The green outcrop on the North East side of the ice island is IMO the best spot. You can get an oil and quartz node inside 1 base. You are also right next to a fruit tree, 5 chests, and several supply drop locations - all great late game loot. In the late game it's the only base you need.
Truthfully there are no “best” base building locations. Early game if you have default game settings you want to find a spot that won’t constantly get raided and destroyed. Which means you want some place on a plateau with no roads or bridges leading up to it. If you look at snow covered peak with the lake in the center and the boss tower, just south of there are several good plateaus to choose from. I have two bases there. These plateaus have iron and coal and sulfur which is very useful. One of these plateaus has a lake and a waterfall. I built one base on this waterfall. And between the plateaus are valleys with lots of waterfalls coming off the snow covered peak. I built another base there on the waterfall. For oil of course the new island has many good spots. I even built one base on a mountain cliff overlooking the ancient city. Nice views up there. But late game you dont need any of that. You can mine anything anywhere.
I built a base a little bit up the yellow mountain more by the tree that gives fruit its a great spot to get mushrooms and leather because the direhowls spawn there you can easily kill a bunch and farm some leather. The mushrooms are great for recipes that keep your pals fed longer.
1:25 you can of course still place 6 oil extractors in the base. I just did it on my PS5 save like 2 days ago but i wouldnt recommend the location as a mainbase with 6 oil extractors working cause you need like atleast 6x level5 (level4 with 4 star) electric pals with nightactive perk and 6 generators or around ~10x level4 electric and around 15generators for a non stop production so there isnt much space for more production. Im still really mad that they didnt add a pure quartz farm (we have one for everything else... wood,stone,ore,coal,sulfur..) and you cant speedup oil production with your pals. The oil extractor should be useable for like 1-2 crafting pals to speed up the process
@@zidanesidat5471 No its still possible but very hard cause its pixelperfect. I did it by searching for videos/shorts for the specific oil spot i want to place them on and just 1:1 copied the allignment which is pretty easy just stop the video right before it gets placed and then try to get exact same placement. Atleast for this base location (the only one with 3 oil holes) there are videos for all 3 holes how it can be done
the best early base is the bridge right behind the chillet. it had enough resources till level 20. then find a new location and demolish this temporary base.
I hope they add new pals and new pal types and maybe like weather events like storms and blizzards and sand storms when in certain areas that has like a rare pal spawn with the event and only the event
Legendary gear is dropped as recipes from the legendary pals and some others. Also, from the Oil Rig "dungeon" . I would recommend trying to raid the Oil Rig and focus on the Gold Chest, but it's a hard place to be if you're not geared correctly or if your pals aren't powerful enough. To capture the legendary pals...well, I don't get what makes it so hard for you, but if you want a tip or guide without exploits, I would go first for Frostalion, it's the easiest one to defeat. Paladius and Necromus are quite hard because it's a duo, and Jetragon is very powerful too. You need at least legendary spheres and a good Capture level (at least 8).
@@deerslayer4658 keep it up, and use ice attacks and pals. If you can catch Frostalion first it will be really helpful. Also, having a good weapon like the rocket launcher is a must
