Great video. The YT3 series is the most advanced compact tractor on the market and puts the most power to the ground due to the iHMT. Thanks for creating a video that this tractor and Yanmar deserves.
You see the the YT347 ROPS going for $37-40K on TractorHouse. When I got quotes on premium 35hp tractors from Kubota and MF equipped with rear remotes and tire ballast, the price came to about $40K. So the Yanmar YT series represents a good value with a lot more power and features than similarly equipped tractors from other Japanese manufacturers.
Got a 2022 YT359C from PR Equipment in Kerens, Texas who have opened a second house in Wills Point. I've used it mostly for dirt work, backfilling my new shop and grading. The A/B mode is really nice for quick speed changes between grading and getting another load. I also use it to till a 30 x 60 garden twice a year. Recently purchased a Lane Shark mower that runs directly off the live 3rd function. Does a heck of a job with offset and overhead clearing and regular maintenance around the pond. I sometimes feel like it's overpowered as it has no problem spinning tires in those hard push situations. There are rebates and deals so shop around.
I'll be coming out with a video over the next week or so talking about the differences of the YM and YT. So stay tuned for that! But to answer your question more directly. The YT will be better for daily use, yes. The YM however is great for anyone who wants to spend less and is okay with a gear drive transmission. The only thing that's better about the YT is the transmission which actually gives you a boost in PTO power/capability and the YT also comes with a cab option. A better comparison would be with Kioti, which beats Yanmar in nearly every spec across the entire lineup, from hydraulic flow, to lift capacity, to PTO power, to included features, to price. Beating John Deere and Kubota is fairly easy to do nowadays.
Thanks for the comment, sir but that's simply not true. The comparable kioti DK6020SE HST has a lift capacity of 2,716.lb, and the YT3 lifts 2,746.lb. not to mention the kioti is an HST while the yanmar is an I-HMT. The kioti specs show the PTO power is less on the kioti at 44hp while the yanmar YT359 has 52pto power. Also, they are around the same price, with the kioti costing around $44,000 online. The key things that make yanmar better are interlink technology, revolutionary transmission, and the fact that Yanmars have the best warranty at 10 years. Kioti is a good tractor, very dependable. But the Yanmar could easily win in a pulling contest because of the transmission type. As far as the hydraulic pump goes kioti states that the pump capacity is 16.49gpm (implement + steering) the yanmar yt3 has a pump capacity of 15.8 (implement+ steering) so the kioti wins on that but just slightly.
