Hello Tim, I have been using the app since June to scout out new streams to fish here in PA. I am tired of going to the same old places and am ready to explore. Using this app gives me a lot of options and details that I need for camping, fly shops, and stream conditions. I agree with you awesome app I purchased the pro right away. Tight lines.

Hey Tim. As a great tool for location of new fishing opportunities, I’ve been using the ap since late June. For me, locating a stream was important, but what I like is access and parking area location. No longer is an excursion to scope out a stream necessary. I find it a time saver since that is probably our most important assets. It is very useful locating nearby streams. I love this tool!

Some of these comments, you took the time to do a video to help us catch more trout, sure my state is not on there, TN, but it might be some day, 'Thank you', I will check out the free version for now and maybe when they add my state use it to my advantage. Just another tool, and yes I take my phone to the river.

Looks like a good app for anyone taking a trip or has alot of trout water near them to explore. Living in Ohio I pretty much know all of the trout streams in my general area... not many to pick from. Several of the better streams are not even listed on the map and I'm hoping it stays that way as they are hidden gems!

Thanks for taking the time to comment. You're right, TroutRoutes is great for exploring new water. I also love the USGS stream reports and the ability to locate nearby fly shops (which is also cool to use when on a non-fishing vacation!). If you haven't downloaded it yet, still may be worth a peek since it's a free download. Hi Tim, did you ever use the GPS Fishing Guide to PA? I find it to be very useful but it is no longer being updated or supported. I am curious how Trout Routes compares.

I live in SEPA and been curious about some private property on a stream I fish often. One side of the river is posted but the other side is not. Just been wondering if I can still fish past that sign or if they own the stream there. or if even both sides were posted can I still fish in the stream without going on the banks if that is allowed. can this app help me determine this?

Hi Brian, I'm unsure about that, as I haven't found that specific situation personally. When in doubt, I would recommend calling the PA Fish Commission to get their insights on that specific spot. Regarding TroutRoutes, the Map Legend designates Easement Land, State/National Parks, Other Public Land, and other designations. I was surprised how much information is available. Just installed the app on my Android phone - a little buggy so far but not bad. My biggest complaint is the limited geographic regions; mostly mid & western US. Nothing in the east/northeast other than PA - there are lots of great places to fish but no guidance for it... Will try it if possible & reconsider the install...

@@TimCammisa I'm in NH and fish in all of New England, NY, as well as Idaho & Utah. None of these states are covered nor anything else in the east... I plan to hit PA next year so may consider the app for that.

That decision is up to what you're trying to get out of the app, Ramon. If you are fishing frequently and out of service, I would recommend the Pro version. Otherwise, start with the free version and see what you think. Tim www.troutandfeather.com

Trout Routes is the worst application I’ve ever used. I bought a $39 pro account, even though I live in MD and they don’t have any data in the state I live in. At first I loved it. But somehow they made me log in again. AND HEAR ME OUT… their password reset program simply DOES NOT WORK. So a decent application turns into a waste of money

You know, I just don't want to go there. Can't there be somewhere that virtual BS doesn't permeate? I'm sure everyone who has worked hard to find a good spot will be thrilled to find another cell phone nimrod on the water without doing the work. NOT. In this instance sharing is not caring, it's a travesty. By the way, yes I am old.
