Thank you so much for this video. I am a cancer survived who had to give up archery due to the loss of muscle mass during chemo. Last year, I sold all of my bows as I was too weak to pull them. This year, I am in remission, out of chemo and am working on rebuilding muscle mass. I am currently using a borrowed Gensis bow to exercise my upper body muscles and to try shooting again. I am looking for a new bow. I have a weight limit due to a torn rotator cuff and bone spurs in my left shoulder. This video is so wonderful as you go into so much detail about how to properly set up this bow. I have learned so much that I can apply to the bow I may eventually buy. The dragon X8 in one of the bows on my consideration list due to its high degree of adjustibility. Again, thank you for this wonderful presentation.
actualy your DL is not at numb 3 position at 1st but numb 5.. U can look your DL marking beside the cable string at your cam, because u have new type cam system.. the old cam much visible DL marking compare to the new one..
I purchased the Dragon X8 about three months ago for my adult son and I to get started with. We liked it so much that we purchased a second. My honest opinion is they are really good bows! We replaced the rest with whisker biscuits and purchased different arrows so all-in we are about $280 per bow. Super good deal when you consider the alternatives. They shoot really well and the fully adjustable nature of the bow is fantastic. I can't say enough good things about these bows. I appreciate the honest review and it helped us make our decisions. Thanks!
I believe scheels works on bows for free if you have one near you. Not sure if they still do, but someone that worked there told my brother that so he bought strings online from another store and Scheels put them on for free.
Be very choosey on who does your bow work at a scheels or any box store for that matter. Ive fixed no less than a dozen this year at my shop that theyve set up.
Nice, in Australia a good budget bow is the Junxing M120, there are packages that include bow 20-70lb, release aid, sight, rest, quiver and arrows for about $220 AUD which is around $150 USD and it shoots quite nicely
I have been reading reviews and watching tons of RU-vid videos. Yours was the last video I watched and enjoyed the most. I have subscribed for more. I am new to compound bows and have no idea what I'm doing. I've hunted with a crossbow for 25 years due to an auto accident and wasn't able to do this kind of archery. Excited for the new challenge and will be visiting your page for advice. Thanks.
A full kit and it beats an equivalent bear (which BTW is also MIC) bearing in the limbs, tapped directly into the riser but so is the Bear equivalent. I can not fault it. >30 years bowhunting.
Nice dude I can’t wait to get this bow I will be upgrading arrows stabilizer sight rest and release since I’m not really a beginner but not a expert either
I've had a bear whitetail 2 since 1990 or so. Was never impressed by arrow flight off it. Took it to a archery shop recently to upgrade to a capture rest. After the PSE tech adjusted it , Holy man! Totally different bow. Shoots great now. So yes , I agree, a shop set up is soooo worthwhile if you don't know how. Peace!
Thanks a lot for your review. Though I own several other bows, I am going to buy this one because its good value for money. I feel it is so much easier to teach a newcomer with this bow. All the best for 2022!
I found one of these after doing some lookin for a budget product. I bought this bow for my girlfriend as her first ever entry level model. now let me be clear.. this in no way compares to my Mathews phase 4. BUT for 220 odd bucks or so This bow is freakin awsome. you can get it out of the box make a few adjustments and be puttin arrows on target fairly quickly. that being said the accessories are all garbage. and the arrows and literally bottom of the barrel as far as quality. her quick release it came with literally broke within 10 arrows of shooting. replace the garbage rest with a 30 dollar trophy ridge whisker biscuit and throw another 40-50 bucks at a trophy ridge 3-4 pin site and you then spend 30 or 40 more bucks on a tru ball quick release and you have a bow you can legit hunt with for under 320 dollars. DO NOT use the accessories DO replace them and invest in some decent arrows. DO take it in to a pro shop and pay the 30-50 dollars for them to tune it for your shooter. after that its a solid package that will actually allow you to hunt out to 50 yards or so. After I got my phase 4 I passed my bear legit (another really solid budget bow) to my girl and were passing this x8 on to my 13 year old son. the bow itself is worth every penny of what its being sold for.
I bought 2 Chinese brands of bows and sent them back,.....because they were supposed to be 55 pounds. One was like 47 and the other was less,.... right back in the box,......uh yeah the limb bolts were tight.
@@bojannovkovic8818 my old bow was a mathews switchback, it had the single bow Limbs. This one feels more modern and is lighter and smaller its also feels better in the hand when shooting it. Love this bow! The lock back isn't the best tho.
@@Tiger42sI have it too; I was just curious. I like X8, but out of the box, I had to upgrade the rest, release and arrows. I had to tune cam timing and now the bow shoots amazing.
@@bojannovkovic8818 I also did the samething you did. I do a lot of 3D shooting in the woods and I was beating guys with 1,000 dollar bows. The bow this actually a dream. Cheap but super good! 10/10 I love it. I can't believe they make a bow like this
I picked up a Dragon X8 last December, got some Victory arrows from Scheels, and immediately went to paper tune, novice archers need to know about tuning before getting out there. If they go to a bow shop then fine, but if not.... btw, it is Sanlida, pronounced San-leedah
Thank u for an awesome video. I bought one 2 weeks ago. Today I brought it to my local archery shop in Okeechobee, FL and they did a full set up (skull hill atchery) they were awesome and the bow shot perfectly.
I don’t know why nobody is shooting the sanlida velocity x10 from what little I hear about the bow it’s outstanding I’m not saying any names but there’s a archery company saying they make a bow it does have different cams and a cable slide but it’s the exact same bow as the sanlida velocity but it’s 150-200 more and says made in America 😂
Actually not a bad looking bow at all.. and like the clothes that you order online from China they are often smaller than "our" size so I expect nothing less than the 28" DL to really be like a 27" lol
Bought it but the pro series was not available. $200 on Amazon everything is great with the exception of the rest and sling. For around $350 this is a great set up. He says it's heavy @3.5 lbs the Mathews Axis is $1200 bare and 4.9lbs.
I’ve got a Mathews vxr and that thing feels like it ways a ton I started looking around at other bows but anymore they’re all heavy and way to expensive I’m thinking about picking up the sanlida velocity x10 supposed to be a real good bow
Arrows cant really be too long provided they are properly spined. This particular arrow was from a previous set up Id built cut long to help increase arrow weight and weaken the spine.
Im not super super familiar with them. Ive shot the nuclear ice a handful of times. Its an alright bow, I prefer mission, and I prefer the x80 over mission.
Thanks for sharing I'm not at all new to archery but the bow I've been shooting for the past couple years was $15 at the flea market and 4ft long and I think it's time to upgrade to something I can actually use in my deerstand
Been in archery for 25+ years. That being said I have not been an active shooter for 10. Got this bow to ease myself back in and was immediately impressed. Set up was easy and getting it tuned was a breeze. Made some changes but as a opening bow its a great choice. One down side, well 2. The arrows are not good and the release is twitchy. But like he said your local bow shop will be able to help with that.
