The best cape buffalo charge ever caught on film, unwounded, unprovoked!!
A classic and perfect shape for any buffalo hunter. This cape buffalo bull has the perfect combination of curl, bosses, drop, mass and spread... We hunted buffalo for several days and we saw this monster bull over the heat of the day in a riverbed.
This was in fact a bull I had seen on a prior hunt, in this same river, we saw him from quite a ways away and after going through some thick brush on the river bank, the buffalo eluded us, never to be seen again!
Some time later, we see the very same buffalo, unbeknown to us at the time, relatively close to where I had filmed him before...
It is very important to note and also emphasise that this buffalo was unwounded and unprovoked in any way!
We made the perfect stalk on him after getting the wind right, we made our way closer... with only a side view for the longest time, we weren't quite sure of what we were looking at yet. By the time the buffalo turned, quite aggressively, he snorted at us in a spectacular fashion, at this point not offering a shot facing us. At this time we could very clearly tell, it was not only a good buffalo, but a nice old buffalo bull with all the features we could have hoped for! This has to be the best buffalo charge ever. The fact that he was unwounded and unprovoked and just decided to come at us in a full buffalo charge in spectacular fashion. As the dust settled, and the emotions and the reality started sinking in, it felt so surreal, but we were also very blessed that everything turned out the way it did. We couldn't have asked for it to end any better... Cape buffalo charges in hunting is not such a rare thing in itself, but having an unprovoked and unwounded buffalo charge and to capture it on video and both hunter and PH to make the perfect shots is indeed a rare sight. The best cape buffalo charge, the best cape buffalo hunt no doubt! With the perfect monster trophy buffalo bull and the best cape buffalo charge video to go along with it!
Cape buffalo hunting is one of the most exciting and exhilarating hunts any big game hunter can dream of and this was indeed a dream hunt. A charging buffalo is also a dream for many hunters but after the dust settles, the thrill loses it's shimmer when standing over the beast with the afterthought of what could have happened. Especially if you've seen what damage a cape buffalo can do and how powerful these animals truly are. It is best seen when cape buffalo bulls fight, or after a buffalo bull goes down and the other bulls fiercely starts hammering him. To see how hard and what damage buffalo can inflict on one another you quickly realise what can happen should it go wrong when a buffalo charges.
It is with utmost importance that you book your dangerous game hunts/ big five hunts with an experienced and reputable outfitter.
We are here to help and offer our guidance so please feel free to get in touch with any hunting enquiries. We work with reputable outfitters not only throughout Africa but the world.
This is why you should have your hunts filmed by Melcom Van Staden Productions. So if you're interested in having your hunting adventures captured on film to share with friends and families, get in touch, we would love to accompany you on your next safari - Melcom Van Staden Productions, Rooikop Filmmaker: www.melcomvans...

I agree 100%. I’ve no idea why the PH waited for the Buffalo to charge. That’s reckless. I suppose a case can be made that you have a very experienced client whom you trust implicitly to not screw it up, and said well paying client requests this opportunity, perhaps. No other situation I can envision warrants taking this risk.

I wish these RU-vid videos would stop overdubbing the dramatic movie music. It doesn't work to create drama, which I suppose is the intent. It's just annoying. I'd rather hear the silence, hunters whispering to the guide, etc. That's much more dramatic than loud, epic sounding music.

I agree, the music on some of these vids is downright obnoxious. And it actually takes effort to add it in the first place. I can understand cleaning up bad audio, or low-volume music to help smooth over bad audio, but it should never be intrusive.

If you think Craig Boddington in his book African rifles who has shot over 100 Buffalo and has seen them shot with every conceivable type of rifle and Jim Carmichael editor of Outdoor life who has shot 80 + Buffalo as armchair theorist, go right ahead. I've never been to Africa never shot a Buffalo but I believe their experience speaks for itself.

Wow. Look at all of those hateful negative comments. Were you all forced to watch this or something? Was the ending a surprise? Yeah, that's not my idea of a fun hunt either, but so what? You have to spew hate? Bottom line is that everything dies. That's right, every animal in the world including you (if you're VERY lucky) has one bad day. This animal didn't have so much as a bad second. Perhaps you would have been happier if it was eaten alive by soft cuddly lions? We should all be so lucky and every hunter so proficient. I think we would all be grateful if you all simply went about your way and watched something else on RU-vid. In the meantime, keep your hateful thoughts to yourselves, and enjoy your steaks, burgers and leather belts that you paid someone else to kill for you. Honestly your comments reek of such outlandishly “woke” jargon that you have unintentionally advertised yourselves as a self-parody of overly fragile, grievance-mongering pseudo-intellectuals that in reality don't have a clue...

Nothing goes to waste in Africa. Meat protein is a vital commodity in Africa. Hunter, guides and trackers eat some small portion of meat around the camp fires. The remainder is turned over to the local chef-tons or numerous orphanages. The hunters take the trophies . So it is a win/ win situation. Many Americans, Europeans have never been truly hungry, so they do not understand.

Why can’t locals just hunt for themselves?
@paulbrungardt9823
@paulbrungardt9823 2 года назад
@@brucepoole8552 That is a good question; it deserves a good answer. Good game management is not random killing of an animal. Locals will kill the easiest animal indiscriminately with snares, traps or spears. Popular media tends to portray a romanticized version of tribal hunting. Good game management is scientifically determined culling of no more than 10% of the older male population and 15% of older, non fertile females. This culls the population of non reproductive animals and prevents over grazing. Also, the herds must be cared for; this requires money. Game ranchers pump water up from deep underground wells. This prevents herd deaths in the dry/ hot African summers. This requires ten of thousands of dollars. Mother nature and random events are not good for the herds. I hope this sheds some light on this subjects.

@@brucepoole8552 I have hunted numerous times in South Africa, Botswana & Zimbabwe. These countries have well developed game management programs based on hunting. The number of big game animals in those countries exceeds the number of animals in 1650 ( when Dutch settlers colonized South Africa). Contrarily, Kenya has a "no hunting policy". The herds are in danger of extinction because animals have no value, poaching is rampant. There is no financial value of the herds.

I agree the music is distracting and could be leveled down a bit. It would have been much nicer if the sport had a chance to get off two rounds before the PH shot and actually killed the Buffalo. That way if his two shots took the animal down he could say (with the PH's help) that he dropped the Buffalo. I understand the reason the PH took the shot but in my heart I would always wonder 1.) did the PH have any confidence in me and, 2.) could I have taken the animal with my shooting? Expecting a sport to drop a Buffalo with only one shot and not giving a chance for a follow up would ruin the hunt for me.

Yes a little odd they waited to be charged before firing. Almost seems like they goaded the buff into charging, notice the warning charge before the possibly committed one, no one commented on that , that I could see. Also remarkable how much mucus that animal was snorting out nostrils and mouth. Interesting they did not hold their weapons at "battle ready" position at the shoulder. Maybe an example of how to make life more dangerous than it needs to be?
