As it’s been explained to me….Concentrated subsidized housing was proven to be a failure. The preferred method is to “pepper” housing throughout the city.
@@GRAFFTRealEstate Yes, that's true, but it doesn't mean the structures couldn't have been salvaged and repurposed. Huge waste of materials and energy. (Can you imagine one of those buildings remodeled into luxury condos?) And the solidity of the structures stands in marked contrast to some of the buildings here in Florida, where the condos apparently just fall down of their own accord at times.
@@iamsunnysideup7115 You are probably right, but from a distance it just seems like a colossal waste of cement and steel, and something that might be regretted in 20 years, particularly considering current construction costs. Time will tell. We've seen the land lay fallow for some time already. Isn't it true that the Carl Sandburg condos started as project buildings also?
