The BEST career mode I've ever seen in a boxing video game. PERIOD. (Boxers Road 2) 

I desperately want these developers to make a modern day iteration of this. I don't care if it has all fake fighters, just give me a career mode, some random generated opponents, and all of these cool features and I pay $60 happily.

If you highlight your fighter on the left, you can edit your punches, This is on Hajime No Ippo 2 Victorious Road, It might be in this game as well. You can change where the hands are placed n such, SO DEEP!

The Hajime no ippo anime got me more into boxing

some of those Ippo games are so much better than fight night , the mechanics and movements and controls is much more realistic, u can literally study boxing with these games, study positioning

I wonder if a conscious decision to keep you in the 4 round fights can be made. Like how Butterbean was a full time 4 round fighter only, it was a decision made by his fight team due to Eric almost dying after a 6 round fight.

This is awesome! I was thinking about writing blog about how this series of games are hands down the next boxing games I have played. Even though they are arcade boxers they capture the flow and ring movement so well. All other boxing games you are so planted, you can't really use footwork, this series, you can move so well, it's fantastic.

I was expecting Hajime no Ippo 2 Victorious Road but looks like I need to get this career mode too. I know Victorious Road has promotions such as WBC, WBA, WBO, IBF, and regional titles like GBBA, NABA, OPBF and has parodies of Mike Tyson and Marvin Hagler just to name a few. Plus I recommend Victorious Road for the FPS, this looks like it is struggling hard.

You can actually catch your opponent's punches by throwing the same punch they throw, at least straights. It's been nearly 15 years, but I think that's right. Like Humberto Soto. And you can counter off those caught shots and usually send your opponent flying or bouncing his head off that mat.

Hope you can bring the full series! If you liked this game, there was another one for PS2 that I thought was pretty good when it came out (and it looked a lot like) called Victorious Boxers 2. Greetings Fanatic!

Hahahaha, I mentioned this to you months ago. Glad you finally found it. It's like the Japanese Victorious Boxers 2 (Not VB All-stars, which was basically VB 3, which was localized in America as VB2: Fighting Spirit), but more streamlined, and the boxing animations are better. As far as boxing games go, yeah, I don't think they've beat this or VB2: Boxer's Road yet. It's been A WHILE but there was some reason I thought VB2: Boxer's Road was still slightly better overall, but it's a toss up. This is basically a skin over that game. I spent HOURS making different training programs, diets, etc, and reading forums with others' plans. The only thing is there comes a point where your fighter gets really really overpowered to where you can't go more than 2 rounds, and that's with you carrying your opponent.

ESBC Needs to do what EA do and steal ideas from other games 🤭

This is spawned from Hajime No Ippo 2 Boxers road. Best boxing game ever made as far as depth hands down. Never played this one but I’m sure it’s nearly just as deep. Actual gameplay needed some polish tho.

The judges in this game are completely and utterly broken. You outstrike your opponent with a ratio of 3:1 and you lose on points. Not just once, all the time. Therefore my final verdict is piece of shit.

I know they make an american version for the ps2 but it cuts out all the good rpg career mode strategies. I can easily get them both for an emulator but don't know if I should play this version or Hajime no Ippo 2: Victorious Road ps2 version? I own both PS2 USA DVD versions and love the game. Just did a little research and they even made a sequel to this Boxers Road 2. The Sequel is called Hajime no Ippo Portable: Victorious Spirits and it came out a year later for the PSP in 2007. Simple to emulate with PPSSPP. They also have a WII version but heard it is inferior.

I have this boxing game for the ps3 called ippo fighting spirit it's a Japan import that's compatible for US ps3 the game is awesome. Only thing it's all in Japanese language and words.
