My personal favourite place i built a base at was the Cannibal Plains. Great resources, friendly neighbours, and pretty good fertility.

shem is basically the easy mode for make a base in kenshi. If you place your base just in the entrance of the swamp you could have the advantage of the hemp farming and good amount of water while also being capable of have a good cactus farm and also good wind for power

@@theGameTea I use only compressed textures. And I actually don't load the swamp in my base, I only do it if I get the camera right in the swamp section of the base, but I never have problems with performance in my reactive world run (only traveling in the late game bc at that point all going fast). But in my genesis run it goes fairly worse, specially when I load a city.

i build mine in the east, at the larger lake. fenced the lake but 1 spot. entrance in the water. one of those advanced round buildings half in the water as well. Such a beautiful spot :)

I find that sandy area in Shem with all those ponds that is near the swamp but not in it a good place to build a base, it has a great amount of iron and copper nodes, decent farming levels, and tons of beak things for food like in Gut. It also is a nice base because it’s in the middle of the map and doesn’t take long to get to and from places.

@@theGameTea Aw thanks! I’m glad I suggested it. The only other downsides I can think of is frequent attacks from the dust bandits and black dragon ninjas but those are simple enough to rectify and the ninja’s give good starting loot

Recently started making a base in the iron valley for my hiver only playthrough. There’s no resources at all no wind no nothing but you get to beat up iron spiders and the acid rain deals with most of the raids.

Shun is amazing for new players. Theres tons of libraries and armorys. All the animals cap out at like 17 mph and the band of bones wont bother you unless you equip weapons. I lived there without walls for like 90% of my playthrough.

Nice video. East of Howlers Maze theres one island with copper and iron node and decent space. Best place if you want your base totally left alone. You'll have high swimming living there, lol.

There is a place just SE of Okran's Shield that has 100% fert, 100% water, 100% stone and 100% all three biomes, iron and copper close by, but i just go to Okran's Shield and loot spiders for iron plates. also only attacks i get are from triangle bandits for some reason

Deadlands is a great place to set up a base if you have researched hydroponics and want to be left alone. There's 1 spot in Deadlands with over 95% iron, copper, and stone all next to each other. Just put on some tin hats and leather coats and you'll be fine. I spent 4 months living there and only got attacked like 3 times.

My all time favourite is in the east of Shem. Next to a larger lake. Build the entrance and some buildings in the water. fenced the entire lake, but 1 spot. ok, it might be cheesy, but it's kenshi and everything wants you ded. a Beautiful city and very well protected.

actually a guide I approve of. well done. I'd like to add that GUT is a god tier in my list, as it is also in a very central location, almost in the middle of the map. With easy access to UC trading, and Black Desert city. It's also very protective, as the beak things usually easily get rid of intruders for you. In my current play through, I started the game using the mode "Bedrock Bottom". Highly recommend the mode for experienced Kenshi players! In the mode u start with -1000,000,000 cats (meaning you can't buy ANYTHING), and you have -100 relations with most factions. Also, you obviously start with no limbs, no food, with 0 HP in all body parts (similar to TORSOLO start) In short, in this play through, GUT is an ideal place to start a base!

I made a base in howler maze and all I ever have to deal with are the occasional reaver and crab raiders. And of course the crabs native to the island which aren’t a problem. Good access to UC Cities for purchases, quick top-ups on money from beak thing eggs (as well as beak things for training purposes), overall a nice spot. Haven’t gotten any UC taxes or raids, but I wouldn’t know bc I made my base only after I was allied to them and idk if that prevents the tax

I try to build a base on the islands behind the maze, there is one wit a copper ressource. Of course with crab equipment against the acid rain. Let's see who will swim there for attacks and taxes XD

I think you don't get attacked by UC because on the wiki political map, the Howler Maze is unowned so you're not on anybody's land.

the black sand is the beat place. build you base in the acid water.wear anti-acid clothes.any intruder will floating in the acid water with their corps.

there is a zone right at the northen edge of the swamp, where you can build with no swamp fog and still farm rice and hemp, has tons of copper and iron and no lag because your buildings are technically on the border zone biome...

Stobe's Gamble is great spot a lot of iron and copper, always 100 % winds and acid lakes serve as great defence against raids

There is a lack of building resources in the Ashlands. Basically, there are no resources in it, except for two points on the border with the Sonorous Dark. But if you have a mod on metal buildings, it won't be a problem.

For me the best place for permanent base is in the Leviathan Coast. If you settled in the north west coast you can find a flat land with copper and ore node side by side. Good fertility, lots of wind and abundant source of meat. The only downside is the travel distance, it is so remote that it takes awhile to reach a nearest settlement, which is the world's end or mongrel. But it could also be a good thing since the enemy raids took longer to reach you and they will mostly fail in their journey, because of cannibals and beak things. Got raided 5 times by UC & HN only once they reach my base and they're already badly wounded. 😂 In my headcannon lore, the people in kenshi will spread the legends that there is an illusive gang settled in the far north across the sea of cannibals that even HN & UC never succeeded destroying them.

There's an excellent plateau in Greenbeach with a single entry point and a few resource nodes. You'll have to take part in the Crab Tournament though.....

I found the border between the Swamp and Burning Forest to have plenty of fantastic spots for a base.

Burning forest near flats lagoon isn't too bad either. It's basically swamp lite in terms of biome, so plenty of water and fertility. Only downside is it's basically swamp lite, so the only crops that are super viable before hydroponics are riceweed and hemp

Honestly, stealing my food supply for months' worth each trip from Stack, living in the Border Zone is easy as hell, and I recently discovered Hydroponics!!! So, soon enough, I'll have the means to grow whatever the hell I want. I killed off both main bandit factions by the way, so I never have raids occur anymore. It's so peaceful!!!

Why you call Holy Nation lunatics? They are actually the most sensible faction. Lore-wise humanity was nearly destroyed during the Fall, and we can be pretty sure AI and killer-robots were involved if not outright responsible. So their hate for sentient machines in understandable, if not justified. Slavery is necessary, people who work produce much needed resources, and as slaves require very little amenities. People who don't work roam the wastelands as "hungry bandits", looting and killing honest folk, remember: "Mercy to guilty, is cruelty to the innocent" Females must produce children, in order for humanity to have a chance at survival. This is axiom. Proven by history, society's that didn't protect their women, died a long time ago. Only in modern history we have a luxury to have women emancipation. Other humanoid races in this world are bio-robots (hivers), and mutants (shek, scorch-lander). They are useful, adapted to certain extreme environments, and to be used as servants and slaves for the benefit of mankind.
