It so true to hear the other Asian language it like comparing French to German language so different. Korean language is the French especially when when you hear the Korean guys speak their native tongue so sexy. No offense to the other Asian languages they just have a different time totally that's just my opinion.
I'm trying to learn Korean and Arabic right now but I'm all ready fluent in Spanish and English, I'm also pretty interested in Japanese but it seems hard 😅
Neri Salem as someone who only has japanese survival skills haha, i would agree with you about the difficult level only because i didn't had the determination to continue, but if you teach yourself or someone teaches you in a way that will help you learn then everything will go smoothly with a slight of difficulties along the way of course. as long as you understand the basics i bet you will do fine. Having the discipline and the determination to learn any language is the main key. i do hope the best for you to learn the languages you want. fighting!
When you really want to learn Korean but you have school and the next year you are taking exams for your proficiency in english and you have to focus on your english and you don't have enough time to learn korean.. :'(
my first language was german, then I learned english and now I´m learning spanish and korean, but I have to learn korean in english because there are no proper books or websites for learning korean in german lol
Lo En lol my first language is spanish and I learned english ,and now I want to learn korean and german ,and I agree with you on that there is only learning websites in english
Lo En I learned Chinese and French first around 1-2? 🤔according to my fam which I'm not sure is 100% accurate...completely forgot French and now I also speak English...am trying to learn Korean and Japanese at the moment😂
Learning korean is definitely on my bucket list (along with french, japanese and german) so winning a set of great tools would be so awesome! I will still purchase one for sure! :)
Sophia Annabelle Ramos Franco good luck with that! I'm german and i think german is pretty hard. My Dad came here 18 years ago and he can't even speak perfectly german but he is not really interested in improving it. Maybe that is why 😌
I've been using How to Study Korean. It really helps me understand the grammar, sentence structure, etc. Also if you live over seas and want a Korean pen pal there is an app called Hello Talk which is a language learning app that helps you communicate with actually native speakers. It takes a while to find a good language partner and it kind of reminds me of speed dating, but it's fun (but I do recommend learning a good amount of korean before joining because it's less awkward and easier to talk)
Luv your hair color and yass that's really cool, a lot of K-Pop fans including me that wanna learn Korean & are struggling here lol, I find myself getting kind of confused with I'm trying some of these apps. I definitely need the break down and a fresh start 💀👻
Extremely helpful vid. Talk To Me In Korean is such a huge relief since you won't need to constantly find books from different authors that are actually worthwhile. Everything you need to learn the language is already provided by them.
What I really love in TTMIK books are they're not overwhelming because the teaching method is bite-sized and simple. The books has cute illustrations and culture notes. And the colours are pleasing to the eyes.
I would absolutely love to have these books. There's a pretty good chance that I'm going to Korea to study next year, and these seem like they'd be a very good option to really learn the language.
I really like your video. I am a Canadian and I started learning Korean with this method and it really works! Thanks for sharing this anyway, we always need to learn more!
I'm 15. I'm not anywhere near Asian or even like remotely qualified to want to learn Korean or really any Asian language really. I probably don't deserve to get these books if I do actually get chosen, but I've been obsessed with Korea and the Korean language (same with Japan). My friend and I are OBSESSED with k-pop and we're wanting to learn it. I really do want to travel to Korea, but like I said. I'm 15. I'm hoping one day I can travel to Korea, and I've been looking into study abroad programs with colleges (but I don't really need to yet.) and I'm hoping to try to find somewhere that will allow me to go to Korea and experience things like that. I also love to travel but I haven't actually been out of the country yet and I really do.
Ik this comment is like 3 years old but im pretty sure theres a program for studying abroad thats completely free(they pay for your ticket and stuff) the only thing is you have to be a American citizen :P
I'm currently learning Spanish right now in school and I'm not interested in it at ALL. I'm learning it because my mother wants me to (because of jobs, and we're mixed with Spanish) and since I live in America I could benefit from it but eeeeh. Im really interested in learning Korean tho! I plan on starting teaching myself this summer, I would now but I have no time! These books would be a big help. Love your videos! Followed ya on Instagram! (Sorry I don't have a Snapchat) :)
Lawd, have mercy on my SOUL I need these books! I started trying to learn Korean late last year, and found Talk To Me In Korean through a Google search. I can attest to their lessons being understandable but unfortunately life got in the way and sidetracked my learning. I do, however, feel that if I had these books I'd be more motivated to learn because I can physically SEE my progress. I do need a pen pal, though because I'm down here in the South and we ain't got a whole bunch of Koreans around.
the Kahoot intro fucked me up. I do agree with you that you have to learn Hangul first, cuz how tf u expect to learn the language if you dont-well, *know* the language. Whenever i jumped ahead and didnt have the patience to learn Hangul, I solely depended on the romanized version. oh my god. i made myself struggle for no reason. it was SO confusing not to mention it lessens your resources also, since most books depend more on the Hangul than the romanized. I learned it within a week!!!!----》Poppoppingkorean. the app is so cute! With the letters, they'd make cute sounds and movements, so it was easy to remember. like ㅛ(yo) was a guy with gold teeth and he would yell yo! Like he was a gangster. Or how ㅘ was a dog that made the 'wa' sound. And they give you short phrases you can learn to, like how to say popular kpop groups, or basic phrases like i love you or you're a genius or thank you. and then they have iconic movies and kdramas too. ...i swear im not sponsoring them
What? That's so cool - I wish I had enough friends who weren't closed-minded people without language interests to start a club. I love learning languages (French and Korean are where I'm at (and by that I mean have started learning, not finished)) I've got the Level 1 TTMIK Textbook and Workbook and I seriously love them! Unlike Memrise and other places I've been learning Korean they actually fully explain every word and how/where it can be used plus the pictures, examples and actuvities are so useful. 10/10 would buy again (and also have like all of the TTMIK books on my Christmas list)
I've learned a lot of vocabulary from Talk To Me In Korean and find the website really useful! I still don't really know how to conjugate verbs that well or know many particles etc. etc. so the books would help me even more! Great video Eddie (:
It would be so amazing to get all these books, I've been really trying to learn Korean also trough talk to me in Korean but just like you I'm more like a physical and visual learner
hi aysha~ i chose two random winners and youre one of them hehe congratulations i'm so excited for you :3 if you could reply with your email address I could send it off to the Talk To me in Korean team so they can send you your prize~~~ you'll have 24 hours to respond before i have to pick someone else however!
I actually found you throughout Kellen a couple of weeks ago and subscribed automatically and was already subscribed to TTMIK. I love Korean culture and have tried everything to learn Korean, but like you, I'm a visual learner and haven't really found a method that works for me and I feel like this would be it! I hope one day to move to Korea and become an English teacher and winning this giveaway would definitely be an amazing start. Good luck to everyone! ^^
We're coming to Seoul to see Big Bang in January and I've been listening to TTMIK audio lessons through their app to learn Korean. They're amazing, it is so straightforward, and even the complicated stuff like the topic, subject and object marking particles make sense. The books would be so useful for learning vocabulary words and verbs; particularly verbs! It'd be great to win them all but I will definitely be keeping an eye out for a couple of them when we are there! 감사합니다 😊
i will never understand people who move somewhere and don't want to learn language that's spoken where they moved... like you're passing on a best opportunity to learn a language... anyways, thanks for this video :D
Im studying japanese right now but all my friends are learning korean so these books would be great for me to catch up with them since everywhere we go to eat and hangout out are all Korean. Thank you and this would be fantastic so I could use this to better mingle with locals without being an awkward non-native speaker. I hope to meet you one day, you are so down to earth and inspiring!!
Honestly I have forgotten the amount of times that I have tried and used a new journal just to learn Korean. Every time I thought I had found a good website or app I just ended up frustrated because they did not explain it well enough or it was not that in depth. When you gave this preview of the books I was surprised of how easy they look and how much examples and visuals you said they contained, for me that is key to learning anything, especially a new language. I just hope that I win this giveaway sort of as Christmas present from you because that would be the best and thank you so much for giving everyone this opportunity!!!
Hi, I personally get a few TTMIK books second-hand (I don't know if we can say that in English). Search on some second hand apps or maybe groups who study Korean :)
I've also tried both Rosetta Stone and talk to me in Korean (currently ttmik is my fav.) I feel like Rosetta Stone is a more intuitive easy way to speak simple phrases and would be amazing for younger learners. Thankfully, I began truly learning Korean through ttmik. Ttmik is much better for adult learners because it doesn't just make you say the right phrase, but rather it very simply and helpfully breaks the language down and is much better for those like myself who want to know the grammar, functions, and structures of the language, while also learning language you can use in your everyday life. Wow that was longer than intended. Anyway, thank you so much of this video, you're a pretty chill dude!
I would absolutely love those books, not only are they extremely cute but It's my style of learning! I also really love your hair color Edward!!!! ❤❤❤❤
I love this video! Many thanks to the author of the channel for the recommendations! The problem with many people is that they want to take a "magic pill" or get "secret knowledge" and immediately have skills and abilities. However, the truth of life is that knowledge, skills, and abilities do not come by themselves. You can't learn a foreign language without doing anything, without wasting your time and effort, just like you can't learn to ride a bike lying on a comfy couch, listening to lectures and watching videos about "modern methods of learning" on a bike. To really learn something, you have to really practice every day. You're going to fall down while you're learning, and you're going to get bumps - that's normal! The ups and downs of learning are an integral part of our lives. Motivation from success and depression from failure will always be your study companions. However, every student has problems in his or her studies that he or she lacks the knowledge to solve. It can be: poor memorization of words; no progress in language learning; the student can speak, but does not understand speech by ear; misunderstanding of grammar; incorrect pronunciation, etc. Agree that a problem you don't know how to solve is very demotivating. In order to find the answer to our question we have to spend a lot of time to read videos, articles and books by polyglots. In today's world, we have to solve problems as quickly as possible. I don't have time to study and analyze a huge amount of information. My goal is to master the basic knowledge of a foreign language as quickly as possible and already start earning money effectively in the international arena. I settled on the practical guide by Yuriy Ivantsiv " Polyglot's Notes: practical tips for learning foreign language". This book is always in my bag. If I have a problem while learning a language, I quickly find the answer in this book. There are many different techniques and tips for learning a foreign language in Polyglot Notes. I have made my own individual schedule and plan for language learning. Now I know what I am going to study, how I am going to study, when I am going to study and what results I am going to achieve. No problem could stop me! With an effective language learning plan my professional skills are more and more in demand internationally every day. Friends, don't stop there! Everyone has talents that millions of people around the world need! Learn the language and make your ideas and dreams come true! Thanks to the author of the channel for the informative and useful video! Your videos motivate me.
I am absolutely in LOVE with your haircolor! Just had to put that out there. Btw I would be so happy if I got those books. Learning korean is really fun but really hard...
i asked for these for christmas and my mom was like nah i'm just gonna get you some food lol but i really want to learn korean not just because i like kpop and kdramas but i really am interested in the culture:)
I began my Korean studies with TTMIK! The intro jingle of their audio lessons brings back so much nostalgia now hahaha. I always found the teaching style so positive but never used the books yet. They look so pretty?!
OMG I really need those books! I'm planning to go to japan and korea in 2018 (If I can save enough money) with two friends and one of them knows japanese, the other one english (we all are spanish speakers), and I have to learn korean from now, so we can survive there and It will be an awesome material to start with. I follow you on instagram but I don't have snapchat :( can I enter to the giveaway too?
OMG yasssss. TTMIK is my go to website and it's the website I always recommend to anybody who wants to learn Korean. I just love how they separate their lessons. So say your learning irregulars 😥😥 some websites just put it in one long lesson and it is sooooo unbelievably overwhelming but TTMIK they space them out. You may learn ㅅ irregulars but then they teach you a different grammar concept then go back to another type of irregular so you're learning at a moderated paste and don't feel overwhelmed. I really can't fully express how much I love that website and their books😍😍😍. Plus they have PICTURES. I'm a visual learning so pictures are really important to me. It's really difficult for me to learn if I'm just reading a bunch of text
EMERGENCY: Edward over the years I have noticed that you keep accidentally putting loops in your videos ( 13:24 , 14:56 ) AND by the looks of it, you might also have a multiple personality disorder ( 5:34 , 9:14 , 10:43 )!!!!! jk P.S. Might you know where I may purchase a "GLOWUP" for myself? I've been looking quite drab these past years, if you know what I mean.
I'm hopefully moving to Korea after I graduate in June so these would be really helpful, I'm currently living that student broke life. Thanks a lot for this Eddy, stay awesome.
Wow these books are looking so interesting to learn from. It´s always hard for me learning new languages but with TTMIK it seems like it could be quite funny and much easier due to the visualisations. Love ur videos btw :)
I agree that TTMIK is one of the best because the packaging is so cute and the images help me so much. I also love just listening to their audio lessons even if im not looking to intensely learn
