I don't get it. I don't find it anywhere near as good as endorphin speed 3. I don't like for tempo runs, don't feel responsive for me. Good for easy runs though

I recently got the NB SC trainer V2.. Mixed reviews so I wasn’t sure whether to get them, however, these are my favorite daily trainer, they’re very underrated

I found a pair of the previous versions of the Saucony Ride at a ridiculous price on a second hand website and took the pwerrun insole and put it on the Speed 3. Talk about versatility there. Now I have a truly plush shoe that I can also push to 4:00/km easy-peasy

i have the Endorphin Speed 4´s and Novablast 3TR´s... Speed4´s are the best I have ever used, and did my first race ever yesterday in them. Feels good almost everywhere... But if there's loose sand on that asphalt or running on loose surface, it feels like slightly slipping when on lift off

Good timing, and good review topic. So many reviews are focused on niche performance - recovery, easy miles, max cushioning, up-tempo etc - but for many of us versatility is the #1 niche, if that's not too odd a thing to say.

I've always been an Asics wearer, BUT, I think New Balance and Saucony are killing it with the design of theirs and have better colourways in my opinion. Is there anything I should be aware of if I was to deviate to either brand from Asics? My current 3 shoes are Gel Excite 10, Gel Nimbus 25 & Novablast 4.

Still loving my Asics Glideride 3. 800km and still have a step-in like a slipper and great heel to toe action. Been rationing their use, waiting for a decent replacement. Best i got was Mach X on rotation. Similar heel to toe but slightly different compression profile with the foam. Not many daily rockered trainers at this price point.

@@Laolu90tried that but they were to tight. They just don’t fit my foot unfortunately. Just bought Nimbus 26 as well and having the same problem with them. Normally runs with Saucony Speed and they fit perfect. I might just not be an ASICS kind of runner.

Great review! Ive been following your channel and it's impressive. I have an important question for you. There are a ton of shoes out there bragging so many different things and I'm totally confused. Reading some reviews I bought Orthofeet and I'm disappointed which I'm going to return within 10 days. I am a 330 lbs guy who has wide feet & normal arch. I want to change that by starting walking everyday for 10K steps at least along with diet. Orthofeet gave me pain in the feet & metatarsals and pressure pain in the knee joint after barely walking 1 km. Im not saying Orthofeet is bad but it just didn't work for me. Im looking for EXTRA WIDE Walking/ Running Shoes with great cushioning and supportive to my feet and joints being able to absorb the shock of my weight. Which is the best shoes that you'd want to recommend to me?

Ok, between the novablast 4 vs the endorphin speed 3, which one? Right now the speed 3 is on discount so it might be a little cheaper than the novablast 4. I’m looking for daily trainer plus long easy miles for this shoe.

Great video as always 💪 I would appreciate your advice, I am a 5' 7"/170 casual runner who runs only with the Saucony Triumph 20 (they wear up) and I looking for my next new shoe. My easy run pace is 5:50/km or slower. Daily training pace is between 5:20 - 5:40/km for a 10k, And my last 10k race result was 50 minutes. My new goal is to run a 10k in 45 minutes and take a step towards running a half marathon by running 15k. So, I plan to add speed workouts to my routine (something I didn't do yet). I tried the Speed 3 and the Boston 12 and both of them felt good. Which of the two shoes would you recommend for my needs? Or, do you suggest something else? Also, what would be a good shoe rotation? Would it be reasonable to rotate between both of them? Thanks, a lot

Hey. Ik I am not part of the YT channel but I think I could offer some advice. Im a d1 runner who works part time at fleet feet a running specialty store. I think you have two possibilities here. You could choose a trainer that is versatile and does it all. There are many on the market and this video highlights some of them. However, my personal opinion for someone taking running seriously and trying to improve race Pr’s is to have shoe rotation. It doesn’t have to be elaborate just two shoes makes a big difference. Having one for daily mileage and recovery runs and a second for faster efforts in training and racing. As far as what those will be you have many options! Ideally I’d recommend going into a local running specialty store and try on various options to see what works best for you. Ik at the stores I work at we can scan your feet and give recommendations based on that. I hope I was of some help and feel free to ask me questions. As far as the two you mentioned the endorphin speed and the boston would work great for a durable and versatile faster trainer and race shoe for someone like you. I personally really like the endorphin speed and have had experience in the past few models of it. As far as rotating the boston and speed I think choosing one or the other and an easy day/ daily trainer would be better. Example if you stuck with just saucony is using the triumph for daily mileage and easy runs and the speed for faster stuff.

Massive fan of the Puma Vel. Nitro 2. You might get them at arond 65€ from time to time. I reckon the 3 will drop in price soon. Also got a pair of Novablast 4. Very comfortable though not as soft as the Cumulus for example, but you can cruise for hours at easy pace, as well as picking up the pace for some Strides within your run, without feeling sluggish.

I tried the Mach 6 but they were not a stable enough platform for me and the first run left my legs feeling really beat up coming from the ASICS gt2000 as a daily shoe which I run in 3x a week. I’m hunting for a non stability shoe that I can make my next daily trainer as the gts are now at the end of their lifespan

I recently got Novablast 4 with the plan of wearing them for my marathon on 26 May. About 10 days in, I have 54 miles on them, so I picked up Hoka Mach 6 to take some of those miles before the race. Which of those two shoes do you think is better for the marathon itself, when I hope to run a 4-hour (or slightly faster🤞) time. It’s my first marathon, so I’m kinda freaking out.

I’d suggest the ASICS Novablast 4. The main reason is you will be on your feet for (hopefully) just under 4 hours. The Novablast has greater cushioning than the Mach 6. Whilst the Mach 6 will feel slighty more nimble and a little lighter after 15-17 miles with still 10 miles to go your legs will thank you for the extra cushioning. Furthermore whilst the Novablast isn’t a race shoe it is quite versatile and for your task it’s a very good choice.

@@michaelgriffiths305 that’s great to hear! My plan is to wear the Mach 6 for a good bit of my remaining training so I don’t wear down the Novablast anymore. The alternative is to do the opposite. Just wanted to feel confident that Mach 6 makes sense for the rest of my miles and that Novablast will get me through race day. Thanks for the reply!

I’m not sure if the ASICS Magic Speed could be considered as a daily trainer as it wasn’t designed for nor can it ever be used for easy daily miles never mind recovery runs. Rather it is the quintessential carbon plated speed shoe. I think one of the requirements for a daily trainer is to be versatile enough to do easy daily miles.

Clifton’s to me are a way better daily all around than the endorphin 4. I do not get that hype. They literally sound like a horse galloping at decent speed. And I way 175. Similar effect as to new balance sc v2

I’m a running noob but just love running in my Vaporfly 3s. Why would I want any of these shoes over the vaporflys when I have a ton of cushion for protecting my knees and ankles while also getting that great spring from the carbon plate?

If you do all your running in Vaporflys you’ll wear out the foam in a hurry. Wearing a range of shoes is also thought to reduce injury risk.

Guys, I’m not sure the plated shoes ie the trainer/racers should be included as a daily choice of trainer. I think there has been a merge in the two categories whereas two years ago they were clearly distinct. However, are you endorsing runners buying plated shoes for daily use? Not looking to be awkward rather asking what are we doing here? Thoughts/ responses welcome…

The endorphin speed has a nylon plate which is only there to reinforce the peba foam. Not the same as running in a carbon plated shoe.

@@ryanmohan3041 probably isn’t but the fact that many pros who do a lot more miles limit plates use as it’s unnatural on the feet AND there are not a host of scientific studies on the long term effects of plate use AND the fact it’s morphed so plated shoes being part of the daily trainer reviews are accepted is probably fine if your a major running brand making a profit but should RU-vid channels be perpetuating that? Personally I suspect your average first world runner who has spent the majority of their life walking around on cushioned soles will be fine. I accept a Saucony ES 1-4 offers a nylon plate which is more flexible. I’m more noting that without any question or clear explanation plates shoes have slipped into daily trainer use. I’m no podiatrist but seems a subtle shift which I’m not 100% sure about. That’s it!

RunRepeat did a flex test on the Saucony Endorphin Speed 4 with its nylon plate, and it yielded the same results as any nonplated shoe of equal stack height.

@@jefreywith1f924 The plate changes how the foot moves through the foot strike regardless of the level of rebound. There is no doubt that there is more give in a Nylon plate verses a carbon one. Saucony have played a blinder in terms of reaching a greater audience. However, had they retained the narrower width of the ES1/2 then there is an argument to be made that the shoe does not become classified by influencers as, a “daily trainer”. Off course when wider it now appeal to a greater purchasing audience creating vagueness about its purpose. Undoubtedly, ES4 is a good running shoe but there yet to be long term tests to showing the impact on the feet & pathology. I’m not saying a nylon plate = plantar fasciitis. I am saying no one knows yet! It is interesting that the people (pros) running most ie upwards of 100 miles per week tend to limit plated shoe runs regardless of the individual shoes composition. Maybe it doesn’t matter so much for your enthusiast or average club runner getting in five runs and 30-50miles per week?
