Hi I am Ann Reardon, Today I am making a crowd pleaser dessert that will make both the sweet tooth and savory lover happy. So if you are in need of a creative cheese board idea this is it. Absolutely! I LOVE figs! Growing up, my neighbor had a fig tree/bush in her back yard and we used to eat them as we picked them. Darn termites killed it off though and I've been trying for years now, but it seems nobody within a few hours drive has fresh figs and I've only been able to find dried ones in the stores, which are always more bitter than the fresh ones. I've been craving them (and mulberries, which are even rarer to find fresh), for a loonnnggg time. :(

@@SpeedDemonStar I've had fresh figs that were absolutely divine, and I've had fresh figs that tasted mostly of water. It's a gamble. Dried figs are always pretty decent.

I grew up on a farm in Indiana we grew plums, pears, apples, figs, black berries, red and gold raspberries, goose berries, rhubarb, and sun flower seeds, I love them all but fresh summer figs are awesome

I am really late in responding to this...but if you can only find chocolate with vegetable oil then you wouldn't need to temper your chocolate...you can just melt it and use it straight away.
