Hi George, well there’s obviously a lot of jealous people out there as I’ll never understand how you’ve got 3 dislikes. The scapes are absolutely stunning & you’ve inspired me to get back into the hobby, I’m 65 year old & have had tanks all my life but nowadays with technology it’s so much more easy to have beautiful looking tanks, you’ve made an auld man very happy. 100 % Jim, for a fish or planted tank, who stupid will dislike, people are frustrated from their own lives that's the only reason to dislike a beautiful and relaxed environment :-)
I’m just starting out and working on building a low tech nano at this time. I just wanted to let you know that your videos are awesome and so informative! Dave did a good job; I love how the path breaks in the center with the Archer. The tetras look really happy there.
Hi George....i normally don't comment, but as an artist i have to point out that one of the human traits is to get comfortable in anything we get use to and then stick with it. This is in reference to the Aponogeton species..... they look great and break up the monotony of the other tanks which have all the same plants. They are large but they add a texture that is still elegant. I'm not sure, but if this is a business that sells plants, if it is, i would want to show scapes with a variety of sales stock. So, maybe try some bio themes to highlight the different species and show to customers how to be creative with them. { an other idea to help the public is plants for specific water parameters....hard/ soft, alkaline/ acidic.} Thanks 4 another great video !!!
I'm not super knowledgeable about aquascape and the plants but anything that is a little different and lovely works for me. I plan to obtain Mr. Farmer's book on aquascape and get started after having been away from aquariums for more than fifty years.
Hi George. I hope you are well. I think you are right about the Aponageton, perhaps a more finer Plant like you said may look more appropriate for that Aquascape. I love the first Two and the Aquascaper 1500, they are my favorite. Thank you for sharing this awesome video.
The 1500 is my favorite, but I do agree the coarser plants should be replaced with something finer. Dave scaped the 900--I remembered because I am very partial to cardinal tetras--mainly because they were my mother's favorite.
I really like the dark color and texture of the Aponogeton boivinianus, cyperus is a little bit boring. Personally I will replace the Aponogeton crispus with another boivinianus!
I like the Aponogeton in the far back left corner, because to me, it looks like they are far away - perhaps because of the way the light hits them - and it gives a nice background effect and makes the area around the big driftwood look more full, without taking over the scape. But, the Aponogeton close to the centre is indeed too overpowering imo. That particular tank is absolutely incredible, by the way. Probably one of the best aquascapes I've seen.
Hello George! I'm too late for your contest...maybe next time though. 😊 However, I wanted to weigh in on the background plants. To me they were just that...until you pointed them out of course. Before that I think they blended perfectly and gave that far away back drop look. Yet that is merely my outlook and the only one that will truly matter is yours, bc you are the artist no one else. All beautiful scapes. In the 1500, I agree that the aponogetons are perhaps not the best complement texture-wise to the rest of the tank. Maybe balansae crypts or Cyperus helferi as I believe you mentioned. Many thanks for all that you do for the hobby, including your beautiful and educational videos. I learn something new from each one.
It is the one with the pathway in the center... When u ask people which one their favourite is they point out the one Dave scaped... The neon tetras hang out in the center of the scape which is what you want....

Just got back from the football to watch your video, winning situation! The 600 is my favourite, beautiful scape mate and amazing fish choice in the danios and ember tetras, reds offsetting the green, great all round scape and plant choice, 10/10, bravo.
Damn just got to the end, bit late courtesy of watching the Aston Villa vs Middlesbrough game, but hey ho... the 900 was scaped by Dave and appears to be the customer favourite, but the 600 is clearly the best!!
hi george , im going with scape 2 , i love the scale of the tank in relation to the hardscape , nice and chunky . scape 3 is my least fave , its very proffestional but ive never liked twigs in scapes
George, I know I haven't won, but Dave aquascaped the 900. Also, I think the Aponogetons look fantastic! I wouldn't change a thing about that tank. Beautiful, as always!
theyre all good but most i like the one with that neons, not because of them but because of the "valley" in the middle; the parts coming out of the water u could evaluate a little bit more like paludarium style but with more water...maybe
My favorite is the 1500 and the 900 was done by Dave. I love love plants I have ten tanks one 360gal. African Cichlids,one 75 salt water ,one 30 gal planted mix shrimp. 180 gal planted . 3 40 gal breeder 1-55 gal, 1 - 20 gal and 1- 10 gal all planted. I get very good ideas on all aspects mainly on planted tanks from ur videos. Oh forgot 29 gal with a Flowerhorn name Pancho. I need to get him into larger tank_. Thanks Carlos Melgoza
Do you think the 250 version of the canister filter would be overkill for an 18inch cube, or even a 5/10 gallon? The built in heater is super nice, and on my setup the inline heater is causing all kinds of logistical issues in my cabinet. Thanks for all the great content!
On the 1500, which is my favourite I would only thin the Aponogeton crispus. So its less 'blocky' lol! I think then you would see more of the definition of shape of leaves , which compliment's the overall scape, (just my view :) .
Now the ferns are getting bigger I think the aponogetons work well and balance the weight of the wood pieces used. Cyperus h I think would look too delicate in this scape but that's what makes aquascaping great......one mans chalk is another mans cheese 😀
Hi George, all those scapes are amazing! The Oase Biomaster looks so tempting!...how often do you fully open them up to clean the impellers etc? I currently have Eheim and JBL externals and they are both a faff to clean and temperamental to restart so I end up only cleaning them every few months! Thanks for your time.
I'm an idiot and watched it too late! Dave's is the Aquascaper 900 but yours is the Aquascaper 1500. Beautiful scapes bro! Cant wait for the next video. Btw, agree on the plant removal. They seem too broad compared to the rest of the plants. They are beautiful though!
As someone who is looking to do their first planted tank what makes you decided to put surface skimmers in all your tanks? I'm planning on buying an Ehiem 4+ 350t and I'm not sure if it would connect up well with the kind you use.
Very difficult to select any one tank. But your choice is better. 1st is aquascaper 1500 2nd 900 and 3rd 600. What is the dimension of 1500 tank? Thanks in advance

if a fish dies, how do u know and remove it? because these dead fishes may be trapped into the plants... btw superb creativity the 2nd tank is so beautiful
Hi George,just a couple of questions about water and water changes,1st/how many water changes are you doing a week on your tanks once thay are stable ie set for 2months or so ? 2nd/ how much water are you changing at water change 60% 70% 80%? 3rd/ do you no the dkh of your water your putting in ?...reason I'm asking I changed to useing ro water about 5 years ago and got better results but it a lot of hassle doing ro to normal tap water,and looking at all your tanks on youtube and ukaps you are having big results,basically I'm thinking of changing back to tap.
The 1500 is my favourite and I agree the cyperus helferi (or perhaps Vallisneria Gigantea Rubra for the brown/red colour?) would looking stunning as a replacement for the aponogetons. What is the bucephalandra on the wood please George, it's such a gorgeous colour? Dave's gorgeous aquascape is the Aquascaper 900 (I know I'm years too late to enter)!
George, how much tropica powder substrate would you say is required for an Aquascaper 600, 9L or 2 x 9L or 1 x 9L & 1 x 3L? :-) The tanks look absolutely awesome by the way!!!

I am no fan of those Aponogeton. Cyperus would look sweet but why not showcase some variety of colorful echinodorus species. Especially ones with long thin stalks with leaves smaller leaves. The tank and scape would be suitable i think.
