and Aberdare. How did you choose it. Was it random ?
@@Jmendapara you are most welcome.. Have you noticed that all your viewers are from Kenya? Amazing content.. I have never been in ol pajeta and through you i got to visit there.. It's everyman wish to visit different countries but our pockets can't allow us.. Merry Christmas 🤶 and happy new year in advance
@@Jmendapara funny I woke up singing the "Tausi ndege wangu" and while singing I saw your reply. I haven't sang or heard this song for decades until I heard Wambua sing it. Thanks for documenting such wonderful moments
Beautiful video. Great photography and music. Did you see many "free" rhinos at Ol Pejeta? It should be a lot there, but did not see them in your video, apart from the 2 last white rhinos in their enclosure. What do you thing about the night safari in Ol Pejeta? We were at the Mara, Amboseli and Lake Naivasha last december (it was great). Coming back to explore Ol Pejeta, Aberdare, Samburu and Nairobi National Park in April. Thank you!
Hey! Thanks a lot for watching the video. I’m glad you liked it! We did see a lot of free rhinos at Ol Pejeta actually. They had a lot of them in that area. The night safari was definitely really cool. You would think that you wouldn’t see much at night but I was really surprised by how many animals were awake and roaming around at night so that was a cool experience. I probably wouldn’t go more than once if I had to pay for it each time, but definitely worth going at least once to experience it. Amboseli and lake naivasha sound really cool! Hope to go there one day too. Hope you have a lot of fun when you head back there :) thanks for reaching out!
Hey Romika, thanks so much for taking the time to watch the video! I use a Nikon D5500 with 55-200mm and 18-55mm kit lens. I also have a 35mm 1.8 that I brought with me!
Jay you did fantastic vlogging in Kenya 🇰🇪. I like the style of your content delivery and explanations which make it very relatable to viewers. Enjoy your time in Kenya 🇰🇪, a very fascinating country of contrasts found in East Africa 🌍. Karibu tena/Welcome back again. 💯.
Hey, thanks so much, I really appreciate you taking the time to watch it and write about it! I will definitely be visiting again! I have a couple more of these types of videos coming out soon so please consider subscribing if you want to see more :) Thanks again! Would love to visit East Africa in the future!
Wonderful video. I really enjoyed it. I’m heading to Ol Pejeta and Masai Mara next month. May I ask what equipment you used to record the video? Best regards from Seattle.
Thanks so much for watching! Hope you enjoy your trip! I used an iPhone actually. iPhone 14 Pro and I also used a Nikon D5500 for some of the wildlife shots. I use the A7cii on my newer videos though for better quality :)
Hey Jay, awesome your video is great I like it, by the way, I've been there since 1988 for 3 years it's been a long time, I love this country so much, Now I live in a country that is no less beautiful than Kenya, after watching this video, it is certain that one day I will return to visit my favorite Kenya, Mimi kunapenda mazingira na watu wa huko ... asante sana.
Great video! Just curious to know if you saw giraffes and zebras at the Masai Mara? And also, could you please tell the name of the lodge where you stayed at the Mara? And the name of the driving company please. I’m starting to plan a trip there. Thanks
Hey Carolina! Glad you liked the video! We went with a company called Mario tours. The lodge was called Mara Serena Safari Lodge. And yes we saw every animal you can think of in the Mara LOL. I wouldn’t worry about seeing animals lol that definitely won’t be a problem. Hope you have a lot of fun there!
Hey! We booked a tour with Mario Tours (bookings@mariotours.com). You basically tell them what you want to see and they try their best to make an itinerary around your interests.
very impressive narrative, Jay. Were you happy with the services of lodges and the tour operators I wish you can give me their names, including George in Nairobi
Thanks Bebe! The service at all the places we stayed was incredible. We actually booked a tour with Mario Tours (bookings@mariotours.com; info@mariotours.com) and they did all the bookings for us. To be more specific, we stayed at the Ark Lodge in Aberdare, Sweetwaters Serena Camp in Ol Pejeta, and Mara Serena in the Mara. Please let me know if you have any specific questions!
Hey Joshie, in my opinion, it was a great way to explore Kenya because it gave a better idea of the diverse landscapes. Aberdare was really cool because it was in a jungle and then the Mara was the complete opposite. Ol Pejeta was really cool because it had a huge rhino population including the last two northern white rhinos. And the views of Mount Kenya were really beautiful. Each place was actually pretty different from each other, but I would have to agree with you that the Mara was definitely my favorite part of the trip!
Hey I went from USA and it was not required for me to get it at the time. Some of my friends got it and others didn't. I am not sure if they changed the rules since then.
The thumbnail isn't doing it for me. Africa is a continet with 54 countries. Would be better if Kenya was included in the thumbnail. Otherwise lovely video.
No problem Anthony! I have a few more videos coming out soon so if you like the content and want to see more, please consider subscribing :) @@anthonym8181
