Yeah. It's worth noting that Dryleaf arts can't be buffed with greases or spells. Claws, fist weapons, and Beast Claws can accept buffs, and many have intrinsic bleed. So dryleaf should have fairly beefy damage to compensate. It seems like they did good with the buff.
@Serenity-tn4yn think of it not always light vs heavy, but attack 1 and 2. It's just a different attack string option you can use. If you think of it as weak and strong attacks I'd say bad design, but something like the Milady works differently. Just my 2 cents
For some, and it is also worth noting, that R2 generally don't combo as well out of rolling, and have higher recovery into rolls than R1s, so when it comes to actually fighting, they aren't as OP as it might seem
Great spears were already good, but being able to just alternate R2 > R1 > R2 for as long as stamina allows just feels amazing. Also feels great being able to easily engage with the advancing R2 thrust as well.
"Just R1 spam bro" "Just spam jump attacks bro" "Just spam R2 bro" "Elden ring is just weapon art spam" It's funny cuz I've heard all of these before. Y'all need to make up your mind 😭 Just use all of them at this point 🙄
Fromsoft are funny, they make massive changes like this that change the entire game, but ignore obvious flaws like just how objectively bad some of the dlc weapons are (like perfumes, fire knight shortsword, etc.)
The perfumes are the best overall set of weapons, decent damage and only focus on elemental damage and status effects, and just don't use the short sword, use erdsteel
Has any actual person ever used the Main-gauche? Why did they waste development time creating something that has no reason to exist? ("Oh you can powerstance it with rapiers and put parry on it" you can put parry on rapiers, too.)
This might actually be groundbreaking. Sekiro, Bloodborne, and even DS3 personally feel less clumsy with the fluidity of their attack animations. Sekiro had parry-to-slash frames, Bloodborne had dash attack tech, and DS3 had R1 infinites. Now, ER has Milady combos.
It’s hard to beat bloodbornes combat man it’s so peak🙏🏽 idk why or how these later games haven’t had transforming weapons at all like they weren’t the greatest things they’ve cooked up imo. Church Pick is just so fuckin beautiful 😭
An underated move imo is the one handed uncharged heavy of the basic twinblades (excluding the Godskin Peeler, Black Steel Twinblade and Eleonora's Poleblade). Even before the patch it was a vertical slash (which compliments the moveset of just horizontal slashes or pokes) that lunged really far and did solid damage and now it's even faster.
Thanks for your hard work bro, you are no quetions asked the best Elden Ring youtuber for people that love this min maxing data grinding approach. Please keep up the great work !
This is so good. R2s did not have enough of a role for too many weapons in any of the souls series before. I'm a little unsure of the weapons for which the opening R2 is a harder hitting faster move than an opening R1 though. 'It is always right to open with R2' or 'it is almost always right to just do R2' are both a bit of a bad place to be.
Beast claw first r2 startup frames honestly seem like they were like halved. It makes it feel even better for closing distance and catching mobile enemies. Nice stuff.
What do yall think of the Warhawk's Talon after buff? With the unique double swipe on the heavy and being faster uncharged, could be really good for status builds
It’s gotten better but it’s hard to beat out powerstancing straight swords. You could potentially use it with a powerstance build and have the heavy attack end the combo. I probably have to try it out
For GS, using impaling thust on them is amazing now (especially for Claymore with spear talisman on). It was already a great combo of L2-R2-L2, but now it's even faster. Same with katanas that have a poke attack because it's crazy fast now Plus you're doing a bunch of stance damage too.
Youwy check out Impaling thrust to uncharged heavy with claymore post patch. Absolutely busted. Crazy pierce damage with 44 stance damage in like half a second
So if the Great spears are getting an imporved R2, does that mean the Sword Lance has become god tier? It was good already but that change might see them destroying people.
Such a bad change, it's already super easy to get op in Elden Ring with almost every weapon, and now you can spam heavy attacks without the risk of being hit, this actually lowers the skill ceiling as it's so much easier now. At this point old RoB and Moonveil are mid tier weapons at best.
@@pedrogarcia9527 Kai Cenat really did bring some stupid players to souls games so now they have to make it easier for you or else you're gonna cry about the difficulty
rellanas takers cameo, the magic scorpion charm and the magic physick one would like a word. Moonveils weaponart is more insane than ever now, absolutely not mid lmao
@@mihajlomiletic562 no one cares about how good you are at elden ring. and making heavy attack viable means you now have more options in combat which actually RAISES the skill ceiling and player agency. but please keep crying about how other people play their video game.
