Hey guys just something i wanted to add post upload!! As i stated in the beginning of the video I'm not a challenge/speed runner. Most of these builds have a lot of comfortability and utility as well as damage and may be missing some things that you may prefer. That being said if you feel something isnt right with the builds I HEAVILY ENCOURAGE YOU to fix it up yourself!!
I def feel like the GL needs slinger capacity. With IB, the basically cut shelling damage in half. Without the pod, your missing out on half the shelling DPS. I totally get this build is for slaplance though. Just feels like its missing the slinger cap.
You were cooking with the Swaxe build. I prefer comfier skills (evade distance + window, earplugs, power prolonger, etc) but for raw DPS, this is the one
I like you man, but I do have a few critiques on the swaxe build, there is no point of having attack 3, main reason one would want attack boost is for lvl 4, I would swap a medicine deco out with a maintenance, and and put in attack one one the level 3 slot that has maintenance and switch a part breaker for coal one. Besides that it’s pretty good. Keep up the good work!!
I would add onto this: Drop tool specialist 5. Swaxe is a beautiful weapon and beginners don't get to learn and enjoy the flow of it because they are taught to spam ZSD. EW 5 (can drop to 3 as it's comfy enough once player is familiar with monster moveset) to stay aggressive in sword for more damage. Add attack boost and EW from dropping tool specialist. Coalescence as well as you said, always keep level 1 in my build.
As a quick note for the CB: Artillery only works for Impact phials, so if you use an Element phials cb then going for the corresponding element up skill is better
A couple of random nitpicks that might help others: You should probably sub out the Partbreaker on bow for points in Stamina Surge. Drop points in Attack / Normal shots for Element Attack if you intend on running Element Bows. For IG: it's been mentioned, but you forgot Airborne. 30% on Aerial Attacks is huge. No Clutch Claw Boost is rough, especially in multiplayer. Also consider swapping Handicraft/Maintenance for a Handicraft+ if you have one. For CB: No Handicraft on a Savage Axe build is rough. You will almost certainly dip into white/blue sharpness. Consider removing Guard Up: it has maybe 4 relevant uses without any points in Guard: Pin attacks, KT floor Lava, Alatreon floor Ice, and Fatalis Showers. You can very practically get out of all of those with evade window 5 and Evade Extender 3 slotted in as shown here. Also consider that if you're in axe form for savage axe shenanigans, you won't have immediate access to your guard anyways. Quick Sheathe on CB can also be a lifesaver, give it a try if you haven't already. Ultimately, run whatever build you want, these are just nitpicks on fairly solid builds. Happy Hunting!
I had no idea how overly complex the build options are in MH. It's not simply just gear but there are extra level meta jewels/sigils or whatever. Never played MH so not something I know about. Will probably be playing wilds so this is nice to know for now as I guess it will work similar in that game too.
Toot main here! If you are looking for best support HH that can also do dmg, I’d recommend safi blast HH with Attack 2 melodies. That comes with Atk L, Healing S, Health Recovery Up L. Atk and Heals for your squad with feasible dmg. For the safi augments I added the Attack 2 Melody then 4 Attack augments. For standard augments I added Health Regen 2 I don’t really use fatalis HH unless I’m with a solid squad that have health augs on their weapons and don’t need as many heals
Once you have obtained, Hard res decos for elemental damage a much more comfortable set than safi that can compare is Namitreon. Gotta make use for em somewhere. it's actually really good for beating Alatreon. fun element build.
This is great builds but I'm looking at the ls one now and only that one As a chef myself it's definitely a way to cook but that's more suited for people learning the monster and staying alive My build I use personally has max might at lvl 5 Tool specialist at 5 Crit boost/weakness exploit at 3 Agitator and attack boost at 7(thinking of changing) Crit eye is at 4(with all skills active I get 100 affinity) My armor is the full beta set of fatalis except the alpha belt piece with the velk gama legs This build still has room to fill in for skills like handicraft if wanted but I switch it out for heavy artillery for fatty but otherwise That build you made is a solid one for the people who fight for the 1st time or just to get better by surviving
Frostcraft greatsword is not designed for casual play as you cannot have heavy comfort and survivability skills like divine blessing 5 and the FC playstyle relies heavily on you knowing openings for slinger TCS and exclusively hitting the monsters head. For casual play not only is the 4pc fatalis + velhana gamma legs better but BFB makes shattersplitter obsolete the second you slot one latent +4 and you don't even need to lose on any of the core damage skills, not even attack boost 4. For dual blades raw DB loses by a significant margin to any element matchup. Same for bow although its more forgiving as there are more monsters with bad hitzones. Socketing two points of heavy artillery on temporal is only for fatalis to save you if you catch aggro while using the roaming ballista/one shot binder. It's pointless outside of that and temporal mantle is very bad for casual play as it has a high cooldown and activating it's effect reduces how long it stays active. Socketing any elemental attack on anything that isn't DB/Bow/elemental LBG(which requires full safijiva armor which is very casual unfriendly) is just a waste of sockets due to how elemental damage is handled in world. These are mostly nitpicks but your charge blade build is just criminal. You do not need guard points to activate offensive guard as you can just last minute hold the block button with a very forgiving margin and not having skills like peak performance/coalescence is a massive damage downgrade due to the multi hit effect of savage axe. Guard up and evade window 5 are also counterintuitive to run together and having no handicraft on savage is mental. I get the caveat added in the comments, but did you really need the clickbait title?
I have a gripe with the “less reloading equals more damage” claim. Because if i have 30 ammo total, it doesn’t matter if i reload after every shot, or after every 5th shot, it will still equal the same amount of damage if i hit all 30 shots
For gunlance I recommend going for raging brachy gloves alpha instead of kulve taroth legs, it has lvl 3 artillery and lvl 2 agitator so really important skills for gunlance
Pleased to see build guides are still being made in this climate. Whilst I don’t particularly rely on them frequently, it’s always good to have a frame of reference for seeing what kind of builds are particularly effective. I can tell you put a lot of effort into this Tera, cheers mate.
they are ok builds I guess if you are showcasing some endgame possibilities, but not "the best". if you want to go evade window Charge Blade you really only need 2 evasion, or if you are good, 1 jumping/evasion. Maxing them out seems like such a waste there is a lot better decos to be running, like the artillery you mentioned. Don't like the Dual Blade one either, you sacrifice way too much damage just for the convenience of having raw type and a little extra defense. Dual blades really only need vitality 2 sprinter 2 evade 1 blight 3. The rest should be damage, and you should be switching elements if needed or just not playing DB if you want raw.
Something that bothers me a little is when you showcase a 4 fatalis 1 Velkhana set you use Velk legs and Fatty head which I feel isn't really that good since Fatty head only has stun immunity and Velk legs have PP 3 with a level 4 + a level 2 slot, while if you did Velk head that has coalescence 3 + resuscitate, 2 level 4 + a level 1 slot while fatty legs give a much more useful Evade Window 1; but I guess it's a matter of preference and decos, I definitely don't have phoenix jewels as good as yours
@@jay3893550 You can use an elementless jewel to make it stronger. It also has auto reload pierce 3s so you can just use 4 close range up mods and a wyvernheart type 2 mod without worrying about recoil and reload speed.
@@jay3893550 Yes because it already has good recoil and reload to begin with. This means you could just use 4 close range up mods and a wyvernheart type 2 mod. As an added bonus, the elementless jewel is compatible with this hbg so you can increase its damage even more.
Lightbreak cannon has auto reload on pierce 3s so you don't need recoil mods, reload mods, and mag size decos. This leaves more space for damage mods and damage decos. For example, I use 4 close range up mods and a wyvernheart type 2 mod. As an added bonus, the lightbreak cannon can use the effect of the elementless jewel deco because it has no elemental ammo.
Airborne is definitely functional and PLEASE don't think his build is the best because it is not. A real best build obviously doesn't exist in MH but Tera definitely is no IG main. As you already said: Airborne is not in there, but it should be in there its 30% more damage. Also no flinch free lvl 3 and earplugs lvl 2 (unique synergy for IG), no evade extender, his bug is purely cosmetic and NOT the best. All in all his build is good for people who don't really know the weapon but it's not the best by a long vault...
Great vid as someone who is stuck at Alatreon and looking ahead but please add music name in description or something. I was jamming hard while watching but I have no idea where the music is from (someone please tell me)
No jump attack boost (airborne) on a hammer?..... I think that sharpness would be better then partbreaker, because your overall damage is same, but you need to sharpen it less, which means more damage, so you will get less distracted for sharpening and your purple sharpness will last longer. Also, about defense boost augment, it does stack with divine blessing, which means more survivability. the damage loss is so minimal, you are getting much more defense boost in % then damage boost in % from elemental damage boost in comparison. (lvl 1 of defense boost augment 15% chance to reduce damage taken by 30%, can sometimes stack with divine blessing and can work on it's own if divine blessing does not proc)
Small correction: the way all Divine blessing-type effects work in MHW is by using the highest values only for proc % chance and damage reduction%. Multiple divine blessing -type effects do not roll independantly
@@acidlizard7774 defense augment does not proc on its own if you have another divine-blessing-type skill. this applies to: -Divine Blessing -Defense Augment -Hunting Horn Divine Blessing -Palico Cheerhorn Divine Blessing -Felyne Defender (Hi or Lo) They all use the Highest Proc% chance and Highest Damage reduction% as 1 collective when you mix and match.
@@MaejXIV I thank you for the information! btw, I've tanked 2 most charged fireballs of fatalis without blocking and survived. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-AqIPZZ8rSdE.html
Hwy tera how do i stop wanting to punch my monitor trying to get to master rank (never player any mh before, world is first) i just beat nergigante after 6 tries, first three tries trying regular HH progression gear, 2 tried on azure starlord+longsword build, last one i cheesed with defender hammer +starlord set and i felt bad doing it
Some weapons I find are fine without it when using certain combos! With the right positioning and timing you won't be interrupted by friends so easily!
flinch free doesn't do as much as you think it does. If you are in an action you can't be flinched, so if you know your combos well enough to go from one action to another it should rarely be a problem. even 1 deco is pretty big so you shouldn't waste it on something that's just nice when you are talking about "the best". These builds aren't really it though, for other reasons. They are all rounders and have too much defense compared to damage. You seriously don't need to max out evade or evade extender. 3 evade is an insanely long i-frame. 2 evade, even old tired men can dodge most things in MHW if they are not panicking. With vitality 3 and gear upgrades you don't die randomly, you always feel tanky, except against the final DLC bosses. Which are all DPS checks that really could use a blight resistance 2/ coalescence setup that you could fit in the same deco slots. If you want to make a fight easier to survive in, chuck on a piece of gear that has speed eating 2. Adding deco bloat is bad.
I started playing mw last 2 days i am struggling with armor and weapon idk was is the best weapon to use against these master rank monsters and ice dlc monsters its so confusing
There is no use this weapon against this monster. You gotta find a weapon you jive with well and keep using it any weapon can beat any monster. All dependent on you though
Look I’ve been playing since about day1 but I’ve never really played solo, or even looked for a solo build, I also am very new to the DLC, so if anyone has any advice or recommendations for solo builds please HIT ME UP!!!!
@@initiumnovum4552 you only benefit from Focus if you want to reload as many phials as possible in a shorter time and smoother animation, which isn't the case for SA. As I observe, it's only 1~2s difference in phials recharge between the 2 builds. In the other hand, Power Prolonger provides 70s more to charged Shield and 24s more to powered Axe duration, helps you stay longer in SA mode hence deal more dmg.
@@initiumnovum4552 hes right, focus is a bait. A lot of people think it double dips, but it doesn't. It basically makes only the sword double hit charge up faster. Which is nice and can lead to more charges gained, but it doesn't really change whether you can transfer a combo into an axe slam, and it doesn't speed up getting the phials very much. You should go raging brachy armour, artillery 5, agitator 7, magazine 1, vitality 3, guard 1 in every impact build for CB. Usually from there people go attack and either 2 blight res coalescence setup or maximum might/ protection.
I personally feel like it only makes sense for elemental damage to be rewarded over raw damage at least a tiny bit, after all, isn't this game all about being rewarded for being properly prepared for the hunt ahead of you? Like, it feels a bit silly to put in all that extra work only to be met with the same damage with a single build that is just as good against everything. There will be meta chasers that will make you think that element is the only valid way to play, but, like... meta chasers will do it no matter what the meta is, and listening to them as a casual player will always be kinda silly. But while we're fixing element, there's something that needs to be addressed: The way Rise made element be viable for every weapon was to give slower weapons optional faster playstyles, but when you stop and think about, there's literally no reason why elemental damage needs to be correlated with faster movesets. All the weapon types have the same raw attack values under the inflated values in World anyways, and yet it doesn't make them better or worse at raw, because it's literally all in motion values, and there's no reason to make the percentage of hit that is made up by elemental damage be comparable no matter how fast you hit, it's all just numbers. Don't get me wrong, some weapons being *better* or *worse* at elemental damage isn't inherently a bad idea, but the focus on it absolutely should be *viable* on all of them. It's something that we as humans tend to do, make up our systems to make complex stuff simpler and easier to interact with, to offload all the heavy thinking onto "the way things just work", but when we forget that we made up the systems and we can change them, and start treating them as the rules of how the world itself works, that's where the problems start.
As IG main i have to say, the build is fine but not best. Flinch free lvl 1 is a waste for IG since flich free lvl 3 and earplugs lvl 2 gives complete immunity for all monster roars and also good wind and tremor resistance. Evade window lvl2 is nice to have but people who can't dodge well, don't really profit from just lvl 2 anyways. Much better would be evade extender lvl 2 in EVERY case where have to chose either one or the other. Why? Because evade extender lvl 2 gives you the ability to follow almost every monster after a topple or flinch, whithout landing first, effectively making evade extender a dps skill for IG. Also you have more evasion distance which is obviously perfect for IG. And last but not least: This is the IG... so where the heck is the airborne deco for 30% more damage? YOU MISS 30% braindead damage and call it best build!!!!! Heretic! Praise the bugstick!
Fatalis armor is doing 99% of the work while the other 1% is the same "crit, crit, crit, agitator, attack boost." Fatalis builds are kinda... useless? Just slap everything you have and it's fine, you are always over powered in that armor. Also, those are not even the best you can do, so this video is also clickbait
