"Clacky" is a sound profile, usually used for higher pitched, crisp sounds. He was acknowledging the fact the his blues had this sound and he really liked it. He wasn't asking for clicky switches.
@@matthaefn i know what clacky is, he 100% said clicky if you watch the video again. he was definitely talking about a clicky switch similar to a blue. im sure his friend was still grateful it was just a lighthearted joke and if you would stop being a stickler you would see that.
“In hand” also would work. But in this case I agree “On hand” would be more appropriate, since it usually means you have something in your possession and it’s ready for use. Whereas “in hand” either means literally in your hand, or something that you possess and you want to emphasize that you do in fact possess it, generally if it’s something that’s rare, valuable, etc
@@tenta8206 "clacky" is subjective, especially for someone who doesn't know keyboards.. "like the blues on my current keyboard" is not. It's pretty obvious he wanted clicky
@@tenta8206 you can have smooth or scratchy clickies.. Ex kailh box are much smoother than cherry. Look at the other comments, everyone else also knew he was talking about clickies when he mentioned blues. Casual people don't know what's clacky vs clicky.. I'm sure by clacky he didn't mean "give me a linear switch but shitty stabilizers to make it rattle/clack"
I’ve found with Tofu builds, it definitely NEEDS a deskmat and I even throw in some thin foam on the underside between the four feet. Takes away from that metallic pinging
Friend b obviously had no idea what he was talking about, he most likely wanted a high pitched sound signature and were using blues as a reference, but he also wanted smooth, there’s no switch with a blue sound and smooth linear feel, so it’s better to get a smooth switch with a high pitched sound
Yeah, diving headfirst is a good way to find out what works for you. All the reviews and 4chan threads I saw were telling me that the way to go would be either clicky switches or linear switches, but after trying a bit more and buying some cheap mechanical to use daily I found out that tactiles are the switches for me.
How long is it since the 'chan recommended clicky switches? Don't know if I've seen it, tbh feels like it's usually tactile vs linears. I'm all for tactile too. Feels like linears are, well, too non-tactile, that you get no response from them. Don't like it. Personally gonna get/build my first "serious" mech, a lily58. Once all the parts become available, that is.
I love the video and the time you put into it but for the tofu build, I can’t imagine a lot of people who are new into hobby will be able to realistically get a build with a $99 budget so perhaps show screenshots of the r/mm post if you were to do this again?
Hey Shoobs! Really appreciate the quality of the videos. If there was any possibility, would you be open to uploading a video like this without the steals such as the 90 dollar tofu? Deals like that are quite hard to find, so it would be great if you could make a build that is open to everyone :3
oooofff that space bar on build B made my skin crawl so hollow that sound hurt my soul. But keep in mind I'm team tactile. I can get along with linear gang but clicky gang just scares me.
666 likes, I can' t man, it's too perfect. Hope the "comment engagement" will suffice. edit: A week has passed. It's now at 1.4K likes. As such, you have my like now :D (and another view)
The spacebar on the 2nd keyboard ( 7:24 ) sounds like it was carved out of the bones of his enemies (don't buy your keycaps from dudes in dark alleys, kids)
Thats what I been doing but spent to much trying differnent switches. Need to chill so i can buy some differnt peycaps sown teh road. really want those dualshot 2. Great vid tho.
