Yeah the prices are a little insane. Pro LA bagel tip: Step 1. Buy from Brooklyn or Broker bagel. Step 2. Make your own schemer. Step Three buy your own produce. Put your own bagel and together and you won’t be spending 15-23 dollars per bagel.

I usually do not order bagels or bialys when I am in California because it taste more like a roll to me. The ones in San Fran were particularly "not" good. But that may have changed? Not sure? BTW, not sure about the comments about fresh veggies, I think that's normal for NYC during the summer months. Also, the comment about toasting a bagel/bialy in NYC. I can't remember the last time I did not have my bagel toasted? But, to each his own. Thanks for the video, I will need to try them the next time I am in LA

10:45 THERE'S YOUR PROBLEM RIGHT THERE....MACHINES. Montreal bagels are rolled by hand, boiled in honey water bath then fired in a wood burning oven. Those three factors make Montreal bagels stand out. They're made 24/7 out of 2 small shops in the Mile End district in East End Montreal. New Yorkers will line up in Manhattan just to get a facsimile of the Canadian specialty.
