Man for some reason the way you explained slicing the break and quantizing, then slice into even sections made so much more sense than when I learned using the mpc 1000
This is an extremely clean video with lots of visuals. I have used an MPC Live before but my Maschine Studio is what I keep coming back too as I'm most comfortable with it.
Thanks man. Glad you enjoyed the vid and the visuals! I’ve never ventured into MPC land but the Maschine certainly holds its own when you compare the two :)
Can't believe I missed this one, as it's super relevant for me right now! And I found it after a heavy, heavy day at work, so there's something to really dig into to shake the frustration. Well done, and thank you!
I snuck these maschine ones in! I've had a maschine mk3 for ages and got super into it a while back. I use Renoise alot these days but its nice to mix it up every now and again. Sample chopping in particular is incredible fun with the 4x4 pads. Glad you enjoyed the vid, work sucks also but thats life aint it! :)
no wayyyyyyy i never knew how to use that slicing to midi/pattern setting, i always just deleted the pattern everytime i chopped something ... this is mind blowing to me right now
Super helpful video. I love how you combined technical details and specifics inside the Maschine, ALONG with actual usage in a track and a practical application of the technical processes you are teaching here. I feel many tutorial videos focus on one or the other, i.e. "how to do something" without including "why you do something" and this is an awesome blend of both. You got a subscriber out of me!
Hey Sean! Thanks so much dude - appreicate the kind words. I do spend a lot of time trying to teach people the full process of making music on this channel as I think its super important to see everything in context. I need to do some more maschine videos soon! Have a good Sunday 😊✌️
@@groovining Will definitely keep an eye out for any more Mashine Videos! Great content, and most important of all, this beat is FIRE! haha. Thanks again for your contribution to the community.
Cheers my man! It's great, and so satisfying for chopping stuff up & I also love the pads! Hard to finish tracks solely in Maschine but it's a good challenge. Automation drives me a bit nuts as well!! The second part in this series on sample chopping is a bit more fun if you already know Maschine quite well! (out in a few hours) ✌
Nice to see maschine getting a look in. Would you say that's more versatile than the Mpc one? I get tempted occasionally for a hardware sampler. Anyway good video, Looking forward to part 2 :)
Maschine is very cool no doubt. The software is fairly straightforward to learn and lots of fun. NI are not the best with updates and support so it definitely lacks a few features. The Sample slicing is incredibly satisfying to do on a Hardware sampler like MPC or Maschine and the 16 pads are amazing for 4x4 beats. I have a Digitakt as well which is also very cool but different. The MPC one also looks great, I wouldn't say Maschine is more versatile - I think it's more like apples and oranges. Both are great. One thing I will say is that even though I've spent my hard-earned 💵on these devices and also invested in learning them. I still spend the majority of my time working in Renoise! ✌
@@groovining thanks dude. I think I'd have to upgrade my computer for a maschine ..just don't trust my old macbook to cope. That's why the mpc one has been on my radar. The hardware slicing appeals, just one thing with all these boxes is it seems a challenge to sequence a complete track in them, so you end up in the daw anyway. Anyway food for thought, ...and yea Renoise ftw!
hey man great vid but how do i apply chop drum break into another group with a mikro mk3 ? when i do it through daw it doesn't get assigned an individual pad/sound
When you're in slice mode you have two options after you have put in the slice markers. Either 'Apply' or the '+' arrows. Create an empty group & click and drag the '+' onto that new group.
Ah wasn't sure! Thanks dude yea there is a lot of misinformation out there about these technqiues. All the break chopping stuff here I've brought over from jungle/dnb where a lot of break chopping was pioneered alongside early Hip-Hop. ✌️😊🎄
