Its great that you included a wide range of titles that aren't all just step-by-step instructional manuals. Artists can really benefit from studying creative professionals whose work is different from theirs, and trying to understand what motivates them and keeps them going. And so glad you mentioned your own titles- they're too good not to include!
The Drawing The Head and Hands book is amazing, I love it!! For anyone wanting to learn to draw the book Drawing On The Right Side Of The Brain is fantastic. It was used as the manual for a class I took in college and totally changed my life. It teaches you how to draw what you see not what you think you see. If you do all the exercises in it several times it will help your drawing improve 1000%.
@lorihanby6733 - Absolutely! It was the main book recommended when I was studying art in the 80s! - It includes info on negative space which I didn’t know existed then!
Thank you for your book, Everyday Watercolor. I just bought it and am on day 5. I love it. It will help me to improve my painting. I know watercolor is the medium for me and can’t wait to see where your book will guide me. I also love your Channel and I will keep watching. Thank you!
I started watercolor a month ago and YOUR book is on my side everyday ! I practice, practice, practice... I should be receiving YOUR other book " Everyday Watercolor Flowers" fairly soon... I follow as well your well structured course on youtube. Thanks a lot... Your help on a daily basis is awesome 👍
I absolutely looooooove your books. I borrowed Everyday Watercolor from my library and then had to buy it. Definitely going to check out some of these recommendations too. You haven’t steered me wrong yet.
So sweet about the life changing book 📖🥰🙋🏻♀️ Can definitely agree that I am one of the people who believes your books are life changing! Can’t wait for Watercolour Seascapes to release (in six months) on my 2024 birthday! 🐚
Thank you, reneay that was very helpful for me this demo about all the artbooks short ,clear and to the point. I will definitely checkuot your free ebook, couse I have shyded awayfrom going back to start working with watercolour. At time it gets very overwelhming who to follow on youtube
Unless you want a very regimented artistic practice, I don't recommend The Artists' Way. The Creative Act: A Way of Life was fantastic--insightful and easy to read. There is a reason why it is still near the top of the bestseller books for months. Love the Kleon books. You missed Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert. Loved it and there are some great stories.
@michellespohrer6395 - Yes- Big Magic! When I bought that audiobook I listened to it in one sitting, finishing at 2am, and my alarm went off at 6am, to get ready for work that day! It was worth it. I didn’t want to miss one word….
I have done The Artist's Way 3X. I find it very impactful on my LIFE. I am currently reading Walking in This World - The second book in the trilogy. I have glanced at, or read, some of her books. I think she writes better about the creative process and artistic blocks than fiction.
No way the best book is yours book. Very humble indeed. All this to sell your own book. Not buying it, disappointed with your approach. You are a very good you tuber. As a watercolour artists you have along way to go.
You obviously missed her “humble” point. It HAS changed her life. Her successful publication has expanded her career and reach. Kudos to Jenna! I appreciate all that she is teaching me as I explore watercolor. Of course you have every right to your opinion.
