The BEST Camping Spot at Big Bear Lake! 🤫

Tent camping has a certain magic about it! 🏕 Being one with nature as you disconnect from technology can be so relaxing and rejuvenating! This week we head over to Big Bear Lake to do some tent camping of our own. We do a lot of relaxing, breathing in the fresh mountain air, and still manage to fit in our favorite activities of hiking and playing games. 🥾
Hanna Flats Campground is a campers dream tucked away in the San Bernardino Mountains. ⛰ So secluded that you need to drive down a 2.5-mile bumpy dirt road to get there! We have found the best spots for you to relax and enjoy, so you don’t have to worry about a thing on your trip!
Our FAVORITE sites:
Site 54- Our Site In the video. Large site with a mix of sun and shade situated next to a creek.
Site 57- A more secluded site that you walk down a short path too, with shade and a view of the mountain.
Site 23- A non-reservable site that is tucked in a secluded corner with unmarked trails behind to enjoy.
Being here this week reminded us how nice it is to take a step away from everything and just slow down and enjoy the moments and this beautiful Earth. 🌎

Thanks! We have loved the drone so far, and love when we are in areas that we can fly it❗️ The Hanna flats/Big Bear Lake area is so nice, and this month has been the first time we have ever been. It is great how close it is to where we are living right now, and a nice escape from the heat!

We love tent camping! Especially in places we can’t bring the RV. There is something very peaceful about it! Big Bear is amazing and would definitely recommend visiting! Breakfast sandwiches are always the best when camping! What is your favorite camping food?! ~ Brandon and Maggie

Come on, bacon is a staple of life!! It's good anytime of day or night!! LOL. We are past tent camping now that we are retired. Love Big Bear Lake. Spent some time up there when I was a kid, back in the early 60's. So quiet some time ago, probably a lot different now. Love that camp spot. Great video. Will be following you. Thanks for sharing

@@RVthere Our kids love Monopoly. We have a deal with them.. that if it is a rainy day we will play it. Last time we played.. our daughter had mom out of the game in like 15 minutes and Dad within an hour. She does not let us forget :)

@@RVthere Great spot for sure!! As far as RV spots, we have just been to our permanent location. We explore with our van and hands down our favorite spot is Telluride, CO. Love that place!

Yes I think I would love to check out that camp ground, the dogs are so cute!!🐾🐾I cant wait to get another little love in my life. I lost my baby of 14 years to heart problems. She was my best friend. Tequila was her name and she was a papillon black and white. Next will be a rescue 🐕 dog, so who knows what kind. But the right one will camp just like your boys!! ❤️this is lady from California 😘✌🏼

We rescued Donald and there is just something about him, he is just always so happy and wants to be with us all the time. 🐻 I am sure the one you rescue will be amazing, and let us know when you do we would love to see pictures‼️

RV there? We are currently at a campground in the smoky mountains work camping for a while. We also work camped in a state park in Eufaula Alabama that was beautiful. We also stayed at a campground in Kentucky and a nice naturey campground in NE Tennessee. I have not edited and posted those videos yet, but I will. Lately we are posting videos about adventures in the smoky mountains because there are lots of things to do in this area.

Hi! Yes I (Maggie) was dying when Brandon was trying to swing himself in the hammock!!! Oh we are very familiar with cards blowing all over the place. 🤣 Sometimes we try to stack things to make a little wind barrier or move the table to be where the truck can block some of the wind! Nice video! That seemed like a cool trail. We like to hike trails that are 5 miles and under. We have often thought about buying a tent to do overnight trips or even try sleeping in the back seat area of our truck.

We love when trails are right off the campground! No need to drive anywhere! We love having the tent and going on a weekend trip! It is such a different experience and brings us closer to nature! @@RVthere We don't live full-time in the 5th wheel. We use it for camping in the summer (28 days this summer!) and for long cross-country trips. We've taken it to Yellowstone, Mt. Rushmore, Wisconsin Dells, the New England states, and Kentucy/Tennessee. There's just not enough time to see all the beautiful places in our country.

Hi! Bacon really is amazing! 🥓 What is your favorite camping food? We loves our Mavic, sadly it is now at the bottom of Big Bear Lake..... One another trip (they kayaking with the dogs) the drone lost connection and just dove right into the lake. 😳 So we just decided it was time to upgrade, got the Mavic 2 Zoom and Brandon is loving it so far! That looks like a delicious breakfast. It is absolutely beautiful. Your pups are so cute. So relaxing. Love the drone footage. He’s a little eager. 😂😂. Almost as eager as the pups. Definitely need a little shade for those thicker coated fur babies. Nothing like relaxing after a great hike. You need a rope tied to the tree to pull yourself with to get that hammock going. Never played Wizard(s). We will have to give it a try. Big Bear Lake looks amazing. That’s what Scout does too. Dirt vs. bed gets to be a major- what are you doing?

Aw thanks they are our spoiled fur babies!!!! Donald 🐻 loves the shade but surprisingly Gurley 🐶 with his full coat loves to lay out in the sun! 🤣 Love that Scout does it too! It is so funny, like come on dude lay on the nice cool bed that will keep you clean...never fails they all love the dirt! He does love the drone and even more now that we just upgraded! Big Bear Lake is amazing and would definitely recommend 👍🏻 if ever in the area!! A rope that is BRILLIANT!!!! 🙌🏻 Will do that next time! Wizard is so fun! We love games and have many two player! Right now though we are on a backgammon and farkle marathon 🤣🤣

Great video. Question...... did you see RVs at the Campground? Is the drive up to the campground easy enough for a RV?

Hey! So we did one RV and then we saw some people who had the truck bed ones! This area is more for tent camping. Most of the sites you have to walk down a short path and there is just place enough to park your vehicle. It is beautiful and would recommend going there for sure if you are in the area! The road to get to the campground is a little rough so I would recommend just driving slow! There are a few RV parks in the area that look really nice too depending on your rig size! There were several small RVs there so you should be good! 👍🏻 I believe the size limit for RVs was around 25 feet but I would check their website to be sure! 👉🏻 www.recreation.gov/camping/campgrounds/232249 👈🏻 Also, that van sounds AWESOME!!!

So funny story, I don’t know if you have ever been to ALDI, but we actually got them in their what we call their “random” aisle for I think 30 dollars a piece. 🤣 They are so nice though, we have seen other people have them in the past and it has always been something that we have said those are nice we should get some but never did. Now that we have them we wish we had purchased them earlier. You could probably find them at Walmart (I saw one online for 40) or Target. I just looked on amazon and you can buy a pair for just over 100. Hope you can find them and enjoy‼️

Doing nothing is the perfect thing to do on vacation. How come you guys didnt bring the trailer? We've been looking for a nice place to stay in Big Bear with our trailer.

So the campground that we were at our RV was to long for the spots! We also do love to tent camp so like to do that every once in a while! There are some good places to bring your RV up there to explore! Big Bear Shores RV Park looks so nice! More expensive but from The pictures the look amazing! We have wanted to stay there a few weekends but I’m they were booked! If you go let us know how it is!!! ✌🏻Maggie and Brandon

It is a hard choice Brandon say the avacado chips by boulder and for me while I do love corn chips and salsa I love a classic ruffle! Now we are both hungry 🤣🤣🤣
