The Best Cordless Tire Inflator

Just bought the Ridgid and should have bought it years ago. Top off tires fast and makes it easy for motorcycles also. Verified the PSI with an expensive PSI gauge and the Ridgid was spot on every time.

Agree. These are best for a car tire. Buddy of mine had issues with two of those Kobalt inflaters. Both worked great when new! But after a few years and several uses, each one konked out on him. He refused to buy a 3rd one. I keep that Ryobi in my car. Along with one of the company's larger capacity batteries, and a charger. All 3 fit well inside a mechanic's tool-bag. The inflater? Loud! Takes a while to inflate a flat. Hold down the button the entire time. Shakes a bit in hand. Grip is only comfortable if you wear XL-sized gloves. But, budget inflater that just works. Saved me from getting stranded handful of occasions in the last 4 or 5 years. Last time, my aluminum rim was damaged. Bent inward, and a sharp point had penetrated the tire. Couldn't see it from the outside. With the rim jammed up against the tire, I had an extremely slow leak. Used my Ryobi. Two days later had to use it again. Used it a total of three times like that until I got it to a garage. That Ryobi more than paid for itself already. Though at the time I knew nothing about Ridgid. Having a non-battery option of inflating a low tire is a huge plus! If I didn't already own the Ryobi, I'd buy the Ridgid in a heart-beat.

Thank you for the video! I have the Milwaukee M12 inflator and have no issues for the past 3 years. Very happy with it and it is simple to use. Please note that it works best with 3.0 battery & up.

Thank you for making a non-biased video! I just got done watching another RU-vid video where they compared this rigid with a 2ah battery versus the Milwaukee 18 volt with an 8AH battery and it only beat the rigid by a minute. This was a much more accurate. The difference between the 2 and 4ah was a minute and that other guys RU-vid video the Milwaukee beat it by a minute so if everything between the two channels is correct the rigid would be almost exactly the same as that big Milwaukee with the way bigger battery and the Ridgid only using the 4ah....... AND WAY SMALLER.

the lighter plug in adapter is a great idea. especially for a cordless pump you cary in the car. Also keep in mind Ryobi has a 9 amp +one battery on the market

went with the rigid! i really appreciate your concluding statement at the end. i wanted to get to makita to stay on the same platform but seems like the cost and performance really don't stack up against the rigid/others. for the same price the rigid comes with the battery and the charger. thanks!

I have the Ridgid and Ryobi. Both work great. But the Ridgid has really good features that make it a must have if you have Ridgid batteries.

I have the Ridgid but used Makita battery since I have lots of LXT batteries. I used a Ridgid to Makita battery adapter.

I've got the older model ryobi with the analog gauge and it's been a great tool. It inflates car tires no problem and excellent for bikes and lawnmowers. One of the last ryobi tools I still use since switching to Milwaukee.

Man that Ridgid sounds great with those features.I have the small Ryobi in this video and the bigger Ryobi as well. I like them both, but they're not accurate. So, it's interesting you gave decent accuracy with that Ryobi. One thing to add to your chart might be the accuracy you recorded.

Nice comparison, it's a no-brainer when you consider RIDGID's 'lifetime warranty' upon registration along with-it being hybrid. I do wish their unit included a light though. Not only for safety if needed on the roadside but for visibly at night.

Picked up the Bauer cuz I was tired of dragging an extension cord n hose out to fill up a tractor tire. Since used it car. Motorcycle and 10 ply tire. Thanks to this damn tool I now have 5 batteries and the glue gun n jig saw. Happy with all

Interesting how that Rigid unit out performs the rest by quite a large margin. I don't see many of their tools over here in the UK. You had the cheap version from Ryobi, they do a larger unit with a similar price tag to Milwaukee.

Yeah, I have the M12. I keep it behind the seat with a 4AH battery. Tool only, they have jump up 1/3rd the cost from when I got mine. More for older tech right? Def will pull you out of a roadside bind. But, yeah, smoke em if you got em. Time wise. If I had to do again, it would be the Craftsman three volt system.

I regularly fill up cars, trucks, ag, earthmoving tyres etc. Of all the tools I really don't know how to compare, big compressors, small, big tyres, high pressures, low - LOTS of variables Definitely seems like all of these are stinkers though, except maybe the Ridgid. I wonder if they all have thermal cut off and at what temp/time like ordinary tyre inflators and also how accurate the gauges are, I find it annoying how some inflators and handheld gauges can be wildly inaccurate.

I've had the analog ryobi for a couple years. It was great until I filled 4 tires on a car that's been sitting a few years. I was trying to beat a storm coming in and didn't give it any cool down time. Since then it only works for about a minute and definitely not at full capacity

I'm not in the ridgid ecosystem, currently have Milwaukee and Ryobi batteries. Just ordered the RIDGID 18V with 2.0 Ah Battery and Charger. Good pickup? It was $99. I'm sure I might pickup a rigid bare tool in the future

I need an inflator to take 4 33” light duty truck tires from 20 psi to 35 psi in one duty cycle, do you think the Ridgid can do it? Or maybe the M12 or Skil would be better for my purposes?

Did you run the Ridgid 12V test with a bare battery, a battery in a car with the engine running or a battery in a car with the ignition off? I’ve noticed the 12V plug inflator(s) that came with my car runs a lot faster with the engine running.

Does WORX compare to any of these as most of my other tools are WORX and been debating about what inflator to get?

You should check out the upgraded Makita 18v inflator and the 40v XGT inflator. My only issue with the Makita inflators is they didn’t include a trigger lock?!?!?!? I have the M18 inflator and it’s pretty impressive.

You should have included the new Milwaukee M18 inflator. It would have probably won hands down.

That model Makita is trash, no one would buy that one! The larger higher spec one is awesome. Tools and Stuff has a great comparison video
