I'm a full-time NEWBORN AND BABY photographer in the Netherlands and I'd like to show you a bit more of my life as a photographer. Are you interested in photography? In my videos I show you my typical work-week as a photographer. You'll see you tips & tricks concerning photography, photo shoots, backdrops, studio props, camera settings (iso, aperture, shutter speed, white balance), photoshoot outfits, photoshoot make-up etc.

2 meters = 6.5 feet; 4 meters = 13 feet for those of us who do not know meters (like me); 3 meters = 9.8 feet; wooden backdrop is 1 meter 34 cm = 52.5" , by 1 meter 25cm = 49" bottom and again backside . Conversions are approx and rounded to closest quarter (1/4, 1/2. 3/4) measurement.

I have DIY'd my dark wooden back- and floordrop using your video and I know it's too short but I'm going to use it to the max until I can make another qith the right dimensions. Great video btw, Fenna.. 🤗 Love from South Africa

Great to hear you made a dark wooden decor yourself as well. These dimensions work for me, but smaller might work good for you in the space you have. I wish mine would be even bigger, to take sibling shots on the dark wood without extending the background in photoshop. However, I don't have more space at the moment :) Have fun photographing

I need all the tips I can get to make babies and toddlers look at me and want to have their photos taken. My kids hate it and I took photos of a friend's three year old son who did not want to sit or stand in the photos area. Thank you very much for your videos! ❤

Ik ben zo benieuwd. Ik heb deze twee achtegrond doeken besteld. Maar moet met de container uit nl komen naar curacao haha. Dus kan nog wel lang duren. Maar dan kan ik wel aan de slag 😊

Not yet! Well not of my current studio at least. It's not completely the way I want it yet, but maybe I'll film a walkthrough soon. I got some new backdrops, so I'm also thinking I might have to store them differently now.

I absolutely love your videos. Do you have a video where you explain your lighting? I love the soft lighting you used in the mint green shoot but I can never replicate this look. I mostly shoot with continuous lighting only but recently purchased a speed light with a diffuser but I just can't seem to get the soft look that you have. TIA!

Hi fenna, Wich company do you use to buy your photo back drops. I've ordered off Amazon, but with some of those the materials vary. Alot of wrinkles, and hard to get out.

Hi, yes the number of the cream one is 1502g and I actually just filmed unboxing a new one. The color seems slightly different, but that can also be because I've used my old one for many years. I will (most likely) have a discount code for you in the unboxing video. It'll probably be online in 2 weeks.

I usually answer every comment 24 hours after posting the video, so I can answer most questions at once. You seem a bit rude, saying I do the same as other colleagues... Do you understand I record, edit and upload video all for free to inspire, motivate and encourage other photographers. I'm also a mom and I work, so time is scarce. I don't owe you anything.... However, I'll kindly answer your question now. 4 background changes (and outfit changes) are included in a sitter session. It takes me literally 3 minutes to change the backdrop and I like the variety in the gallery. Also, the more variety the more likely the clients will order more images from the gallery. I don't offer a simpler package, except from mini sessions sometimes.

so every cake smash i’ve done the parent. always asks for photos even if i tell them no they say well let’s just grab one quick one! they don’t understand, they think it’s rude if i am standing right there with my camera and their kid but won’t take a photo of them, and i kind of agree that it’s odd, but i don’t know what to do. cause then it turns into like 20 mins and where it should’ve been charged as a family shoot too, it isn’t. it’s like people expect so much and don’t understand the process of getting what you pay for

I guess you can put in the information email or the booking form that it's only for the baby. You can also let them tick a box in the booking form, saying that they understand family photos are not included and can be booked separately.

all the backdrops i have are like plastic or like a blanket, so wrinkly and bunched up when the kid slightly moves

it’s hard competing with photographers around me who already have a full collection of props, it’s like every shoot i do i buy a prop and never make any money and still barely have many props 😂

I'm sorry to hear they are a bit expensive. However, sometimes you only need 1 or 2 backdrops for most of your sessions. I've been using the cream colored one for many years now and for all types of sessions (most of my cake smashes, sitters, family/sibling shots during newborn sessions). I would maybe not start with buying many backdrops, but buy 1 or 2 really good ones which you can use over and over. Maybe Foxbackdrop also delivers where you live. They are quite affordable and have often sales offers.
