I love listening to this Christian lady. Very down to earth and intelligent. Much respect to all lady like Christian’s being respectful of themselves and carrying themselves as real believing women in Christ.
I feel this at such a high level, I’ve always had ADHD and thought I’d never be able to stick to reading scriptures, but this has been my paradise, when I get curious about a context or metaphor or Parables I get deep into translations and go full ADHD into confirmation in scripture or supporting messages in other books in the Bible this has truly been life changing it’s only been 2 weeks with my Bible and I already went full Bible need with it lol
Blue letter Bible is an app (and website) that has all sorts of resources including strongs breakdown of the original words. I’ve found it super helpful and much easier to use than my dads physical book.
Rick Warren wrote I think bible study methods and that why I bought the following: the historical atlas, Naves topical bible and Halley's bible handbook. I also have a couple different version of the bible like, the Billy Graham training bible (was a gift), the parallel study bible, student bible, King James and the school and church bible(went to a Catholic High school).
E-Sword is a very good free bible program. It has incredible resources and has commentaries, atlas', dictionary, ancient writings (like the early church fathers), maps, hebrew and greek scriptures.
@@Janet-kt1nh Please with all due respect, never EVER tell that again to someone with a passion for God. Someone who want's to know what God has to say instead of leaning on their own understanding is amazing.
Oh my goodness!! You have no idea how ABSOLUTELY-7 YR OLD- ON-CHRISTMAS-EVE-EXCITED to have discovered you sister! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Where have you been all my life?! 🤗🙏❤️🔥📖⚔️🛡️
I've started out in Genesis & now am in Exodus. Thank you for showing us how you take notes & add to the bible from the commentary with pretty stockpaper or other papers to make it my own. I enjoy your videos so much. And I like that you said in one of your videos... paraphrasing " when it gets you into your bible, ect.." Thank you Faith❤
Thank you for this! I have started reading the Bible and just googling and finding commentary online. I also learnt to ask the Holy Spirit to guide me through the Bible and to teach me. ❤
Get a Strongs Exhaustive Concordence. It contains EVERY word in the Bible, in alphabetical order, and where it is. You can look up a word and find every single time it appears in the Bible. I am surprised you do not list this as number one. Super helpful to get the whole counsel of God on a subject. We al ways need to know what the entire Bible says about a subject in order to fully understand it.
Yeah, if you want heresy. It's not up to her to interpret the Bible, which is already done by The Church(Orthodox). Sola Scriptura is Heresy, my friend.
@Chambers Sacred Acres No, I'm literally trying to help you understand that Sola scriptra is a heretical doctrine. Someone making up their own study Bible is absurd because they aren't the standard for hermeneutics. That's the job of The Church(Orthodox), not for individuals to decide. Christ established his authority in his body aka the Church(Orthodoxy). These are just facts. God bless you man ☦️❤️
This is great! I have recently been really trying to grow my relationship with God and take the time out to read and study his word. But I get so frustrated sometimes when Im reading a chapter, but having a hard time understanding the meaning or just the general context. I look online but I’m not always able to find a breakdown on what I’m reading. So this will really help me a lot. Thank you for this. God always makes a way and is more than able!
@@Chaos_and_Creativity The message Bible might contain things that aren't true to the original. I would advise only using it for reference to help understand and only for that reason.
Use biblical tools that are helpful. If they all point to the same direction, then they should work together and be consistent with each other and be able to work as God wills. If there are bits that are challenging or that are not pointed in the same direction as the others, then check with god in prayer and with trusted people of faith in the world. The Bible contains many ways of showing that communication between people is valuable in understanding the relationship between people and between people and God. I’m thinking of all of the letters in the New Testament specifically here. Some parts of prophecy are confusing as we don’t usually have that mindset or imagination to see the whole thing as it was written and intended. In those cases especially, books like the Messiah and interpretations from other writers who are more modern might be useful. Culture information can also be useful in knowing what the human writers knew and experienced and expected their readers would know already. Yes, God is the supreme author of the Bible, but he also wrote through human hands.
I have such a deep yearning/ 😢erning. Within me to understand his word. .. it’s like a deep well I can’t fill it up .I keep wanting MORE, more, all my days!!!
Thank you for sharing your knowledge and helping us beginners feel more comfortable and wanting to learn Beyond blessed that I ran across you here on RU-vid
The IVP Bible Background Commentary for Old and New Testaments is fantastic as well. These provide background to the Ancient Near East and other cultures during the time of the Biblical authors.
Sister, can you please pray for my family and for my parents’ marriage? I feel like I am such a deep hole of anxiety, sadness, fear, anger, and it has really affected my relationship with God. I do not see a light in the darkness and I do not feel God’s nearness. I struggle to spend time with Him and I just have so much in my heart that I am carrying. Please pray for me. Thank you.
I just want to encourage you that I was in a similar situation, my faith and life was coming together while my family seemed to fall apart. It was a really difficult time to pray and study the Word of God. So I worshipped. Almost day and night I listened to worship music and sang my heart out to God. He really kept me near during that time when I could barely speak to Him. He showed Himself faithful, showed His character through the godly words I was singing and my good friends from church who were around me during that time. I came to know what it means when the Bible speaks of God as our comfort, our refuge, strong tower and hiding place. It became a time of beginnings even while for my parent's relationship it was the end. It was tough, but I learned that God does truly hold on to us, more even than we can hold on to Him. Well done for seeking Him and seeking prayer. Keep holding on to Him, sister. He's holding on to you.
I just want to say thank you!!! Thank you so much for this. I really want to emerge myself in the word of God but I have been feeling alittle overwhelmed and defeated because I want a deeper understanding. This helps a ton and so did your other video about zooming out!
Ad Crucem is producing a really nice 4 volume Family Bible Commentary by Dr. Adam Koontz. First volume was released a few months ago and it's fantastic.
Thank you!The ESV Study Bible notes are also fabulous, my wife is reading it cover to cover in a year, and she was already a wise knowledgeable Christian before, but wow, it has made her even more so!
Getting a good study Bible will have most of that in it. Those books are like the extended, more in depth versions of a study Bible. Good idea to have these to help understand context (time, place, what's going on, and meaning of things).
