I've used Nanotech Washcoat, Bathe+ and Touch-On in my foamlance, and Touch-On is my favorite of the three. Tiny bit less beading and sheeting than Bathe+, but lasts a bit longer and gives more shine. Washcoat gives the most shine, but is not as good with beading/sheeting.

As most people will by towel drying their car then I think a ceramic drying aid Is a better option with a protection free soap. I'm happy using the Turtle Wax Pure Wash and then use their Ceramic Wet Wax as a drying aid.

Ceramic wet wax is meh for me. About once a month after my usual contact wash and rinse I come back with TW Ceramic wash rinse that off and use Seal N Shine as a drying aid. The water behaviour after it 'cures' is like a full blown ceramic. It's off label usage for Seal N Shine but it has better water behaviour than Ceramic Wet and lasts longer although I do alternate between washes to use up the bottles I already have. The ceramic wash doesn't have enough lubricity for me to use on a dirty car but same applies to the ArmorAll and Meguiars which are the 3 products I get in my market. TW Ice Wash and Wax appears here occasionally even though I think it's discontinued. I grab that as I can use that for a contact wash and get some protection and it's compatible with Seal N Shine.

Great test! I recently bought the BH product to try out. I've used it twice, in a dedicated lance beaker (I have 3 with my AVA cannon) to follow the main wash as the cars were filthy. I was very impressed with the beading and silky smooth feel afterwards. Even got some free RainX effect on the windscreen and was impressed how long it resisted the wiper's attempts to remove it. So, definitely good as a top up. I intend to try it for the wash phase as well for an even quicker wash and protect. I reckon that as long as the car has some sort of base layer, the BH product (and I imagine the Meguiars equivalent) are excellent for a satisfying wash result in limited time (I no longer regard detailing as a hobby!).

Hi. I applied on my old golf Chemical guys ceramic wax. Now every 1-2 weeks I use BH foam, then Chemical Guys ceramic shampoo (from your video). I just simply squeeze twice to the bucket(I guess easy 50ml for about 10 L or less warm water) and when I rinse I can see white staff going down. It's adding some layer to the car, that's for sure. I'm not to worry how much I use, because sooner I use all sooner I buy new shampoo lol. After dry all panels I use chemical Guys ceramic quick detailer and I'm happy with final effect. btw I think go for Gyeon, BH and carpro in the future. Thanks for all effort to make this video. Tom.

I use Gyeon Bathe+ but I agree that the user experience is terrible. Also if I use the recommended dilution it’s way too weak. I administer it also directly to the mitt as I’m washing (only way to get proper effect). So I’m mostly using normal shampoo nowadays followed by a spray and rinse. Feels like I’m getting way better cleaning results and better beading with the spray&rinse.

John I recently revitalized a pickup truck that had a year old [allegedly] ceramic coating. The truck had NOT been very well maintained at all. I foamed and contact washed it with high ph to get it thoroughly clean. It seemed as though most of the coating was dead. I then did a double wash [per directions] using the Turtle Wax Ceramic Shampoo and followed with their Hybrid Solutions Ceramic Wet Wax while still wet. Results were astounding. REALLY astounding. Wish i could post a picture! I also use the TW Ceramic Shampoo as occasional maintenance washes on my wifes car with stellar results - using it as part of the Hybrid Solutions system on her car. As far as cost [U.S.] I use 2 gallons water - approx. 8 liters per bucket/contact wash using 6 oz. of shampoo per 2 gallon wash. That gives me 8 washes out of a 48 oz. jug = $1.75 per wash. I find the cost worth it if there is a goal for its use. Shine on you crazy diamonds!🚘

@joeschmoe6908
@joeschmoe6908 2 месяца назад
In the US the armorall is about $15 for 1.5 liters. The pkg calls for 6oz in a foam cannon or about 4-1. At that ratio it produces excellent foam and gives an outstanding hydrophobic effect. Ends up costing approx $1.50 per wash. I only use it occaisionally as it seems to bead water well for a couple of months. I would never use it in a bucket since to get the same effect you would probably need about 10oz in the bucket. To me it's more of an after-wash protection product. Too bad the UK version comes in a tiny bottle and lacks foam cannon instructions.

Interesting to see Armor All score a 1st place finish. I haven't purchased anything by them for decades. Maybe I'll grab a bottle of the wash next time I'm at Walmart...it's only $12 for the 50 oz bottle. There are so many good products in this space. Hard to evaluate all of them. I agree with the comment below, I probably would not place such a high weighting on the price. Many of us will pay more for a superior product. Thanks for the testing, Jon.

I used Bath+ years ago and you do need to double up dilution to get any expected results. Interesting video and a comprehensive review as per normal. Whilst price is a factor, to me it’s the most insignificant one. What I want is a product that performs. Therefore to satisfy my needs, do two rankings, the most important being performance of the product and then include price, if you really think you need to as you place a very high emphasis on scoring on cost.

I have tried the Turtle Wax Hybrid Solutions Ceramic Wash and Wax it works very well but my main complaint is, and it states this on the back of the bottle, not recommended for a foam sprayer. My favorite car wash so far is the Armor All EXTREME SHIELD +CERAMIC Car Wash. It's inexpensive, works in a foam cannon, crazy amounts of foam, great smell, and leaves a protection behind that beads for weeks, looks almost like the car has a proper ceramic coating. Oh, I use 8oz of armor all and 24oz of water in the foam cannon.

I've got the Maguires- I won it from going to a car show. It's gone lumpy and it's terrible to mix with water. I'm having to mix it up with a small amount of water first before adding 10ltrs of water. I use it on my missus car 😂. Thee best car cleaning product that beads like crazy is a Rinse-less wash by Labocosmetica- Idrosave. 40ml in a 10ltr bucket, pre spray with Idrosave and bucket wash and dry. Leaving extreme blingage and beadage. I cannot recommend enough.! Jon you need to try a few of these newer Rinse-less washes. Hero, Idrosave, DIY Rinse-less version 2 is out in the US, Fenylab are some of the best around ATM. It seems to be the biggest growth in the detailing scene ATM. The CarPro US distributor advises that to use Hydro2 Foam by hand, apply a small amount to a wet mitt and wash a panel. But what’s a small amount? In the US, I found Griots Ceramic Wash and Coat to be the best. Zero suds but they say you sacrifice protection if you add the required chems to produce suds. It does clean well and feels slick but weird without any traditional shampoo behavior. I guess results are what matter and it is the best I’ve tried by far. Still prefer a wash and sealant application after.

Great and enjoyable video! When I use a ceramic schampo I put 2 or 3 pumps of Gyeon Bathe+ in a 20L bucket together with a high foaming schampo. Works great but I prefer to skip the ceramic schampo and use Gyeon Wet Coat instead which gives way better beading than any ceramic schampo. I buy the Wet Coat Essence and have one bottle with a stronger dilution than the ready to use bottle and one bottle with a weaker dilution. The stronger solution I use a few times a year and then just maintain it with the weaker solution, keeping the cost down significantly to buying the ready to use bottles and get the same/better results.

Not sure the Hybrid Solutions is getting a fair shake here. Yes, if you make up 5 gallons of mix, at the 3 oz per gallon suggested, it's nuts. BUT, you only make up and use one gallon per wash. So, like most products, it's around 3 oz per wash. 16 washes per bottle at ~$18, is not too bad.
@ForensicDetailing
@ForensicDetailing 19 дней назад
when we compared cost per wash. we calculated the cost based on making 15 litres of wash solution FOR ALL PRODUCTS. So the price comparison stands across the board. Yes you are right you can use less solution but if you apply that to turtle wax you can apply less solution to all the other brands. but the cost per wash is still compared relative to a set quantity. So no respectfully your point is wrong. The concentration of the turtle wax product is very low (in fact the lowest in this test) but it advertises high concentration on the website. So we have to discuss this mate if we dont then its not a fair comparison.

Never used them or been a fan but they have their place. I’m in the camp of a decent cleansing shampoo (CarPro Reset a favourite) then something like Gyeon WetCoat, a decent spray sealant like TAC ShineeWax or a paste wax👌

The Bilt Hamber I use in a pump spray after washing, then rinse again. Soon as you start the rinse, the water just beads up and runs off.

i think the carpro is to be used as a hydro coating, meaning it is to be used as a snow foam coating, or manually spraying with a bottle almost like a quick detail, specially because the hydro2 lite that is the same product but ready to use says to spray in the car and then rinse with high pressure very quickly... and says the surface must be cleaned, so it isnt even a shampoo but a coating... either way it is a complex product and isnt well explained... PS: the name also implies it is some sort of coating, their site says it is a revolutionary product with nano stuff... and the name implies HO2 that is some sort of chemicals that reacts with oxygen (iam not a chemist at all but google says it does stuff and may create a protecticve layers idk) so i assume thats why it says to apply and rinse in under 30seconds on the ready to use version... still a confusion of a product...

10litre sounds sensible who knows. we discussed this in the precursor video. whatever volume you pick to represent the bucket might not be right for person x or y. but as long as its consistent for the test thats ok 14-20 litres seemed to be the conventional wisdom range. The Carpro instructions are a bit weird. Looking online I don’t think they mention a bucket wash. Either 1:9 in a foam cannon, spray on, wipe with mitt and rinse or “a small amount on a wet mitt” wipe and rinse.
@ForensicDetailing
@ForensicDetailing 2 месяца назад
so see 1:32 in this video and freeze frame the label. you can read the label on the product instructions. carpro.global/catalog/hydro2-foam/ If you go to the carpro site they have edited the instructions and changed what was previously the section section titled hand wash instructions on the bottle. And they have changed that top title to "foam lance" so you have 2 sets of instructions both for foam lance. However they have not altered the actual instructions below for the hand wash (2nd section) on the website. So the 2nd set of instructions now for foam lance tell you to use a BUCKET. Carpro have real issues with their instructions. someone has made a quick edit to try and address this and not even thought it through. It really is not good. DIRECTIONS FOAM LANCE Work in shade, rinse vehicle thoroughly. Dilute 1:9 in a bucket. Wash the vehicle section by section with a wash mitt. Rinse immediately after washing each section. Dry remaining water with a CARPRO DHydrate drying towel or by blowing.

Why don't you try the smaller companies like Sams? I know they have a good range of products and the ones I have tried seem to be really good, but then I have not been able to do a comparison against many other brands.
@ForensicDetailing
@ForensicDetailing 2 месяца назад
yer I mean we can pick about 10 brands in this test. there is probably around 500-1000 brands in the UK. So unfortunetly I will always get asked why not try brand X or Y. Its just the nature of the beast. On a positive note though I think we have tested more products from more brands than most channels (maybe any channel). Its an impossible problem to solve mate and theres less and less people doing this type of testing now in the UK because you tube is killing long format views. maybe this video does like 20k views. If I picked brands like Sams over brands like meguiars autoglym etc... it would do about 2k views. so very difficult problem for me to solve.
@YAMR1M
@YAMR1M 2 месяца назад
@@ForensicDetailing I just happen to see Sams all over Facebook and Instagram and I did see a guy in Malaysia ( I think) testing the snow foam on his car which seemed to do a decent job. A bit of topic but can you do a review of how the wheel cleaning iron removal products can damage lacquer. I use McGuires and bilthamber And had to get the wheels on my E Class Coupe stripped down and relaquered due to using de iron products
@ForensicDetailing
@ForensicDetailing 2 месяца назад
hmm TGA in itself should not damage laquer. TGA works by turning iron oxide fe2o3 into iron thiogycolic (sp) oxide. Thats all it does as far as I know. They often contain other surfactants to clean. sometimes people get stainging issues on certain finishes but if you work them and remove them quickly normally they are fine.

it was not competative on price per wash. TW and megs were the high cost per wash at around £2.30. the labo product is around 6-7£ cost per wash based on its 1:100 bucket ratio at 15litres. It was too far off market to make the cut. although to be fair the carpro label error cause so many problems it might have deserved a slot in its place.

Carpro Reset as bucket wash probably should have been in the test and not the HydrO2 foam. But get that the instructions for hand wash on the bottle must be wrong
@ForensicDetailing
@ForensicDetailing 2 месяца назад
Reset is not a ceramic shampoo mate. Hydro2 foam is the correct product for the test. someone actually requested it. The instructions seem wrong but who knows. You would never mix up 1:9 ratio for a hand wash. Carpro altered the website instructions and changed the hand wash to "foam lance" but then left the underlying instructions below the same. So for foam lance it now says to dilute 1:9 in a bucket, which is even more confusing. like ive said capro have consistent problem with their labels, with lots of grammer or typos or bits missing from instructions. its not the end of the world but it does effect their product perception when they get it wrong and this test is an example of that. But when they get it right they can win (they won the previous mega test on interior dressings)
