I have one which is exactly the same, but goes by the name Koolertron. Yes it can glitch after a short period of time, or a much longer period of time. I am on my third unit now after having these problems BUT there is a fix and it took me until my third unit before I figured it out!. Like a lot of Chinese electronics, if it has power running to it even though it is switched off, after a while it will fail. For example I had a Chinese ice making machine which I left plugged in with the mains power on (even though the machine was switched off at the machine) but after a while it failed. When you switch it off at the wall socket for a few minutes, then switch it back on again it will work perfectly for a while (sometimes a long time). With my Koolertron version of this machine, when it failed I unpluged the car battery for a few minutes, it fixed all the problems and worked properly again (a bit like switching off a modem/router when the wireless signal fails). I am having other electrical work done on my car later in the year, so I will get them to install a switch which cuts the battery power so I can re-set my Koolertron when this happens. The point is that it is an excellent unit, packed with features and if it needs to be re-set occasionally, I don't have a problem with that.
@@NutzAboutBolts Actually the only way I found out about it was when my car battery died and I had to get a new one. Once the new battery was installed all the faults with the unit were fixed and that is when I realised what the problem was - as I said I was on my third unit by then. The first one was replaced under warranty, the second one I got failed after a while so I bought another one off ebay and that one failed, except it came back to life when I got my new car battery. At least I know how to fix it now!
Thanks for the updates on the failure of this unit in your other videos. I was thinking of replacing mine with the Seicane, but I will not do so. I am really glad you took the time and effort to post the updates.
Why've you gotta be so difficult and shifty about why not to buy this, trying to force us to dig through years of your Facebook page. Please just inform us of the issues you found.
after some digging, here's what i found: the issue has to do with the unit resetting its time and user preferences every time it shuts off. it sounds like a faulty battery inside the unit's board, but i've never seen the unit's guts and i'm guessing - it just sounds like the exact issues you'd see with a computer, laptop or game console that can't hold date and time when powered off.
I had the 10.1in screen 8.0 and I had to return it to seicane and get money back. I loved the location of it because it doesn't require the pocket to be removed bit it felt extremely cheap for the price I payed.
Sir! I have a 2007 Honda Accord EX 2.4L and have watched your videos for years because of your attention to detail. It all started with your brakes video. I use it every time, just to remember not to forget everything. Please do a beginner upgrade video to squeeze out a little more out of our beast on a budget
That was very simple to put in. Honda makes it simple. As some cars take so long to take so many parts out just to put a sat nav and take old radio out.
Koolertron makes a similar unit, while the one I put in my son's 06 Accord is only been in the car less than a month, it has nothing but praise from us. I think it is cheaper as well. Easy to put in.
@@NutzAboutBolts I got it off Ebay. About $350, hooked up a backup camera to it, which was harder than putting the radio in. Running that wire was not easy. Will try to give you a six month report. So far my son loves it.
Very true. Thats why it didnt bother me at all, it adds some aesthetic to the car. On a different note, I had a question about shaking coming from the engine. Its a 2007 accord EX-L Whenever I'm stopped with the car in drive, the engine shakes the whole car. I had the motor mounts replaced about 2 months ago and everything was smooth up until last week. Now it just idles rough and I've decided to just sell the car. If I can fix the issue I might keep the car though. I've been watching your videos for a year now and saved tons of money fixing other issues with the car but this shaking is driving me nuts. I'm about to just give up on it.
its probably the engine mount if you replaced it and it went away and came back. Probably a bad aftermarket mount. You can also try cleaning your EGR system, that can cause rough idles but that can cause a check engine light as well if its bad.
That's a lot of effort and expense for some 2005 looking tech. Better off with just a single DIN in the bottom slot with bluetooth. Google Maps and a phone holder for navigation instead of that slow ass software
I see that radio was glitchy from the comments it looked like such a nice unit touchscreen and CD player I was gonna ask the model information maybe they have a updated model with CD player by now!
I bought this head unit, everything installed GREAT! This video was EXTREMELY helpful, as was his video on how to remove the factory radio and re-install the factory radio.👍 In addition to installing this head unit, I installed a backup camera that comes on automatically and displays on this headunit as soon as you put it into reverse. Climate controls, steering wheel controls, navigation, sdcard/USB media reader, radio, all that works great. The only problem I'm having so far is, the Bluetooth pairs with my iPhone but it won't pair with my wife's Google Pixel (android). Which is great for me but the head unit is in her car so it really needs to work for her Google Pixel. Has anyone else had problems getting the Bluetooth to work with android phones and if so were you able to solve the problem?
TheMaster13 thanks for your review. I have a Google pixel and I'm thinking about purchasing this with the rear view camera for my Honda. Did you get it to work for your wife's phone? Would you recommend purchasing this unit?
Hi Angel F, I was not able to get this head unit to work with my wife's Pixel. I reached out to Seicane to see if they had a solution (firmware update, setting option, etc...) to fix the problem and they were slow to respond. Another issue we encountered with this head unit was that on the A/C vent controls, when you select vent air to your feet, our head unit did not seem to be able to do that. Also the response time on the A/C controls was a little laggy. By about 2 seconds I would say. It was adaptable, but was a bit of an annoyance. Since the vent controls wouldn't blow air to your feet, (it's gotten cold here and having warm air on your feet is nice to have) and since the fixes Seicane eventually suggested to fix the bluetooth/Android Pixel problem, and since the A/C controls were laggy, and other little qwerks like the clock stays at 12:00am for about 3 or 4 minutes after you get in the car and other small things, ultimately, i had to put the original head unit back in my wife's car. Which was unfortunate because this REALLY seemed like the "Silver Bullet" that would provide so many of the features we were wanting(BIG backup camera monitor, bluetooth, navigation, all in a seamless and stock looking package). What I've done alternatively is (since I already ran the backup camera) I bought a rear view mirror with an LCD screen that connects to the backup camera and automatically turns on when the car is in Reverse. I also installed a separate bluetooth module to the auxiliary port of the stock radio. The aux port on our stock radio is underneath the radio and could only be accessed by pulling the stock radio out. The bluetooth module works great. Right out of the box it works with Honda's steering wheel controls. It will pause music playing from any source when you have an incoming or out going phone call, it connects automatically when you get into your car, and MOSTLY, it works just fine with my wife's Pixel. There are videos on youtube on how to install the bluetooth module. I don't mean to discourage anyone from getting this product, I just found that it was not a good fit with our setup. Let me know if you're interested in links to the products I ended up using with our current setup (which she loves btw). I hope all this helps you out.
Wow TheMaster13, yes I would love links to checkout your alternative items that work! I'm so happy I found your review before purchase, I really would have been disappointed since it doesn't work with my phone. Thank you so much for your honest review :)

No volume knob is the first thing I noticed. I don't like volume buttons so that is automatic no go for me. I know the steering wheel has volume buttons. ButI don't won't to get used to using them and then reach for them in my pick up which doesn't have steering mounted volume buttons.
So the kit doesn’t fit proper without removing the factory pocket?! It’s on sale from 928$US, to 320$US? Why? Massive malfunctions? Has anyone actually spent a thousand dollars on this POS?! Haha
Hi there. Firstly, love your videos and how well you present maintenence and other tasks on this car as i own the same year model. Best on the tube! When you refer to single Ac, is that in regards to the vehicle having dual or single zone climate control function? Mine happens to be dual. Thanks again for all your efforts to assist others and save ppl money!
Single AC is like the one in this video, dual would have driver and passenger AC function. If you google for images, you can compare them to your vehicle. You can also send the company an image of your radio unit and they can match the Navi. Unit that fits for your car. I hope that helps :)
Only if I knew about this a while back. Had a issue during winter when I messed up my climate control, after installing a Metra replacement. Good now though, have a Pioneer radio where the lower pocket is. Only thing is the display on the top doesn't work.
Unit itself looks clean, but the os looks so cheap and outdated. It's also sad that you have to remove the lid of the storage box, because now it doesn't look as clean. Edit : Can you put an different os on it?
@@HalferLandPerformance "Check my channel", you could link the video directly instead but alright. *looks through channel, finally finds it* Reviews a similar one, doesn't post a link or any info. *Checks comments* "Oh I don't have a direct link, just look for it" bruh make me go through all that just to tell me to look for it.... smh Don't say you "recommend" one when you don't give any info about it
@@josuemontalvo221 yea hes video is retarded too and he had to buy 2 units to get it working and doesnt even post link of the one he buys but says look in comments...
Good video. I am interested. But How are the buttons? My original is 13 years old and running smooth. It will all be a fiasco if the buttons are plasticky and touch screen is callous.
I've had mine for a couple of years and I've been having a problem...as soon as I power it on, I get the H loading page, then "primo..." and then I get a window that reads "unsupported voice" and it says to "please see log box." and it wont go to the main page. I have to close the window, turn the radio off and back on again for it to go to the main screen.
Hey guys, I don't know if this is still on debate. But I would recommend you "Xtrons Accord CL7 VII MK7" it has a capacitive touchscreen but it costs € 369 - 389. No volume knob either, but full climate control capability. I'll be getting one soon for my Accord. Right now I have a CD Changer mod AUX conversion where I can hook up a phone and have music CD quality that way. Would be enough for you as well maybe.
The NAV unit looks so cheap, look at the interface. I am chinese myself and this is definately some cheap head units running on old OS like windows mobile.
Thanks for sharing it looks nice. Question: while you play on the usb port can you navigate on the screen? Or listen to music? Or add back up camera to this?
I haven't mess with the USB yet, but if you are listening to the radio and you have your navigation on and its giving you directions, the navigation override the radio and tells you the directions before it starts playing the music again. You can add a back up camera to this set up, they have the harness and wire for it. You just have to tap into the reverse cable and reverse lights wire for the camera. They have a wire and a wireless set up.
Has the Chinese unit gone bad yet? You should be on driveaccord.net more to find out that there are problems with these units, unless they've fixed it, especially the HVAC issue.
I just brought a similar radio everything works except for heat and ac...on some units I seen a decoder box...you find any solution how to make these functions work?
hey body I got the same it looks great and works great except that the video it doesn't show in the screen. do you have any idea why did you have this problem too?
I bought a similar head unit for my 2004 Honda ex the radio works fine but My climate control doesn’t work my fan runs all the time but none of the buttons work I have hooked it up both ways as a single and duel climate any suggestions
Oh man! Great videos! Now I'm considering to buy. Wonder how long it'll take for shipping 🇨🇦! Any discount promo codes anything from you!? When CAN$ to US$ it'll bit pricy for me.
since you posted this video I have seen a lot of negative reviews on Seicane. I know you've only installed it a few weeks ago, but can you tell me if you have had any issues with the unit? I am looking to install a head unit that replaces the factory stereo and not just another radio that you install in the lower cubby hole.
I've read their negative reviews as well. Some people complain their unit stops working after 3 months, I will be giving an update in a couple months. It's hard to say for now since it's early, but it's a nice unit with Honda logo. You can research for other units and let me know. This is better than those small cubby hole units for sure lol
I have a honda accord 2007 3.0 with the same exact model of screen and it doesnt work the sound, all the functions seems to be fine, but the only problem is that it doesnt sound. Do you know about any bug that screen can have?
Question for you..i want to put in a 2004 tsx cylinder head with 06 tsx cams and cam gear in my 06 accord..will it work without having to trade pistons..
Just saw this video and the CD changer in my accord EXL no longer works. Does this work with factory XM Antenna? Also I noticed you said not to buy it in an update? Is there something wrong with it?
Can you run subs on some kind of setup like this? I don’t know much about hooking radios up but I want to put this in my Honda and have subs in the back
Great video! I wonder should i order this kind of product for my 03 accord. If you think that the screen and those buttons can take like -20 degree celcius in winter (without freeze or snapping off), then, no problem. Right now im using china-made adapter plugged into a cd changer port, but the sound quality is awful and it is fading bass almost completely.
I will give an update in a couple of months. I've heard read the reviews about this company about how their unit breaks down after 3 months. I wanna try it out before letting you guys know. I also ordered their reverse camera to install as well. As of now, the Nav. unit is working nicely, I wish the Accord has better speakers and sub woofers lol.
Hey you still have that radio on your car? How is it I was looking thru it but it’s a Chinese type and people have been telling me they aren’t that good since you have it hook up how is it been
I have the same unit on my accord and I started having problems with it weeks after installation. The navigation card reader cant read the card, Bluetooth doesn't work properly, the list goes on.
You know what, I like the original radio much better. The button are so ergonomic you can access them by feel without looking. and who tf needs a remote in a car, worse yet a touch screen ?! that's only makes the interface less ergonomic and more troublesome. GPS navg is the only plus.
As long as it looks very good, I just bought a second hand Accord 2.4 vtec 2003, with exactly this unit installed, and it works horrible. The touch screen pretty much does not react; I tried to calibrate it but still. The steering wheel buttons do not obey. DO you think reseting could solve it? ANyways, I don't know the password for the factory settings. If it's trash, any unit you could recommend to install instead? Thanks.
Hi has there been any updates on this unit to improve it? Also my 2005 Honda Accord V6 also has Sirius XM radio, do you of a model similar to this one. I need one with Sirius XM.
Hey I was wondering if you still have this radio? I was looking for the proper CANBUS codes in the factory settings page, the A/C controls on mine are not working correctly.
We do but if your ac controls not working on this unit, I would reinstall the oem radio unit and see if it works on that. If not, I would look further into it, if it’s the harness or the radio unit itself.
@@NutzAboutBolts thanks for the reply! I just don't get anything on the screen and I can't see what temp is set, otherwise all buttons work and are also illuminated when I switch the lights. The CANBUS code was set to "NO" when I got the radio, went back and forth with Seicane but they gave me code 46 which is Jeep... Tried that with no success and tried a bunch of HONDA settings but none work. :(
