So I'm using the M2 Pro 16" MacBook Pro, an iPhone 13 Pro Max, an Apple Watch SE Second Gen, and the first-gen AirPods Pro. This system works great for me. Great video Garry.
Excellent .... I have a base M1 Mini, Apple Watch SE 2, and 2nd Gen AirPods ..... and after over 2 years I still think of my stuff as new. The only thing I would "upgrade" in 2024 is my monitor. I am going to get a "mid-grade" 65" TV and re-arrange my home office to accommodate a huge monitor on one wall. It will "consolidate" my desktop with a home theater setup...and just use my iPad Air 5 for anything away from my desk. In just the last 3 or 4 years, the price/performance curve has changed dramatically.
Same config but with AirPods Pro 2 and Apple Watch SE 1. Regretting the Apple Watch and AirPod pro 2. Would rather trade them for AirPods Max but it’s too late. But men the 16 inch m2 pro is amazing, so advanced in every way.
How is the iphone 13 pro max feeling in almost-2024? Got an m1 macbook air for Christmas. I'm a pc gamer, always built my own windows computers. I'm very pleasantly surprised with my first apple product and it's making me want to sell my s22 ultra and swap to an iPhone 13 pro max possibly.
Using the iPhone 13, AirPods 3rd gen, m1 MacBook Pro 13, iPad Air 5th gen and Apple Watch Series 3, I absolutely love the cohesiveness of all of these devices and all of them work like a charm (though I am planning to upgrade to a series 9, cause I have the series 3 since 2018, yup, it did last me that long :p )
"Best" definitely is subjective and based on the needs of the individual. I think my setup would be very good for about 95% of users out there. Only people with high end video or graphics needs would require more. I have the base M2 Air, an iPhone 15 (that I just upgraded to last week from the 12 mini), iPad 9th gen, Apple Watch SE 2, AirPods Gen 2. Can't ask for more and everything works great. Also fairly reasonably priced for a complete ecosystem.
Just ordered my first ever Mac and can't wait to get it. 14" MacBook M3 Pro Silver, iPhone 13 Pro, AirPods Pro 2 Apple Watch Series 6, iPad Air 4th Gen, Magic Keyboard, Apple pencil 2nd Gen
I have my iPhone 13 Pro Max, M1 MBA, Apple Watch Ultra 1, iPad mini 6 or iPad Pro 11, AirPods Pro 2 for gaming I have my backbone controller and OLED Nintendo switch, 1TB ssd card. I love the Apple ecosystem.
me (a grade 10 student, who saved up for everything), I'm using an m2 MacBook Air (apple refurbished), an Apple Watch 7, iPhone 11 Pro Max (used), iPad Air 4 (used) and AirPods Pro 2
You still can with Apple Card which is the only way you can finance with them anyways. Well, technically you’re just making a credit card purchase right? You just want to avoid the non-zero APR, right?
I have an M1 MBA, 15 pro max, AirPods Pro 2, iPad 6, and Apple Watch series 9. This was a big year for upgrading with the phone and watch. I love how well the ecosystem works together.
Currently using an iPhone 14 Pro Max, iPad Pro M1 12.9, MacBook Air M1, Airpods Pro 2, Homepod Mini, and will be upgrading to a Series 9 Apple Watch from the first gen SE and everything works great!
I’m on an M1 MacBook Air, Studio Display, iPhone 13 Pro, AirPods Pro 2, and Apple Watch Series 7. Sounds like it lines up pretty well! I’ve been tempted by a newer M2/M3 machine but honestly my 16GB M1 is still great for my basic productivity workflow so I’m trying to resist just buying the latest shiny thing 🙃
That 16GB allows your machine to live a longer time. Apple still pushes 8GB in their base machines. Since 2012 till this month (when I purchased the 14 inch MBP M3 Max) I've been getting by on the mid-2012 rMBP 15 inch with 8GB RAM and upgradable 2TB SSD. Thet computer would last me longer had I paid extra in 2012 and bought a 16GB model, with OpenCore I can install the latest MacOS. Apple simps tell people to buy 8GB computers which don't last long these days. The wisdom of extra memory and SSD space in non upgradable machines makes sense in that one's machine can really last a long time. I think 11 years is good for a rMBP 15 and I'm typing this one one while my M3 Max idles nearby. (Sadly I live in South Africa where our Apple products are marked up compared to yours and not all configs are available, so even in 2012 I'd have to wait at least 6 weeks to get that 16GB MBP, and my MD salary is way lower for what I'd earn in the States, but that's a different story.)
16gb m1 is still so very awesome in almost-2024. No need to upgrade. How is the phone? I have an s22 ultra and I'm considering selling and buying a 13 pro max since I use my m1 macbook air a lot. I have the 8gb version, which I know is a bit gimped, but it runs everything so smoothly to this day.
@@hobosnake1 Android devices beat Apple mobiles. Android allows you to have TWO sim cards, you can also have esims but two. As someone with dual nationalities I often travel between two countries, I can purchase or use my long term SIM abroad and use my local SIM on roaming. It's a matter of going into a shop, showing the EU ID card and getting a prepaid sim with 100GB of data and so on. The iPhone only has a single SIM option and it allows for an eSIM but not every provider allows those. The Android phones are superior because you can have two physical SIMs, one physical and one eSIM and two eSIMs. I believe in using the best tool for the job. Be it an Apple computer because of OS X or Android device because the features are the same as Apple but I can also have two sim cards going and swap them out as I need to. The S22 is nice. I don't see the allure of the iPhone and I don't want what's on my note application on my Mac to show up on my phone. I used to keep my passwords there and certainly I did not wan those to appear on my phone. Google remembers my RU-vid history.
I personally use an iPhone 12 mini/SE 2020 (I have both), an Apple Watch Series 5 and AirPods Pro 2, and I use a windows PC (Lenovo Legion Go) Everything works well and works together well (even with windows after some optimisations and 3rd party apps) Thinking of getting an iPad mini 6 or Air 5 too
Currently rocking 14PM 256gb, AirPods 3rd gen ( the silicon tips on PRO hurts my ears), watch SE 2, ipad Pro M2 11” 256gb plus Magic Keyboard and pencil , upgraded over new years from MBA M1 to MBP M2 Pro 16GB/512ssd… but am keeping an eye out for the next mini ( a want not a need) .
I love the 2nd Gen. AirPod Pros but I can’t wear them for more than 20-30 minutes before they become uncomfortable. I also have those same Beats Solo 3s as you do and they are nice, but I also got a pair of the Beats Studio 3s, and I like them even better. Very comfortable to wear all day and they sound great to me. And I like the enhanced base & tremble that Beats are known for because I watch a lot of movies with them on in addition to listening to music.
Apple is ridicules in their refurnished. Right now a 13 pro 512GB ($999) refurbished is the same or near the 15 pro 128GB price ($ 999). I would rather new at 128 then years old at 512 for same price. Never understood how they can price their refurbished products like they do and who in the h*** would buy a refurbished from Apple? Just put in that extra $. Not worth refurbished.
My current ecosystem is a M2 MBA, Apple Watch Series 8 and my iPhone 13. I'm thinking on getting a pair of AirPods but I still don't know which ones. Any recomendations? I'm thinking in an iPad too, but later on
14" M1 Pro MacBook Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, M1 iPad Pro, iPad mini 6, Apple Watch Ultra 1, Apple Watch Series 7 Stainless Steel, AirPods Pro 2, AirPods 3. It's too much. I have a problem.
My Apple ecosystem is as follows iPhone 12 Pro Max iPad 11inch m1 AirPods Pro 2 best headphones ever Apple Watch Series 7 will upgrade to the ultra Apple TV 4k And my finance has a Mac book for the house I have AirTags and HomePods for my speakers I just love the apple ecosystem
I currently have an iPhone 11, M1 MacBook Air, and an iPad 9th Gen. The watch has no use for me since no one other than the Shopee delivery man calls me, don't really need the AirPods because I prefer having the wired EarPods and I bought a cheaper stylus pen for the iPad.
If you use a 16 inch M3 Max then you should not speak of cheaper less capable machines because you don't use them. Your work isn't groundbreaking. You're just making endless talking head videos. You're not creating animation, visual effects, etc. So you could have gone with that cheaper M2 14 inch Macbook Pro machine. But you didn't. Which means you are not practicing what you preach, which makes you less believable after all you don't even have much experience of the lower end machines and at least subconsciously they were not good enough for you. There are many expressions around the world which convey the same: put your money where your mouth is or practice what you preach or do as I say and not as I do. There is wisdom in that. So if you're not doing your talking head video editing on a mid range Apple pro computer and you recommend such, then it is not believable. Maybe stick to repeating how wonderful the M3 16 inch Max is.
Dang man that's a good setup that you came up with there. I really appreciate your content and videos and you definitely have some really good ideas for what to buy.
this is not a budget. 1400$ for a laptop, 329$ for a watch, 600$ for a phone, 600-900$ for a display?? the only thing "budget" here is the headphones. this is definetly upper-mid range. probably mid-premium.`
So my setup consists of an iPhone 15 Pro Max, a MacBook Air M2 13.6”, USB-C AirPods, an Apple Watch Series 8, and an iPad Pro 11”. While I don’t necessarily need the iPad for my workflow, I do find it useful for certain tasks.
My budget Apple ecosystem: Refurb'd M1 Pro MBP 14 (16GB/1TB), iPhone 14, iPad Mini 6, Series 9 watch (no cell), and a 27" 2K ASUS ProArt Display. Everything works together beautifully.
my ecosystem is currently rocking an iPhone 14, iPad Air 4, AirPod Pro 2nd gens, Apple Pencil, Apple Watch 6, 2017 MacBook Pro (Upgrading to the 2022 M2 Air with 16GB Ram and 512GB soon!) AirTag, and Apple TV 4K
M1 Max MBP 16" 4TB (50% off BandH), iPhone 13 Pro Max (70% off AT&T) , Apple Watch Ultra1 (40% off work), AirPods Pro gen 1 (full price), Beats Fit Pro (30% off Amazon), iPad Pro 11" 1TB (50% off woot) - overall a great setup at some serious discounts.
I have the M2 MacBook Air, iPhone 13 Pro Max, iPad Pro 11 (2018), iPad mini 6 and Apple Watch Series 7, AirPods Pro 2, AirPods Max, Apple TV 4K 3rd Gen and HomePod.
Dear Everyday Dad, I’m interested in getting a new MacBook for Film Production, DIT (video transfer), and most importantly for video editing. I’d like to go the laptop route so I can be mobile and have a laptop doc at home for video editing, I will likely use DaVinci Resolve. I’m not too worried about the cost, but I don’t want to spend over $3,000 for a new computer. What would you recommend. I got my current iMac in 2017 - 27” Retina display and I’ll thinking of replacing it. - Thanks, Lance
Watch SE Gen 1, MacBook Pro 2011, iPad Air 2, iPhone 13 mini. Works still for now, but def looking to upgrade at least 1 of the big devices. Oh forgot Gen 1 AirPods.
I have a macbook air m1 and an iphone 11. both run very standard. The most important thing for me is to save money but stick with the Apple Ecosystem plan, next I save money to buy AirPod 2 and I'm monitoring the price so that it goes down further, the MacBook I have has no problems, while my iPhone 11 is starting to be a little slow, and the battery is very wasteful but that is fine for me, because I work near a lot of plugs LOL. the importance of being aware of the 'position' in before buying an item is important
Best budget system is nothing at all. Go to your local library for your porn usage and checking hotmail. Unless you buy the M3 Max 48GB version, everything else below it is absolute garbage. Welcome to Apple GFY ecosystem 😅😅
I have a 14” m1 Pro MBP, an iPad Air 3, and iPhone 11 Pro (just had the battery and a scratched lens cover changed). I also have Airpods 3rd Gen and kept the 2nd Gen as backup. I also have an Apple Watch series 3 GPS which I will soon upgrade to a series 9 gps only. I still have my 2012 Mac Mini but I dont use it very often these days.
I just got a M1 MacBook Air from Best Buy for $750 new. Also they let you do a 12 month payment plan with no interest. they also had the M2 air for $899
I have a cheaper set up…. MacBook Air M1, Apple Watch Series 8, iPhone 15 pro cause I upgraded from the 11 pro and iPad Pro. And just regular AirPods. All if it works seamlessly and I use it for work or personal with no real complaints. I just upgrade every few years to keep my ecosystem thriving….
I’m using the iPhone 15 Pro Max, iPad Air 4, M1 MacBook Pro, Airpods Pro 2, and Apple Watch Series 9 and I don’t think I will need to upgrade again for another 5 years or so.
My prediction 2024 iPad Pros will come in space black and include the M3 Pro chip along with the already confirmed oled with LTPO. Maybe even better cameras. What I don’t know, up to 24gb of ram and maybe 4tb storage. I also think the iPad Air 12.9 and 11 inch will get the M3 and the regular iPad and iPad mini will get the A16 Bionic.
Hey, i wanna learn graphic design in college soon i will buy a new budget laptop(not MacBook) that will work fine in most aspects its about 599$ hp victus i5 12th gen with 2050 rtx graphics around 4gb VGA memory and i think it will work fine especially because i want a laptop that i can play video games on and i cant do this with a MacBook but the thing is i don’t know if the screen quality is good or nah but i think it will work fine for me . and how about you, did you find a budget laptop that is good for graphic designing?
Why the comment about the airpods without any explanation? I wanna hear! I have never had reliability issues with my airpods pro 2 and would be very curious
If I’m not mistaken, in order of actually view content stored in the cloud, you need to download it to your device. So, cloud storage only gets you so far. And no iPad? Otherwise, excellent vid as always.
Gary ... I always appreciate that you remember the vast majority of Americans are not wealthy. We have budgets and you find important values in the Apple world. So thank you and I am sure most people thank you for this too. I do have a couple of suggestions though and I'll keep them in that spirit. 1) I would trade the MacBook Pro for a 13" M2 Air (bump the RAM) as it is plenty fast (on one now) so that you can go from the iPhone 13 Pro Max to an iPhone 15 Pro (or Max) as I think the inclusion of the 48 megapixel cameras is a big enough draw AND it's the first camera system capable of spatial photography both very exciting. 2) I want to save everyone more money ... instead of the Apple Display go with the LG Ultrafine 5K 27" it's $950 at B&H right now. It IS the same display as the previous generation iMac ... I talked to the judges and they will allow it as it is essentially an Apple display. And that saves several hundred dollars off the refurb Apple display.
I am using 15” MacBook Air ( 512 storage 8 ram) , iPhone 14 Pro Max (256) , Apple Watch Ultra 2, 2018 iPad Pro 12.9 ( 1 TB *should of got smaller storage) : would love to get an external monitor for my MacBook air but the Apple display is too expensive. Any other recommendations for a more affordable display?
As a student I love being in the full apple ecosystem, it all works so seamlessly. Im using M1 Pro Macbook Pro, M1 iPad Pro, 2 HomePod Minis, iPhone 11 Pro Max, Apple Watch 7, Apple TV, AirPods Pro 2, AirPods 3, and many air tags My advice to students is to get an iPad over a mac, for most majors the iPad will be more than enough. I find myself using it more than my MacBook
All of these appealed to me individually, but as a group, I still think the "ecosystem" is the biggest marketing gimmick of all time that doesn't provide anything and fanboys just perpetuate the propaganda.
So great video HOWEVER I have to disagree with some points you made here as I'm currently setting up my Apple Ecosystem for 2024 and beyond so here are some of the items I have in my current Apple Ecosystem and I'll add some suggestions to others as well: -M2 Pro MacBook Pro 14 I currently have this and the specs are 32GB of RAM & 1TB of storage. I also have 2TB of cloud storage too -iPhone 15 Pro Max I currently have this at 1TB of storage which I do regret getting that amount 256GB would be fine but I think having the latest iPhone with USB-C is worth the money for the convenience of having EVERYTHING using USB-C. If you don't want to get the iPhone 15 Pro Max then you can look into getting the iPhone 15 Plus or the latest iPhone SE model phone -AirPods Pro 2 I currently have these and I agree with everything you said regarding them HOWEVER these are still good in-ear headphone BUT if you want over the ear headphone I would ADD or buy the Bose NC 700s which I have been using for years and LOVE them. I will eventually get the AirPods Pro Max 2 when it comes out but for now the Bose 700 are great over-the-ear headphones -Apple Watch Ultra 2 I currently have this watch and it's the BEST watch I ever purchased. I work in construction and it's very durable plus the watch syncs well with the Apple ecosystem As far as the "icing on top" I couldn't agree with you more in regards to the Apple Studio Display it's top notch HOWEVER I don't have them because they're too expensive and I use a dual monitor setup so another option I suggest for others is what I'm currently using which is the LG UltraFine UHD 27-Inch 4K UHD 2160p Computer Monitor 27UN850-W. They're 4K monitors and even though it has a 60Hz refresh rate they're good budget starting monitors if you want to have a single or dual monitor setup Some additional things I would add is: -Buy a 4 pack of AirTags because you're never going to know if you need them or not -If you buy the AirPods Pro 2 YOU MUST buy the "Proof Labs 4 Pairs for AirPods Pro 2 Ear Hooks Covers" on Amazon you'll thank me later -Buy an M1 or M2 iPad Pro 12.9" or M1 or M2 iPad Air as a good tablet option to carry around on your day-to-day and the pair well with all the other items you have here. I'm currently saving up for the M2 iPad Pro 12.9" but you can also WAIT and buy the M3 iPad Pro which is rumored to have BIG changes compared to other iPads
@@diotitus Just a lot of saving and working a lot of OVERTIME at work. I just bought the M2 iPad Pro a month ago so I’m waiting on the AirPods Pro Max 2 that’s coming out in March and then I’m gonna chill on the Apple purchases lol
@@A.Nel2684 Ah nice that's cool man. I have been gradually building up an Apple ecosystem as well. It won't be as premium or nice as your setup, but I decided to go for one because I was looking to simplify and consolidate my technology under one ecosystem. I chose Apple for the reasoning of the tight integration and the uniformity of the hardware and software while still being able to be compatible with most programs and apps that are on Windows and Android.
I would go for a 2nd hand MBA M1 w/16gb 512gb, IPhone X or 11 but dependent on who’s low light ability is decent enough to film with. I found the beats studio too warm for my ears. I’ll be fine w/ d smaller BT headset. MBA AND IPHONE mic is already great. I would get a generic display. LG perhaps.
Just a few years ago, I only had the iPhone and I swore I would never purchase an Apple product. Now I have the Apple Watch 8, iPad Air, M3 Max MacBook Pro 16, and iPhone 13. Now I cannot imagine having anything else. Also, I have the AirPods Max and they work great.
