I'm also very cool toned and I think pastels and lighter colors wash me out and black doesn't. I also don't think neons look good on me.

Oh, I just remembered the name of the book! It's called "Color Me Beautiful," by Carole Jackson. It's old, from the 80's, but I find that many of its principles hold up

+Diane Heisner It's funny you pointed out your photo because after I read the first line of your comment, I was thinking neon pink would look amazing on her. Brighter colors really bring out your blue eyes :) If you're not comfortable wearing bright colors, like neon, I'd suggest you start off small and work your way up to larger pieces. Start off with a purse that can help brighten up a neutral look or add an additional pop to your outfit. I love Rebecca Minkoff and Kate Spade for these kind of vibrant purses. Then, you can start to wear perhaps a pair of shoes (Nine West, Steve Madden, Sophia Webster are all great options for brighter pumps). Then, you can try going for a neon blouse. I think neon pink is the safest when it comes to blouses and looks fantastic with other colors, such as turquoise in the summer, grey in the spring and black in the winter. I'd suggest wearing the other neons, orange and green more on the beach or in printed pieces, since they can be a bit over bearing in a solid piece for certain occasions. Hey girlie! I'd suggest darker shades, such as black, charcoal grey, cobalt blue, and jewel toned colors. The latter all tend to enhance pale skin, while create a glow. I hope this helped!

I'm the same. I'm pale with blond hair and I can pull off earthy tones. I can't do pastels but I can do black.

To give my opinion, if you are very pale, I wouldn't necessarily suggest you just wear black, as it can make you appear washed out, especially if you have yellow undertones. Instead, opt for vibrant jewel toned colors that help bring out your skin's vibrancy, which pale and darker skin tones tend to have. These colors would be: cobalt blue, eggplant purple, emerald, radiant orchid, magenta, and ruby red. I hope this helped :) XO

Miriyam Jubayev Great question, Miriyam! Yes, you can certainly wear red, even though you are a redhead! I would suggest you go for reds that have more of a bluish undertone, even though you are warm, which will balance out your hair color. You'll notice that Amy Adams does this as well ;) XO

I literally can't have a sun tan for an hour without it going fast...XD I'm so glad I like having pale skin...It isn't super pale I over exaggerated.

Well in artificial/lamp light with no sun shine my skin and hair looks darker....And my veins look greenish but in sunlight I look pale and my veins are a deep blue..Oh and my hair shine golden.

This is a combination of cool and warm tones, so either of the selections made for these two would look great on you. But since you mentioned you are pale, I'd particularly suggest these colors to bring out your skin tone: cobalt blue, eggplant puple, emerald, radiant orchid, magenta, and ruby red. +Emma Mohlin Hey Emma, I was an image consultant years ago with a company called Beauticontrol. I have not drapped anyone in 20 years and have not been in the game that long too but learning about undertones really gave me a lot of understanding. You are like my daughter with your light brown hair. Sometimes light brown heads are called dark blondes. Light brown/blonde hair means you have a blue undertone. If your skin seems yellow at times, it is sallowness in the skin that can be brought on by a host of things and can be as simple as not having the proper nutritional balance in your diet. It can be corrected. You have to look past that and look at your undertone and hair color. I can not see a picture but believe from your description that you have a cool undertone and more specifically in color analysis a summer . Summers range from bright blondes to even brunettes such as Jennifer Aniston, Farrah Fawcett, Natalie Portman, Keira Knightly, Jennifer Lawrence, Britney Spears, Scarlett Johanson, Patrick Dempsey, Chris Evans and Liam Hemsworth.

I know your comment is old. But looking at this vid its pretty much for everyone. That's why she is not naming race etc. And she shows pics of folks who are white and black. I'm Hispanic not all Hispanics are the same. We have black skin Hispanics, all the way to white or pale. Not all blacks are the same either or white or Asian. My black skin Hispanic cousin will not look nice with some of the color clothes my man or his sisters put on. They all have different skin tones. The only problem I have with this video☝ is that I wish she shows pics of veins. Just explaining is confusing.

I'm neutral i know "warm" ppl lol and they pull off black much better than cool tones same with white.. if you're cool you'll look better in something close to black maybe like brown or a colour that's very dark but dull/cool.. and if you're cool you'd also wear off white rather than true white

look, Lupita nyongo is black, but has a cool undertone. whereas Cameron Diaz is whiyeb ut has a warm undertone... it's not aabout skin colour.

Green veins= warm (yellow) undertone. You can be white, black, yellow, red and have that undertone Blue veins= Cool (blue) undertone. You can be of any race/skin color and have that undertone

Hey beauty, I'm sorry for the delayed response! Another great way to help give you an idea is to put on a gold bracelet on one arm and a silver on the other. The one that tends to pop more against your skin, will reveal which skin tone you are. If it's the gold, then you're warm, if it's silver, then you're cool. If both look the same with no differences, then you'd be neutral. I hope this helped, girlie!

That's exactly what I thought when I saw this video. It doesn't make sense pastels don't look good on cool undertones, most bright bold colors don't look good on warm undertones. Jesus!
